Getting Started
Install LeapFrog Connect and complete the
In order to use the Skill Selector, you must first set
up the LeapFrog Connect Application included with
your child’s Leapster Explorer handheld.
Install the LeapFrog Connect Application to your
computer and follow the setup wizard to create a
LeapFrog account and enter information about who
plays with the toy. If you did not complete setup of
the Leapster Explorer when first installing the
application, click the Parent Account tab at the top
the setup process.
Play the game you want to customize
Make sure you have created a LeapFrog Parent
account and entered information about who plays
with the toy.

Play (or let your child play) one of the Mathematics
or Spelling games that you want to customize/
customise and then connect your handheld to the
computer to upload the play data. You must play a
Leapster Explorer game for each skill type before
you can customize its curriculum.

On the Skill Selector page, click the Create a
Spelling List or Create a Mathematics Skill Set
button to open the customization page for that skill
type.
Each subject has a list of games that can use skill
sets for that subject. As your child plays these
games, these subjects will become active and
appear in color/colour. Once a subject is active you
can create skill sets for it.

Creating a Spelling List: Step 1
There are two ways to search for Spelling words:
1. Type a word or letter into the search box and
press the Search button.
2. Choose a list and use the alphabet buttons and
scroll bar to find the word you are looking for.
When you find the word you want, press the Add
(+) button to move it to your custom list.
Search again until you have added at least five –

If the Leapster Explorer handheld is connected and
turned on, the new Skill Set will be transferred to

to dismiss the dialog.
Wait a minute while the LeapFrog Connect
Explorer handheld. You will see another
confirmation window that says “Files have been
saved to your Leapster Explorer handheld”. Press
OK to clear the window.
