2. Use this Heater only as described in this manual. An y
other use not recommended by the manufacturer ma y
cause fire, electrical shock, or injury to persons.

3. Make certain that the power source conforms to the
electrical requirements of the Heater.

4. Extreme caution is necessary when any Heater
is used by or near children or invalids and when­ever the Heater is left operating unattended.

5. This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is
wider than the other). To reduce the risk of electr ic
shock, this plug is intended to fit in a polarized outlet
only one way. If the plug does not fit fully in the out­let, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a
qualified electrician. Do not attempt to defeat this
safety feature.

6. Where possible, av oid the use of extension cords be­cause the extension cord may o verheat and cause a
risk of fire. If the y must be used, minimiz e the risk of
overheating by ensuring that they are UL listed, a
minimum No. 14 A WG, rated not less than 1875 watts.
Never use a single extension cord to operate more
than one Heater.

7. Do not operate any Heater with a damaged cord or
plug or after the Heater malfunctions, has been dropped
or damaged in any manner. Return Heater to autho­rized service facility for examination, electrical or me­chanical adjustment or repair.

8. Unplug power cord before servicing or moving the
Heater. Always unplug Heater when not in use.

WARNING: DO NOT DEPEND ON THE ON/OFF

SWITCH AS THE SOLE MEANS OF DISCONNECT­ING POWER WHEN SERVICING OR MOVING THE
HEATER. ALWAYS UNPLUG THE POWER CORD.

GENERAL SAFETY INFORMATION

When using electrical appliances,

basic precautions should always be followed

including the following:

9. Do not insert or allow fingers or foreign objects to
enter any ventilation or exhaust opening as it may
cause an electric shock or fire, or damage the Heater .
Do not block or tamper with the Heater in any man­ner while it is in operation.

10.To prevent a possible fire, do not block air intakes or
exhaust in any manner. Do not place on soft sur­faces, like a bed, where openings may become
blocked.

11. Always place the Heater on a stable, flat, level surface
when operating, to avoid the chance of the Heater over­turning. Locate the Power Cord so the Heater or other
objects are not resting on it. Do not run P ower Cord under
carpeting. Do not cov er Po wer Cord with throw rugs, run­ners, or the like. Arrange Power Cord away from room
traffic and where it will not be tripped over .

12. This Heater is hot when in use. To avoid burns, do
not let bare skin touch hot surfaces. Always use
handle when moving this Heater. Keep combustible
materials, such as furniture, pillows, bedding, papers,
clothes and curtains at least 3 feet (0.9 m) from the
front of the Heater and keep them at least 1 foot (0.3
m) from the sides and rear.

13.A Heater has hot and arcing or sparking parts inside .
It must NOT be used in potentially dangerous loca­tions such as flammable, explosive, chemical-laden
or wet atmospheres. This Heater is intended for gen­eral use ONLY.

14.This Heater is not intended for use in wet or damp
locations. Never locate a Heater where it may fall
into a bathtub or other water container.

15.Do not use Heater outdoors.

WARNING: REDUCE THE RISK OF FIRE OR ELEC-

TRIC SHOCK – DO NOT USE THIS HEATER WITH ANY
SOLID STATE SPEED CONTROL DEVICES.

OPERATION

(Figure 1)

1. Carefully remove the Heater from the bag and the carton.

2. Place the Heater on a firm, level surface.

3. Plug the cord set into a 120V electrical outlet. Be sure plug fits
tightly in outlet. A loose fit will cause ov erheating and damage the
plug. Plug and cord set may feel warm during normal usage.

4. When the Heater is initially plugged in, there will be a “beep” and
the red light will come on indicating that there is power to the unit.
The red light will remain lit until the Heater is unplugged from the
electrical outlet

5. Turn the Heater ON by pressing the power button (

).

6. The unit will display the current air temperature.

7. Upon turning the Heater on, the unit will be in the LOW heat
mode. (900 Watts)

8. Pressing the MODE button at this point will set the Heater into
HIGHT heat mode. (1500 Watts)

9. Pressing the MODE button once more will set the Heater into
AUTO mode. Notice that the displa y now displa ys a SET TEMP
indicator. (See Thermostat Instructions)

10.Pressing the OSC button will allow the Heater to oscillate back
and forth. To stop the oscillation, press the OSC button again.

