1. Locate the Power Transformer and Transformer Cord (on power recliners only).
• The Power Transformer and Transformer Cord are secured to the top of the rear seat frame. Carefully cut the cable tie(s) and remove the Power Transformer and Transformer Cord from the rear seat frame of each power recliner. Set aside.
- To reduce the risk of serious injury:
• Provide a clear path for operation of the back and legrest. Place tables and area rugs at a distance to allow the legrest to fully extend without rubbing or interference.
2. Locate the parts bag.
• Arrange the modular units in the approximate location of the room where they will be placed. Choose a location that is close to an electrical outlet if necessary. Gently roll the modular units onto their backs and the chaise modular units onto the armless sides to view the bottom of the units.
NOTE: Two armless sides cannot be connected without a console or wedge between them.
• A parts bag is attached to the bottom rail of each modular unit except the Console. The Console parts bag is located inside the drawer. Remove the parts bag from each unit.
• The parts bag contains (8) pan head screws and (2) support brackets (F
IGURE 1).
NOTE: Each unit comes with a parts bag containing two support brackets and eight screws. Not all modular units will use both brackets.
3. Determine the location and quantity of support brackets to be used.
• The black frame cover on the bottom rail is cut in several places to access the pilot holes and slots in the frame.
• The pilot holes are used to position the support brackets. The pilot holes are located on both sides of the console, wedge and two arm recliner, and on the arm side of the single arm recliner, reclining chaise and single wedge recliner (F
IGURE 2).
• The support brackets fit in the frame slots to connect the modular units (F
IGURE
4). The frame slots are located on both sides of the two arm recliner and on the arm side of the single arm recliner, reclining chaise and the single wedge recliner. The recliners have both pilot holes and frame slots (F
IGURE 3).
• The support bracket is also used to hold the armless side of the single arm units (F
IGURE 5).
• With the modular units rolled over, locate the pilot holes and frame slots. Determine which sets of pilot holes need support brackets in order to connect the modular units. A support bracket may be attached over the frame slot if necessary (F
IGURE 3).
TIP: Lay the support brackets out and decide where they are needed before attaching the brackets. Depending on your configuration, they may be needed to fit in a frame slot or to hold the armless side of a single arm unit.

Assembly Details:
Modular units with metal base rails have one locking latch bracket and one latch bracket on the right side (sitting) of modular units without right side arms, and two stud mounts with threaded studs on the left side (sitting) of modular units without left side arms (F
IGURE 6).
Modular units with wood legs have one side mount locking latch bracket and one side mount latch bracket on the right side (sitting) of modular units without right side arms, and two threaded studs on the left side (sitting) of modular units without left side arms (F
IGURE 7).
CAUTION-The purpose of the latch bracket system is to connect the units and prevent them from being separated. The latch bracket system does not provide adequate structural support for the movement of latched units. Do not move the units while latched together, damage may occur.
4. Use a T-30 torx driver to loosen the threaded studs to approximately 1", this measurement may vary depending on the fabric and style (F
IGURE 8). The
threaded studs are located on the left side (sitting) of modular units without left side arms.
5. Align the units to be joined next to each other. Move the unit with the latch brackets approximately 4" forward of the unit with the threaded studs. The latch brackets are located on the right side (sitting) of modular units without right side arms.
6. Slide the unit with the latch brackets back until the threaded studs are securely engaged in both the front and rear latch brackets. The rear bracket is not a locking bracket.
NOTE: Due to variations in upholstery and style the threaded stud length may need to be adjusted to fit into the latch brackets. Loosen or tighten the threaded studs to provide adequate clearance.
7. Continue connecting the modular units until all have been securely joined.
8. All modular units must be disconnected to safely move the modular group. To disconnect the units, apply pressure to the swing arm of the locking latch bracket (F

Legrest Tension Adjustment Instructions:
- To reduce the risk of injury:
• Use of this product requires adequate strength to bring the back up right and close the legrest. Selecting the maximum tension settings could make bringing the back upright and closing the legrest difficult.
• To safely exit the unit and prevent a tripping hazard bring the back upright and close the legrest.
Continue with the following tension adjustments after product assembly is complete.
Legrest Tension Adjustment Instructions
1. Stand beside the unoccupied unit and pull the release handle to extend the legrest. Make sure not to lean or put pressure on the extended legrest, as it will close. From under the legrest, lift the mechanism cover to access the tension adjustment wheels. The wheels are located toward the front of the mechanism, one on each side (F
IGURE 1). Each wheel has three adjustment settings.
2. The legrest tension adjustment wheels are factory set in the center position (F
IGURE 2). The center position provides average legrest tension and support.
3. A taller or heavier person may choose to increase the amount of legrest tension for added leg support. To increase the amount of legrest tension, turn the adustment wheels up and toward the front of the recliner (F
IGURE 3).
Both legrest tension adjustment wheels must be set in the same position.
4. A smaller person may choose to decrease the amount of legrest tension for easier closing of the legrest. To decrease the amount of legrest tension, turn the adustment wheels down and toward the back of the recliner (F
IGURE 4).
Both legrest tension adjustment wheels must be set in the same position.
5. Close the legrest. Test the new legrest tension setting and make adjustments if needed.
