IN TRO DUC TION
Softeners in the Model S Series
are designed to produce a large
volume of high quality softened
water. Each softener has a faucet
adapter that easily connects to
any faucet. As water passes
through the chamber, the resin
column causes scale-forming
calcium and magnesium ions to
be exchanged for
non-scale-forming sodium ions.
The Model S will soften about
70 gallons of medium hard water,
the Model S-6 about 100 gallons,
and the Model S-XL about 130
gallons, before the resin requires
replacement or regeneration.
Inexpensive resin refill packages
are available, or the original
resin can be regenerated by
chemical treatment.
NOTE: These softeners DO
NOT yield water suitable for
drinking.