THERMOSTAT INSTRUCTIONS

1. Press the MODE button until the display shows AUTO Mode.

2. To adjust SET TEMP, press the

SAFETY FEATURES

1. A thermal overload protector is built in to prevent overheating.

2. When an overheat temperature is reached, the Heater will be au­tomatically shut off. It can only resume operation when the user
resets the unit. (See reset instructions below)

To Reset Heater:

1. Unplug the Heater and wait 10 minutes for the unit to cool down.

2. After the 10 minutes, plug the unit in again and operate normally.

TROUBLE SHOOTING TIPS

If your heater shuts off unexpectedly or fails to operate, one of
the above-mentioned safety features may have been activated
to prevent overheating.

1. Be sure the power cord is plugged into a working electrical outlet.

2. Check your Thermostat setting. The Heater may be off because
it has reached the desired temperature setting.

If you have a problem that can not be resolve by the steps listed
above, contact Technical Assistance at 800-233-0268, Monday
through Friday, between the hours of 8am and 5pm EST.

MAINTENANCE

WARNING: AL W A YS UNPLUG THE CORD BEFORE MOVING OR

SERVICING.

WARNING: DO NOT IMMERSE HEATER IN WATER.
CLEANING: IMPORTANT! Clean the Heater grill with the

vacuum brush attachment of your vacuum cleaner. This will re­move lint and dirt from the inside of the Heater. DO NOT AT­TEMPT TO TAKE APART THE HEATER. Clean the body of the
Heater with a soft cloth.

CAUTION: Do not use gasoline, benzine, thinner , har sh c lean-

ers, etc., as they will damage the Heater. NEVER use ALCO­HOL OR SOLVENTS.

SERVICING: All other ser vicing, with the exception of general

user-maintenance, should be performed by an authorized ser­vice representative. Call 1-800-233-0268, Monday through Fri­day, between the hours of 8am and 5pm EST for the location of
your nearest service center.

STORAGE: Store the Heater with these instructions in the original

carton in a cool, dry place.

FUNCIONAMIENTO

(Figura 1)

1. Retire con cuidado el calefactor de la bolsa y de la caja.

2. Coloque el calefactor sobre una superficie firme y plana.

3. Enchufe el cable eléctrico a un tomacorriente de 120V . Asegúrese

que el enchufe quede bien ajustado. Un ajuste suelto puede
causar sobrecalentamiento y dañar el enchufe.

4. Al enchufar inicialmente el calefactor, emitirá un “bip” y la luz
roja se encenderá, indicando que está ingresando electricidad
a la unidad. La luz roja permanecerá encendida hasta que el
Calefactor sea desenchufado del tomacorriente.

5. Encienda el calefactor oprimiendo el botón de encendido (

(Figura 1)

6. La unidad visualizará la temperatura ambiente.

7. Al encender el Calefactor, la unidad estará en el modo de
calefacción BAJO (900 vatios).

8. Si se oprime el botón MODE (Modalidad) en este momento, el
calefactor se fijará en el modo de calefacción ALTO (1500 vatios).

9. Si se oprime el botón MODE (Modalidad) nuevamente, el
Calefactor ingresará en la modalidad A UT O (Automática). P odrá
observar que la pantalla visualiza ahora un indicador SET TEMP
(Fijar Temperatura). (Véase las Instrucciones del Termostato).

10. Al oprimir el botón OSC (Oscilar), el Calefactor podrá oscilar
sobre su eje en un radio. Para detener la oscilación, prima
nuevamente el botón OSC (Oscilar).

11.Para apagar el calefactor, oprima el botón de encendido (

).

CARACTERÍSTICAS DE SEGURIDAD

1. El Calefactor tiene incorporado un protector contra sobrecarga
térmica para evitar que se sobrecaliente.

2. Cuando se alcance una temperatura de sobrecalentamiento, el
calefactor se apaga automáticamente. Sólo puede volverse a
encender después que el usuario reposicione la unidad.

Para reposicionar el Calefactor:

1. Desenchufe el Calefactor y espere de 10 minutos para que el
Calefactor se enfríe.

2. Después que los 10 minutos, tapan la Calefactor en otra vez y

MOLESTE PUNTAS QUE DISPARAN

Si su Calefactor apaga inesperadamente o falla de operar, uno
de las características ya mencionadas de seguridad se puede

1. Esté seguro que la cuerda del poder se tapa en un trabajar salida

2. Verifique su colocación de Termostato. La Calefactor puede estar

INSTRUCCIONES DEL TERMOSTATO

1. Oprima el botón MODE (Modalidad) hasta que la pantalla
visualice la Modalidad AUTO (Automático).

2. Para ajustar SET TEMP (Fijar Temperatura), oprima el (

NOTA: Es normal que el calefactor se encienda y apague a las

INFORMACIÓN GENERAL DE SEGURIDAD

Al usar aparatos eléctricos, las precauciones básicas de seguridad

deberan siempre de seguirse para reducir el riesgo de incendio, choque

eléctrico, y daño a personas, incluyenda las siguientes.

