Important Safety Instructions:
Important: Read these instructions thoroughly before using.
SlumberAir™Mattress System Setup Instructions
DANGER
• Disconnect the electrical plug from the wall outlet before cleaning, moving, servicing or when not
in use for an extended period of time.
• Do not use this product if it is wet, in water, around water or any liquid. Do not handle the plug or
remote control with wet hands.
• Do not sit or lie on mattress except when it is fully extended. Never close unit with person or animal inside.
• To prevent suffocation keep plastic bags away from children.
WARNING
• Always keep open flame and lit cigarettes away from upholstered furniture. Upholstered furniture
may burn rapidly with toxic gas and thick smoke.
• Closely supervise children and disabled persons using this product.
• This product has many moving parts, serious injury can occur if not used properly. Keep hands,
fingers and body parts away from the mechanism. To reduce the risk of head entrapment and other
injuries, keep children and pets away from openings and moving parts in and around furniture.
• Do not stand, sit, or place extra weight on the arms, or back.
• Do not use this product if it is damaged. Do not use attachments or substitute parts.
• This product is intended for indoor residential use only.
• Check the condition of the power transformers, electrical cords, plugs, and connectors monthly.
Keep the power transformers and electrical cords away from heat sources. Never operate the unit
with a damaged power transformer, electrical cord, plug, or connector. Contact your La-Z-Boy
dealer for service.
• This product is not intended for use as a health care device.
• Do not use this product where aerosol (spray) products are being used or where oxygen is being administered.
• Use care when moving the product. Before lifting the product, secure the mechanism to prevent
unexpected opening or movement. Never move the product by the mechanism, legrest, handle,
reclining back, or swivel base. Disconnect modular units. Securely grip non-moving parts only.
• Do not sit or place extra weight on the head area of the sleep sofa mattress. Excess weight can
cause the sleep surface to tip up and back.
• Do not attempt to disassemble or service the pump or motor; no serviceable parts are inside.
Contact your La-Z-Boy
• Do not allow electrical cord to be pinched between moving parts or between the frame and the
floor. Do not place cord under carpet or in location where it could become worn.
• To reduce the risk of electric shock, this product has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the
other). This plug will fit in a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully in the outlet,
reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician to install the proper outlet. Do
not change the plug in any way.
• Do not attempt to disconnect the power plug by pulling the power cord. Always hold the power
plug and pull it out.
• If you give this product to someone else, include this Operating Instructions manual.

SET TING UP YOUR SLEEP SOFA W ITH SLUMBERAIR™MATTRESS:
IMP ORTANT:
Do not place water, or other liquids, inside the air cushion mattress. The air cushion mattress is
intended for air only. Do not place sharp, or hot objects on top of, or near, the mattress, which could
penetrate the quilting and damage the air cushion mattress.
1. Remove all loose cushions. Grasp the handle located in the center of the deck and lift in an upward
direction, and then out (F
2. Step backward and pull the sleeper mechanism out to the first extended position. When it
reaches this position, the center support legs of the mechanism will rest on the floor (F

4. Plug the SlumberAirTMmattress pump into the electrical outlet near your sleep sofa.

and Closing Instructions
ADJ USTING YOUR SLUMBERAIR™MATTRESS:
The SlumberAir™ Mattress allows you to adjust the firmness of the mattress to customize your
sleeping comfort.
To so ften the mat tress :
Remove the protective valve cap and release air. Lightly push down the middle of the valve with
your fingers (F

Remove the protective valve cap and add air. Connect the mattress air pump to the valve as described
in the set-up. Continue to make adjustments until you reach the desired comfort level (F
NOTE: The pump has an automa ti c air pressure bypass. You cannot over-inflate the mattress.
CLO SING YOUR SLEE P SOFA WITH SLUMBERA IR™MATTRESS:

1. Remove all bedding from the mattress.
2. Unzip the two zippers in the upper right hand corner of the mattress to gain access to the valve (F
3. Unlock and open the release valve. Do this by pushing the tab on the valve toward the center of the valve,
to unlock. Once unlocked, lift the valve up and swing open. The air will begin to rush out (F
4. Stand at the bottom, or foot, of the mattress and gently work the air out of the bottom of the mattress.
Do this by pushing down and moving your hands over the surface, toward the top of the mattress
and release valve.
5. Slowly close the sleep sofa mechanism to the first extended position. Use the handle in the leg tubing
to push the front legs down until completely closed. The mechanism frame will help push some of the
remaining air out of the mattress.
6. Turn the release valve back over into place, but do not lock. Make sure that the protective valve cap
is in place and secure (F
7. Zip the two zippers in the upper right hand corner of the mattress to close the quilting.
8. Finish closing the sleep sofa mechanism and mattress. Do this by grasping the handle area in the center
of the deck, lifting the mechanism up and then slowly push it down inside the cavity. Do not force the
mechanism into the cavity. Allow the air to completely escape, so that the mechanism folds down into
the cavity without any undue pressure.
