This document describes the V 1.0.0 release of Leica Acquire software for Apple Mac Intel computers.

1 Introduction
This release supports the following Leica cameras and microscopes.
You should read this document before installing your copy of this software.
Please identify the type of camera or microscope that you are using before installing the software from this release. If in doubt, check for the software specific to your equipment at the Leica Microsystems website:

2 Installation
Installation and operation of the software is detailed in the Leica Acquire User Manual and Leica Acquire Help. The manual can also be found on the CD.
Upon inserting the CD into your computer you should be presented with options to install the software or browse to the supporting documentation on the CD.
3 Reason for this Release
This version is the first release of Leica Acquire.
In particular, it offers support for existing educational cameras and the new EZ4 HD stereomicroscope and ICC50 HD camera.

4 System Requirements
4.1 Operating System
Supported Mac OS operating systems (32-bit & 64-bit):
10.5 (Leopard) or later - (10.4 Tiger is not supported).
Please use the latest updates (contact http://www.apple.com for updating your system).
You may need Administrative rights for installation.
4.2 Computer
The minimum Mac computer specification is as follows:
1 GHz Intel Core2 Duo processor, with 1 GB RAM. Graphics: 256Mb RAM supporting 32 bit. USB 2.0 (High-Speed) port. CD-ROM drive or internet connection for download.
Please Note: Faster processors, additional RAM memory and more advanced graphics adapters may improve the performance of Leica Acquire. Running other programs at the same time may limit performance.

This is the first release of the software for Leica Educational cameras and stereomicroscopes.

6 Known Limitations
6.1 USB1
USB 1.0 or 1.1 (Standard USB) are not supported in Leica Acquire. Your computer must support USB2 (High-Speed USB) to use the microscope or camera correctly.
Connect them to a USB2 ports located directly on your computer, and not to keyboard or screen USB hubs, as these hubs are not always High-Speed USB2 ports.