2. Utilice este Calefactor únicamente de la manera descrita
en este manual. Cualquier otro uso no recomendado por
el fabricante podría ocasionar un incendio, un choque
eléctrico o lesiones personales.

3. Asegúrese de que la fuente de alimentación cumpla con
los requerimientos eléctricos del Calefactor.

4. Se debe tener sumo cuidado cuando un Calefactor sea
usado por o cerca de niños o personas minusválidas, y
cuando el Calefactor funcione desatendido.

5. Este aparato tiene la clavija polarizada (un diente es más
ancho que el otro). Esta clavija está diseñada para ser
insertada en un tomacorriente polar de una sola forma a
fin de reducir el riesgo de choque eléctrico. Si la cla vija no
encaja totalmente en el tomacorriente, dele vuelta. Si aun
así no encaja, consulte a un técnico electricista. No trate
de modificar estas características de seguridad.

6. Evite el uso de extensiones siempre que sea posible, ya
que pueden sobrecalentarse y presentar un riesgo de
incendio. Si es necesario usarlas, reduzca al mínimo el
riesgo de sobrecalentamiento asegurándose de que estén
certificadas por UL, que sean de calibre 14 AWG como
mínimo y que tengan una capacidad nominal de por lo
menos 1875 watts. Nunca use una sola extensión para
conectar más de un Calefactor.

7. No use ningún Calefactor que tenga el cable o la clavija
dañados ni después de que el Calefactor haya presentado
averías, se haya caído o haya sido dañado de cualquier
manera. Lleve el Calefactor a un centro de servicio autorizado
para su revisión, ajuste eléctrico/mecánico o reparación.

8. Desenchufe el cable antes de trasladar o dar servicio al Calefactor.
Siempre desenchufe el Calefactor cuando no esté en uso .

ADVERTENCIA: NO CONFÍE ÚNICAMENTE EN EL

INTERRUPTOR DE ENCENDIDO/APAGADO PARA
DESCONECT AR LA ENERGÍA AL TRASLAD AR O DAR SERVICIO
AL CALEF ACT OR. SIEMPRE DESENCHUFE EL CABLE.

9. No inser te ni permita la introducción de los dedos o de
objetos extraños en cualquier abertura de ventilación o
escape ya podría ocasionar un choque eléctrico o un

incendio, o dañar el Calefactor. No obstruya ni intervenga
en el funcionamiento del Calefactor de ninguna manera
mientras esté encendido.

10.No obstruya las entradas y salidas de aire de ninguna
manera para evitar la posibilidad de que ocurra un incendio .
No coloque el aparato sobre superficies suaves, como una
cama, en donde las aberturas pudieran quedar obstruidas.

11.Siempre coloque el Calefactor sobre una superficie
plana, nivelada y estable durante el uso para e vitar que
se vuelque. Acomode el cable de tal manera que ni el
Calefactor ni ningún otro objeto le pasen por encima.
No pase el cable por debajo de la alfombra. No cubra
el cable con ninguna alfombrilla, tapete, ni cosa
parecida. Coloque el cab le lejos de las zonas de ma y or
movimiento dentro de la habitación y donde nadie
pueda tropezarse.

12.Este Calefactor se calienta cuando está en uso. No permita
que la piel desnuda entre en contacto con las superficies
calientes para evitar quemaduras. Siempre use la manija para
trasladar este Calefactor. Mantenga los materiales
combustibles, tales como mueb les, almohadas, ropa de cama,
papeles, ropa y cortinas, por lo menos a 3 pies (0.9 m) de
distancia de la parte delantera del Calefactor y al menos 1
pie (0.3 m) de distancia de los costados y de la parte posterior.

13.Los calefactores contienen piezas calientes que generan
arcos voltaicos o chispas. NO deben usarse en lugares
potencialmente peligrosos, tales como atmósferas
inflamables, explosivas, húmedas o que contengan
productos químicos. Este Calefactor está diseñado para
uso general ÚNICAMENTE.

14.Este Calefactor no debe usarse en lugares mojados ni
húmedos. Nunca coloque el Calefactor en un lugar donde
exista el riesgo de que se caiga al interior de una tina u
otro recipiente con agua.

15. No utilice el Calefactor a la intemperie.

ADVERTENCIA: REDUZCA EL RIESGO DE
