Thank you for choosing the LANAFORM “INFRARED THERMOMETER». Combining technical sophistication, precision and
ease of use, the INFRARED THERMOMETER takes the forehead temperature, temperature of objects and ambient air.

The thermometer lends itself well to measurements being taken at home. With its ergonomic design, the INFRARED

THERMOMETER can automatically take contactless temperatures at a distance of 1 cm in less than a second. All you
have to do is aim the INFRARED THERMOMETER at the forehead to obtain the temperature instantly.

BASIC SAFETY INFORMATION:

When using this product, please make sure you follow all the instructions listed below. Any deviation from these
instructions may cause injury or aect the accuracy of the readings.
Contact a doctor if you have any concerns about the accuracy of the reading. Making any diagnosis or starting any
treatment without a doctor’s advice may pose a risk.

• Do not touch the optical lens.

• Always keep the thermometer away from heat sources such as stoves, radiators, etc.

• Do not use this device in a room in which aerosols (sprays) are used or in a room in which oxygen is
administered.

• Do not place the thermometer in direct sunlight, or expose it to high temperatures, humidity or dirt.

• Do not immerse the device in water.

• Do not drop the device and do not use it if it is damaged.

• This device must be used at an ambient temperature between 10°C/50°F and 40°C/104°F.

• Do not expose the thermometer to electric shocks.

• Do not expose this thermometer to extremes of temperature above 55°C/122°F or below -20/°C/-4.0°F.

• Do not use the device if the relative humidity is above 95% or below 15%.

• Do not use the device in the vicinity of large electro-magnetic elds, such as those of cordless or portable
telephones, etc.

• The accuracy of the measuring process may be disrupted if the forehead is covered by hair, a cap or a
scarf.

• Please wait at least 30 minutes after taking a shower, exercising, eating or drinking before taking any
temperature.

• It is recommended that the thermometer should be kept at room temperature for around 10 minutes
before use.

• If there is a problem with your device, please contact your reseller.

• Do not try to repair the device yourself.

• Do not take the device apart as a whole.

• This device is not intended for use by people, including children, with limited physical, sensory or mental

abilities, or by people lacking experience or knowledge, unless they are supervised or have been instructed
beforehand on how to use the equipment by someone responsible for their safety. Children should be
supervised to make sure they do not play with the device.

• Only use the thermometer for its intended purpose, as described in these instructions.

• The thermometer is pre-set when it leaves the factory. You do not therefore have to calibrate the device

when you rst use it.

• The forehead thermometer has a probe which is used to take the temperature on the forehead only. Do not
use it to take a temperature in the rectum, mouth, ear or armpit.

• Body temperature is generally lower in the morning and gradually rises throughout the day. Please there-

fore take your body temperature at the same time during the day and under the same conditions of use.

• The temperature must be taken between the eyebrows and roots of the hair.

• Do not place the thermometer on a scar or any problem areas of the skin, open wounds or abrasions or if

you are suering from any physical trauma.

• Consult your doctor if you are taking any medicines. These might increase your body temperature.

• The device’s performance may be adversely aected if the thermometer is used or stored outdoors.

• The thermometer should only be used indoors.

FEATURES

• “Body” and “objet” modes : This contactless forehead thermometer can take the temperature of the

body and of objects. The measuring range in “object” mode is between 0and 100°C (32 and 212°F). This
means that in addition to taking body temperatures, it will take the surface temperature of objects as

described below.

• Ease of use without any risk : With its ergonomic design, this thermometer is easy to use and tempera­tures are easy to take. Measuring and reading a temperature only takes a few minutes.

• Alarm indicator and sound alerts : When the body temperature is above 37.5° C, the indicator glows red

and a sound alert beeps 10 times.

• Memory function button : The thermometer can store up to 20 readings.

• Switches o automatically : The thermometer switches o automatically after 60 seconds of inactivity

• Measuring process : The measuring interval is 15 seconds and the measuring distance is 1 cm.

INFORMATION ABOUT THIS THERMOMETER

The value of the temperature being measured varies depending on the location on the body where it is taken.
For people in good health, it may vary between 0.2°C and 1°C (0.4°F and 1.8°F) on various parts of the body.

