Conditionsthatrequireimmediateaction

Productscanbecomedamagedduetomisuseorneglect.Someproduct damageisseriousenoughthattheproductshouldnotbeusedagainuntilit hasbeeninspectedand,ifnecessary,repairedbyanauthorizedservicer.

•Thecomputerproduct,powercord,orpoweradapterhasbeenexposedto water.
•Theproducthasbeendroppedordamagedinanyway.
•Theproductdoesnotoperatenormallywhenyoufollowtheoperating instructions.

Batteries

DANGER
PersonalcomputersmanufacturedbyLenovocontainacoincellbattery toprovidepowertothesystemclock.Inaddition,manymobileproducts, suchasnotebookcomputers,utilizearechargeablebatterypackto providesystempowerwheninportablemode.Batteriessuppliedby Lenovoforusewithyourproducthavebeentestedforcompatibilityand shouldonlybereplacedwithapprovedparts.
ThissystemdoesnotsupportbatteriesthatarenotgenuineLenovo-made orauthorized.Thesystemwillcontinuetoboot,butmaynotcharge unauthorizedbatteries.Attention:Lenovohasnoresponsibilityfor theperformanceorsafetyofunauthorizedbatteries,andprovidesno warrantiesforfailuresordamagearisingoutoftheiruse.
Neverattempttoopenorserviceanybattery.Donotcrush,puncture,or incineratebatteriesorshortcircuitthemetalcontacts.Donotexposethe batterytowaterorotherliquids.Onlyrechargethebatterypackstrictly accordingtoinstructionsincludedintheproductdocumentation.
Batteryabuseormishandlingcancausethebatterytooverheat,whichcan causegassesorameto“vent”fromthebatterypackorcoincell.Ifyour batteryisdamaged,orifyounoticeanydischargefromyourbatteryorthe buildupofforeignmaterialsonthebatteryleads,stopusingthebattery andobtainareplacementfromthebatterymanufacturer.
Batteriescandegradewhentheyareleftunusedforlongperiodsof time.Forsomerechargeablebatteries(particularlyLithiumIonbatteries), leavingabatteryunusedinadischargedstatecouldincreasetheriskofa batteryshortcircuit,whichcouldshortenthelifeofthebatteryandcan alsoposeasafetyhazard.DonotletrechargeableLithium-Ionbatteries completelydischargeorstorethesebatteriesinadischargedstate.

Donotattempttodisassembleormodifythebatterypack.Attemptingto dosocancauseanexplosion,orliquidleakagefromthebatterypack.A batterypackotherthantheonespeciedbyLenovo,oradisassembledor modiedbatterypackisnotcoveredbythewarranty.
Iftherechargeablebatterypackisincorrectlyreplaced,thereisdanger ofanexplosion.Thebatterypackcontainsasmallamountofharmful substances.T oavoidpossibleinjury:

Thebatterypackshouldbestoredatroomtemperature,chargedto approximately30to50%ofcapacity.Werecommendthatbatterypackbe chargedaboutonceperyeartopreventoverdischarge.

Usingheadphonesorearphones

Ifyourcomputerhasbothaheadphoneconnectorandanaudioline-out connector,alwaysusetheheadphoneconnectorforheadphones(alsocalleda headset)orearphones.
CAUTION: Excessivesoundpressurefromearphonesandheadphonescancause hearingloss.Adjustmentoftheequalizertomaximumincreasesthe earphonesandheadphonesoutputvoltageandthereforethesoundpressure level.
Excessiveuseofheadphonesorearphonesforalongperiodoftimeathigh volumecanbedangerousiftheoutputoftheheadphoneorearphoneconnectors donotcomplywithspecicationsofEN50332-2.Theheadphoneoutput connectorofyourcomputercomplieswithEN50332-2Subclause7.This specicationlimitsthecomputer’smaximumwidebandtrueRMSoutputvoltage to150mV.Tohelpprotectagainsthearingloss,ensurethattheheadphonesor earphonesyouusealsocomplywithEN50332-2(Clause7Limits)forawideband characteristicvoltageof75mV .UsingheadphonesthatdonotcomplywithEN 50332-2canbedangerousduetoexcessivesoundpressurelevels.
IfyourLenovocomputercamewithheadphonesorearphonesinthepackage, asaset,thecombinationoftheheadphonesorearphonesandthecomputer alreadycomplieswiththespecicationsofEN50332-1.Ifdifferentheadphones orearphonesareused,ensurethattheycomplywithEN50332-1(Clause6.5 LimitationValues).UsingheadphonesthatdonotcomplywithEN50332-1canbe dangerousduetoexcessivesoundpressurelevels.
