Baby Umbi (250-00501) is a full body, lifelike reproduction
of a newborn infant. It is specifically designed for training
professionals in the practice of umbilical cord
catheterization.

The manufacturing excellence of this trainer should provide
many training sessions when reasonable care and
maintenance is practiced.

Instructions:

1. Fill abdominal reservoir by pouring

blood formula through umbilical
opening.

2. Insert cord into umbilical opening.

3. Several preliminary catheter

insertions may be required before
cord vessels become sufficiently
lubricated with blood formula.

4. Drain abdominal reservoir and cord before storage.

lubrication with full
strength liquid soap.

When the end of the cord being catheterized is no longer
useable, cut off ¼ inch and continue to use.

Care and Maintenance:

1. Clean with mild soap and water; do not submerse in

cleaning fluids or water.

2. Use only on clean surface. Avoid felt tipped markers, ink

pens, acetone, iodine or other staining products and
avoid placing the trainer on newsprint or inked lines of
any kind.

3. To ensure longevity, each trainer should be cleaned
after each training session and a general inspection
should be conducted regularly.

4. Modules and all other parts should be drained and air­dried thoroughly before storage and disinfected when
needed.

5. Articulating parts will benefit from a light application of

talcum powder prior to training sessions.

6. Store properly between teaching sessions.

This product contains Natural Rubber latex
which may cause allergic reactions when in
contact with humans.