Lanaform’s advice

Never compare temperatures taken with dierent thermometers.
Tell your doctor which thermometer you have used to take your body temperature and where on the body. Please also

bear this in mind when self diagnosing.

The thermometer may overheat if it is held too long in the hand before taking your temperature.

This may skew the result of the operation.

FACTORS INFLUENCING BODY TEMPERATURE

• Individual metabolism of each person

• Age : The body temperature is higher for infants and very young babies than it is for adults. Greater

variations in temperature occur more rapidly and frequently in children. Normal body temperature falls

with age.

• Clothing

• External temperature

• Time of day : Body temperature is lower in the morning and rises throughout the day until the evening.

• Activities : Physical activity and, to a lesser extent, activity in the brain increase the body temperature.

Lanaform’s advice

Taking the temperature of the body provides an actual measured value for an individual. If you are uncertain about
how to interpret the results or get abnormal values (e.g. fever), consult the doctor treating you. This also applies in
the event there are slight variations in temperature when other symptoms of disease come into play, for example
agitation, heavy sweating, rashes, rapid heart rate, cardiovascular collapse, etc.

INSTALLING THE BATTERIES

- Remove the battery compartment cover in the direction of the arrow. (Fig. 4.)

- Insert 2 AAA batteries into the compartment, making sure each one is facing the right way. The positive (+) and

negative (-) polarity symbols are displayed on the back of the compartment cover (Fig. 5 & 6).

- Replace the cover.

Replacing used batteries

- If the low-battery symbol lights up when the thermometer is switched on, replace the used batteries with new ones.

Battery type and replacement

- Use 2 identical AAA 1.5V alkaline batteries. Do not use batteries beyond their use-by date. Remove the batteries if

the thermometer is not to be used for a long time.

- To avoid any accidents and misuse, keep the batteries out of the reach of children.

- Dispose of batteries according to the current local regulations. To prevent any risk of re or explosion, do not

burn batteries.

- Do not recharge the batteries.

- Do not swallow the batteries.

- Do not expose the batteries to re or they might explode.

- Do not dismantle the device except for its battery compartment.

- It is recommended that the batteries be removed when the thermometer is not being used for long periods.

SETTINGS

1. To select the mode:

Press the “mode” button once the thermometer lights up. After a second, the screen displays or
To switch from one mode to another, press the button. The screen will automatically display the “body”
mode if is selected and the “object” mode if is selected (Fig. 7 & 8).

Note: “body” mode allows the body temperature to be measured. “Object” mode allows the temperature of an object

or an ambient temperature to be taken

2.Selection of the unit

Switch on the thermometer. After a second, the screen displays °C or °F. Press the °C/°F “mode” button. Switch from
one unit to the next using the °C/°F button. The screen will automatically display the Celsius unit if °C is selected and
the Fahrenheit unit if °F is selected (Fig. 9 & 10).

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

Measurement process

Measuring body temperature

1. Press the “STOP/START” button. All the symbols are displayed on the screen. The thermometer emits a short beep,

then the °C/°F unit starts to ash on the screen.

2. Press the “mode” button to select “body” mode. The temperature unit ashes (Fig. 7).

3. Place the sensor close to the forehead, making sure it is placed parallel to it and take the temperature at a

distance of one centimetre. The thermometer automatically measures when the LED blue light ashes (Fig. 11).

4. It takes 3 seconds to display the measurement. Once the measurement has been taken, 3 short beeps will be heard

and the reading is displayed on the screen, ashing green (Fig. 12).

Note:

- If the temperature is below 37.5°C (99.5°F), the LED turns green.

- If the temperature is above or equal to 37.5°C (99.5°F) and below 43°C (109.4°F), the LED turns red and 10 short

beeps are heard.

- The thermometer will take the measurement again only when the °C/°F ashes again.

- If the sensor is placed on an incline close to the forehead, the ambient temperature will aect the reading.

- Infants’ skin responds very quickly to the ambient temperature. Do not therefore take the temperature with a

contactless thermometer during and after feeds because the skin temperature may then be lower than the internal
body temperature.

- The thermometer switches o automatically after 60 seconds of inactivity.

