To order individual reagents or test kit components, use the specified code number.
Read the Automatic Buret Instruction Manual before proceeding. A 50 mL test sample is used. Each mL of Sulfite Reagent C used is equal to 20 parts per million of Sulfite (SO
NOTE: Sulfite standards deteriorate quickly and must be tested immediately. To improve stability, Standard Methods (17th Edition, 4500

EDTA/100 mL Distilled Water) per 100 mL sample. The sample still must be tested immediately and taken with minimal air contact.

PRO CE DURE
1. Use a 1.0 mL pipet (0354) to add 2 mL of *Sulfite Reagent A (7327) to an Erlenmeyer flask (0431).
2. Fill graduated cylinder (0418) to 50 mL mark with sample water. Transfer to Erlenmeyer flask.
3. Use a second 1.0 mL pipet (0354) to add 1.0 mL of Sulfite Reagent B (7328). Swirl to mix.
4. Fill buret (0427) with Sulfite Reagent C (7329). While gently swirling flask, slowly add Sulfite Reagent C until sample turns a faint but permanent blue. Record buret reading.
5. Multiply buret reading by 20. Record as ppm Sulfite. EXAMPLE: The endpoint color change occurred when the level
of liquid in the automatic buret column was at the 7.3 mL graduation. The result of the test is:
7.3 x 20 = 146 parts per million