Measuring the temperature of an object

1. Press the “ON/OFF” button. All the symbols are displayed on the screen. A short beep is heard, then the °C/°F unit
starts to ash on the screen.

2. Press the “mode” button to select “object” mode. The temperature unit ashes (Fig. 8).

3. Hold the sensor 1cm away from the object, making sure it is parallel to the latter, then take the measurement. The
thermometer takes the measurement automatically. The LED blue light ashes (Fig. 13).

4. Once the measurement has been taken, 3 short beeps will be heard. The reading is displayed in green at the same

time (Fig. 14).

Note:

- The thermometer switches o automatically after 60 seconds of inactivity.

- Given that the surrounding environment may aect the temperature of the object, the reading should only be used

for reference purposes.

- If the sensor is placed on an incline close to the object, the relevant ambient temperature will aect the reading.

Measuring ambient temperature

1. Press the “ON/OFF” button. All the symbols are displayed on the screen. A short beep is heard, then the °C/°F unit
starts to ash on the screen.

2. Press the “mode” button to select “object” mode. The temperature unit ashes (Fig. 8).

3. Put your nger on the three-colour LED (Fig. 1 item 2) The thermometer takes the measurement automatically.

STORING READINGS

Reminder of stored readings

- The thermometer automatically stores 20 readings, the oldest reading being replaced by the very latest reading
beyond the 20th stored reading.

Reading the stored readings

- Press the “mode” button to select the storage mode when the thermometer has been switched o. Each
time the “mode” button is pressed, a number (from 1 to 20) is displayed alongside the symbol . After a second,
the measurement is displayed. Each time the “mode” button is pressed, the following measurements are displayed»

(Fig. 15).

Note:

- Reading 1 is the most recent reading and reading 20 is the oldest.

- The LED light will ash green or red depending on the stored reading.

Deleting the stored readings

- To delete all the stored temperature readings once and for all, press the “mode” button for 5 seconds until CLR is
displayed when the thermometer switches o. CLR then ashes 3 times to delete all the stored readings (Fig. 16).
Three short beeps will be heard. Then press the “mode” button and the unit will be displayed on the screen
indicating that the memory is empty.

Error messages

The symbols below are displayed if the temperature is abnormal.

MAINTENANCE AND CARE

Maintenance of the thermometer

- Keep the thermometer in its case when not in use.

- Clean it with a soft, dry cloth. Do not clean the thermometer with an abrasive or volatile product.

- Never immerse the thermometer or any of its elements in water.

Maintenance

Do not clean the thermometer with solvent naphtha,
diluent, petroleum, etc.

Keep the thermometer in a clean, dry place. Do
not expose the thermometer to very warm or cold

temperatures, moisture or direct sunlight.

Remove the batteries if the thermometer is not to be
re-used for 3 months.

Note:

- Lanaform cannot be held responsible for any failure if the care and maintenance instructions are not followed.

Do not use the thermometer if it is exposed to
electromagnetic interference (e.g. close to a mobile
telephone, microwave, etc.).

• Utilisez exclusivement le thermomètre suivant l’usage qui lui est destiné et qui est décrit dans ce manuel.

• Le thermomètre est pré-paramétré en sortie d’usine. Il n’est donc pas nécessaire d’étalonner l’appareil lors

de sa première utilisation.

• Le thermomètre frontal doté d’une sonde est utilisé pour prendre la température au niveau du front
uniquement. Ne l’utilisez pas pour mesurer la température rectale, orale, auriculaire ou axillaire.

• D’une manière générale, la température corporelle est plus basse le matin et augmente au fur et à mesure
de la journée. Veillez donc à mesurer votre température corporelle au même moment de la journée et dans
les mêmes conditions d’utilisation.

• La prise de température doit se faire dans la zone comprise entre les sourcils et la racine des cheveux.

• Ne placez pas le thermomètre sur une cicatrice ou sur une peau à problèmes, sur des plaies ouvertes ou

des abrasions ou encore si vous sourez d’un traumatisme physique.

• Consultez votre médecin si vous prenez des traitements médicamenteux. Cela risquerait d’augmenter votre
température corporelle.

• La performance de l’appareil peut être dégradée si le thermomètre est utilisé ou entreposé à l’extérieur.

• Le thermomètre convient pour un usage intérieur uniquement.

CARACTERISTIQUES

• Modes « corps » et« objet » : Ce thermomètre frontal sans contact permet de mesurer la température

corporelle et la température des objets. La plage de mesures en mode « objet » est de 0,0 à 100,0 °C (32,0
à 212,0 °F). Cela signie qu’en dehors des mesures de la température corporelle, il permet de prendre la

température de surface des objets tel que décrit ci-dessous.

• Simplicité d’emploi et utilisation sans risque : Grâce à sa conception ergonomique, ce thermomètre est

chez les adultes. Chez les enfants, des variations de température plus importantes se produisent plus
rapidement et fréquemment. Avec l’âge, la température corporelle normale diminue.

• Moment de la journée : Le matin, la température corporelle est plus basse et monte au cours de la journee
jusqu’au soir.

• Activités : Les activités physiques et, dans une moindre mesure, les activités cérébrales augmentent la
temperature corporelle.

La mesure de la température corporelle donne une valeur de mesure actuelle pour une personne. Si vous n’êtes pas

certain de l’interpretation des resultats ou obtenez des valeurs anormales (par ex : èvre), consultez votre medecin

INSTALLATION DES PILES
Installation des piles

- Retirez le couvercle du compartiment à piles dans le sens de la èche. (Fig.4)

- lnsérez 2 piles AAA dans le compartiment en veillant à placer chacune d’elle dans le bon sens. Les symboles de
polarité positive (+) et négative (-) sont indiqués au dos du couvercle du compartiment (Fig.5&6).

- Refermez le couvercle.

Remplacement des piles usagées

- Si le symbole de piles faibles s’illumine dès la mise en marche du thermomètre, remplacez les piles usagées par

des piles neuves.

Type de batterie et remplacement

- Utilisez 2 piles alcalines AAA de 1,5 V identiques. N’utilisez pas les piles au-delà de leur date de limite d’utilisation.

Retirez les piles si le thermomètre ne doit pas être utilisé avant longtemps.

- Pour éviter tout accident ou toute mauvaise utilisation, veuillez garder les batteries hors de portée des enfants.

- Éliminez les piles conformément à la réglementation locale en vigueur. Pour éviter tout risque d’incendie et
d’explosion, ne brûlez ou n’incinérez pas les piles.

- Ne rechargez pas les batteries.

- N’avalez pas les batteries.

- N’exposez pas les batteries au feu, elles risqueraient d’exploser.

- Ne démontez pas l’appareil à l’exception de son compartiment à piles.

- Il est recommandé de retirer les batteries lorsque le thermomètre n’est pas utilisé durant une longue période.

PARAMETRAGE

1. Sélection du mode :

Appuyez sur la touche « mode » une fois le thermomètre allumé. Au bout d’une seconde, l’écran ache

ou . Pour passer d’un mode à l’autre, appuyez sur la touche . L’écran achera automatiquement
le mode « corps » si est sélectionné et le mode « objet » si est sélectionné (Fig. 7&8).
Remarque : le mode « corps » permet de mesurer la température corporelle. Le mode « objet » permet de mesurer la

température d’un objet ou la température ambiante.

2. Sélection de l’unité

Allumez le thermomètre. Au bout d’une seconde, l’écran ache °C ou °F. Appuyez sur la touche « mode » °C/°F.
Passez d’une unité à l’autre à l’aide de la touche °C/°F. L’écran achera automatiquement l’unité Celsius si °C est
sélectionné et l’unité Fahrenheit si °F est sélectionné (Fig. 9&10).

court, puis l’unité °C/°F se met à clignoter à l’écran.

2. Appuyez sur la touche « mode » pour sélectionner le mode « corps ». L’unité de température clignote (Fig.7).

3. Placez le capteur près du front en veillant à le positionner parallèlement et prenez la mesure à un centimètre

de distance.

Le thermomètre prend automatiquement la mesure lorsque le voyant LED bleu clignote (Fig. 11).

4. L’achage de la mesure prend 3 secondes. Une fois la mesure eectuée, 3 bips courts retentissent et le relevé
s’ache à l’écran et clignote en vert (Fig. 12).

Remarque :

- Si la température est inférieure à 37,5 °C (99,5 °F), le voyant LED s’ache en vert.

- Si la température est supérieure ou égale à 37,5 °C (99,5 °F) et inférieure à 43,0 °C (109,4 °F), le voyant LED
s’ache en rouge et 10 bips courts retentissent.

- Le thermomètre reprendra la mesure seulement lorsque l’unité °C/°F clignotera de nouveau.

- Si le capteur est placé de façon inclinée près du front, la température ambiante aectera le relevé.

- La peau des nourrissons réagit très rapidement à la température ambiante. Par conséquent, ne prenez pas leur
température avec un thermomètre sans contact pendant et après la tétée, car la température de la peau peut alors

être inférieure à la température corporelle interne.

- Le thermomètre s’éteint automatiquement au bout de 60 secondes d’inactivité.

Mesure de la température d’un objet

1. Appuyez sur la touche «MARCHE/ ARRÊT ». Tous les symboles s’achent à l’écran. Un bip court retentit, puis l’unité

°C/°F à l’écran se met à clignoter.

2. Appuyez sur la touche « mode » pour sélectionner le mode « objet ». L’unité de température clignote (Fig.8).

3. Approchez le capteur à 1 cm de l’objet en veillant à le placer parallèlement à ce dernier, puis prenez la mesure. Le
thermomètre prend automatiquement la mesure. Le voyant LED bleu clignote (Fig.13).

4. Une fois la mesure eectuée, 3 bips courts retentissent. En même temps, le relevé s’ache en vert (Fig.14).

Remarque :

- Le thermomètre s’éteint automatiquement au bout de 60 secondes d’inactivité.

- Étant donné que le milieu ambiant peut aecter la température de l’objet, le relevé doit seulement servir de

référence.

- Si le capteur est placé de façon inclinée près de l’objet, la température ambiante aectera le relevé.

- Le thermomètre s’éteint automatiquement au bout de 60 secondes d’inactivité.

Mesure de la température ambiante

1. Appuyez sur la touche «MARCHE/ ARRÊT ». Tous les symboles s’achent à l’écran. Un bip court retentit, puis l’unité

°C/°F à l’écran se met à clignoter.

2. Appuyez sur la touche « mode » pour sélectionner le mode « objet ». L’unité de température clignote (Fig.8).

3. Passez votre doigt sur le Led tricolore (Fig.1 point 2). Le thermomètre prend automatiquement la mesure

MISE EN MEMOIRE

Rappel des relevés mis en mémoire

- Le thermomètre stocke automatiquement 20 relevés de mesure, le relevé le plus ancien étant remplacé par le tout
dernier relevé au-delà du 20ème relevé mis en mémoire.

Lecture des relevés mis en mémoire

-Appuyez sur la touche « mode » pour sélectionner le mode de mise en mémoire lorsque le thermomètre
est éteint. À chaque pression de la touche « mode », un numéro (de 1 à 20) s’ache à côté du symbole . Au
bout d’une seconde, la mesure s’ache. Les mesures suivantes s’achent à chaque pression de la touche « mode
» (Fig. 15).

Remarque :

- Le relevé 1 est le relevé le plus récent et le relevé 20 est le relevé le plus ancien.

- Le voyant LED s’allumera en vert ou rouge en fonction du relevé mis en mémoire.

Suppression des relevés mis en mémoire

- Pour supprimer dénitivement tous les relevés de température mis en mémoire appuyez sur la touche « mode »
pendant 5 secondes jusqu’à ce que CLr s’ache lorsque le thermomètre est éteint. CLr clignote alors 3 fois pour

supprimer tous les relevés mis en mémoire (Fig.16).

Trois bips courts retentissent. Ensuite, appuyer sur la touche « mode » , et l’unité s’ache à l’écran

indiquant que la mémoire est vide.

Entretien du thermomètre

- Conservez le thermomètre dans son étui lorsqu’il n’est pas utilisé.

- Nettoyez-le avec un linge doux et sec. Ne nettoyez pas le thermomètre avec un produit abrasif ou volatil.

- N’immergez jamais le thermomètre ni aucun de ses éléments dans l’eau.

Maintenance

Ne nettoyez pas le thermomètre avec du solvant

naphta, du diluant, de l'essence, etc.

En mode « corps », si la température mesurée est
supérieure à 43,0 °C (109,4 °F), le relevé est aché

avec le LED rouge.

En mode « corps », si la température mesurée est
inférieure à 32,0 °C (89,6 °F), le relevé est aché en

avec le LED rouge.

En mode « objet », si la température mesurée est

supérieure à 100,0 °C (212,0 °F) ou la température
ambiante est supérieure à 40,0 °C (104,0 °F), le relevé

est aché avec le LED rouge.
En mode « objet », si la température mesurée est

inférieure à 100,0 °C (32,0 °F) ou la température
ambiante est inférieure à 5,0 °C (41,0 °F), le relevé est

aché avec le LED rouge.

Piles faibles : remplacez les 2 piles usagées par des
piles neuves.

Le thermomètre est défectueux ou soumis à des

champs électromagnétiques.

Conservez le thermomètre dans un lieu propre et sec.
N’exposez pas le thermomètre à des températures très
chaudes ou froides, à l'humidité et aux rayons du soleil.

BELANGRIJKE VEILIGHEIDSVOORSCHRIFTEN:

• Zorg ervoor dat u zich bij het gebruik van dit product houdt aan alle onderstaande voorschriften. Niet-nale-

ving van deze voorschriften kan de nauwkeurigheid van de metingen beïnvloeden.

• Gebruik de thermometer uitsluitend voor het beoogde doelen volgens de aanwijzingen in deze handleiding.

• De thermometer is voorgeprogrammeerd bij het verlaten van de fabriek. Het is dus niet nodig om het

apparaat in te stellen bij het eerste gebruik ervan.

• De frontale thermometer met sonde wordt enkel gebruikt om de temperatuur aan het voorhoofd te meten.

Gebruik deze thermometer niet om de rectale, orale, oor- of okseltemperatuur te meten.

• In het algemeen is de lichaamstemperatuur ‘s morgens lager om in de loop van de dag te stijgen. Let er

dus op uw lichaamstemperatuur op hetzelfde tijdstip van de dag en onder dezelfde omstandigheden te
meten.

• De temperatuurmeting moet plaatsvinden in de zone tussen de wenkbrauwen en de haarwortels.

• Plaats de thermometer niet op een litteken of op problematische huid, noch op open wonden of abrasies

of bij lichamelijk letsel.

• Raadpleeg uw arts als u een behandeling volgt. Die zou uw lichaamstemperatuur kunnen verhogen.

• De prestaties van het apparaat kunnen worden aangetast als de thermometer buiten wordt gebruikt of

bewaard.

• De thermometer is uitsluitend geschikt voor gebruik binnenshuis.

KENMERKEN

• Modi “lichaam” en “object”: Met deze frontale thermometer zonder contact kunt u de lichaamstempe-

ratuur en de temperatuur van objecten meten. Het meetbereik in modus “object” is van 0,0 tot 100,0°C

(32,0 tot 212,0°F). Dat betekent dat, afgezien van de lichaamstemperatuur, ook de temperatuur van het
oppervlak van voorwerpen kan worden gemeten, zoals hieronder beschreven.

• Eenvoudig in gebruik en zonder risico’s : Dankzij hetergonomisch ontwerp is deze thermometer

eenvoudig in gebruik en kan de temperatuur zeer gemakkelijk worden gemeten. Het duurt slechts een

seconde om de temperatuur te meten en af te lezen.

• Controlelampje en waarschuwingsgeluid : Wanneer de lichaamstemperatuur hoger is dan 37,5°C, kleurt

het controlelampje rood en klinkt er tien keer een waarschuwingsgeluid.

• Geheugenfunctiee : De thermometer kan tot 20 temperatuurmetingen bewaren.

• Automatische uitschakeling : De thermometer wordt na 60 seconden inactiviteit automatisch

uitgeschakeld.

Meting : De tijd tussen 2 metingen bedraagt 15 seconden en de meetafstand 1 cm.
