Connecting your speakers to your PC
You can connect your speakers to your computer souncard, or to an external audio source, such as a CD player, cassette tape deck, or radio.These speakers can also be connected to your video game console using a video game console adapter, available at many consumer electronic stores.
Turn switch to “standby” on subwoofer.
1.If using a 2 channel sound card:
Connect green plug to PC or audio source, other green end to FR/FL. Do not use black or orange plug.
If using a 4 channel sound card:
Connect green plug to PC or audio source, other green end to FR/FL. Connect the black plug to PC or audio
source, the other black end to RR/RL, do not use orange plug.
If using a 5.1 channel sound card:
Connect green plug to PC or audio source, other green end to FR/FL. Connect the black plug to PC or audio source, the other black end to RR/RL. Connect
orange plug to PC or audio source, the other orange end to C.
2. White plug to front left speaker. (FL) Blue plug to rear left speaker. (RL)
Yellow plug to center speaker. (C) Red plug to front right speaker. (FR) Green plug to rear right speaker. (RR)

3.Plug cord into nearby electrical outlet and turn switch to “I” (on) position on subwoofer.
4.Adjust Volume and Bass.

•Placez les haut-parleurs de manière à ce qu’ils soient stables, car toute chute risquerait de les endommager ou de causer des dommages corporels.
•N’utilisez pas les haut-parleurs à proximité d’une source d’eau et ne les mouillez pas.
•Ne bloquez pas les ouvertures des haut-parleurs. N’enfoncez jamais d’objets dans les ouvertures ou les fentes des haut-parleurs du fait du risque d’électrocution ou d’incendie et laissez un espace
suffisant autour des haut-parleurs pour assurer une ventilation correcte.
•Ne les installez pas à proximité d’une source de chaleur, telle qu’un radiateur, un poêle ou tout autre appareil produisant de la chaleur (y compris les amplificateurs).
•Ne supprimez pas la fonction de sécurité de la fiche polarisée. Une fiche secteur polarisée possède deux broches dont l’une est plus large que l’autre. La broche la plus large est fournie pour votre sécurité. Si la fiche fournie n’est pas adaptée à votre prise, consultez un électricien pour la remplacer.
•Ne branchez les haut-parleurs que sur la prise de sortie audio de faible niveau de l’ordinateur ou d’un
périphérique audio.
•Evitez de marcher sur le cordon d’alimentation ou de le pincer, en particulier au niveau des prises, des
socles de prises d’alimentation et du point de sortie de l’appareil.
•N’utilisez que les éléments annexes et les accessoires spécifiés par le fabricant.
•Pour une meilleure protection contre la foudre, débranchez les haut-parleurs de la prise électrique et mettez l’ordinateur hors tension en cas d’orage.
•Débranchez cet appareil si vous ne l’utilisez pas pendant de longues périodes.
•L’appareil doit être réparé dès qu’il a été endommagé (par exemple, au niveau du cordon d’alimentation ou de la prise), ou si un liquide a été renversé sur l’appareil ou si des objets sont tombés dessus, si l’appareil a été exposé à la pluie ou à l’humidité, s’il ne fonctionne pas normalement ou s’il est tombé.
•Les réparations doivent être effectuées par des techniciens qualifiés.
•Les haut-parleurs doivent être déconnectés de l’alimentation en débranchant leur cordon d’alimentation de la prise secteur.
•Vérifiez que l’équipement est installé à proximité d’une prise secteur non obstruée.

•Do not install near any heat sources such as radiators, heat registers, stoves, or other apparatus (including amplifiers) that produce heat.
•Do not defeat the safety purpose of the polarized plug. A polarized plug has two blades with one wider than the other. The wide blade is provided for your safety. If the provided plug does not fit into your outlet, consult an electrician for replacement of the obsolete outlet.
•Operate the speakers only from the low level audio line out jack of the computer or of an audio device.
•Protect the power cord from being walked on or pinched particularly at plugs, convenience receptacles, and the point where they exit from the apparatus.
•Only use attachments/accessories specified by the manufacturer.
•For added protection during lightning storms, unplug the speakers from the electrical outlet and turn off the computer.
•Unplug this apparatus when unused for long periods of time.
•Servicing is required when the apparatus has been damaged in any way, such as when the power-supply cord or plug has been damaged, liquid has been spilled or objects have fallen into the apparatus, the apparatus has been exposed to rain or moisture, does not operate normally, or has been dropped.
•Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel.
•The speakers should be disconnected from the mains by placing the power/standby switch in the standby position and unplugging the power cord of the speakers from the AC mains receptacle.
•The socket-outlet shall be installed near the equipment and shall be readily accessible.
•Do not place any form of open flame source, such as lighted candles, on the apparatus.

Troubleshooting
See below for solutions to common problems. If you have more questions about your Labtec speakers, visit www.labtec.com.
Speakers produce weak or no sound.
•Make sure the speakers are plugged into an electrical outlet and the power switch is on.
•Is there output from the soundcard? Try connecting the speakers to an alternative audio source - for example, a CD player, cassette tape deck, or radio. If there is sound from the speakers, the problem is probably with your soundcard. If no other sound source is available, try removing the plug from the
soundcard and turning the speaker to maximum volume. You should hear a hum or buzz when you touch the tip of the plug. If you do, the speaker is OK, and you should check your soundcard setup.
One speaker doesn’t produce sound.
•Is the soundcard connection secure? Make sure the cable from the soundcard to the main speaker is properly secured.
•Is the balance control centered?

Haut-parleurs satellites
Avant d’installer les câbles, placez deux haut-parleurs satellites de chaque côté de l’écran de votre ordinateur en conservant entre eux la même distance que celle qui les sépare de vous. Orientez-les face à vous.
Placez le haut-parleur central sur votre bureau, devant le moniteur.
Placez les autres haut-parleurs satellites derrière vous à la même distance que les haut-parleurs avant.
Subwoofer
Comme les basses fréquences ne sont pas directionnelles, l’emplacement du subwoofer par rapport aux hautparleurs satellites n’a pas d’importance.
Pour obtenir une qualité sonore optimale, placez le subwoofer sur le sol sous votre bureau en veillant à ne pas obstruer l’évent des graves.Veillez à laisser un espace de 15 cm minimum autour du subwoofer pour qu’il soit suffisamment ventilé.
Comme le subwoofer possède une structure magnétique puissante, veillez à le placer à au moins 50 cm des moniteurs, unités centrales, lecteurs de disques et supports magnétiques.
Setting up your Labtec Arena™685, speakers
Satellite speakers
Before attaching the cables, position two satellite speakers on either side of your computer monitor about the same distance from each other as from you. Angle them to face you.
Place the center channel speaker on your desk in front of your monitor.
Place the other satellite speakers behind you and about the same distance apart as the front speakers.
Subwoofer
Because bass frequencies are non-directional, the subwoofer can be placed anywhere in relation to the satellites.
For optimum sound quality, place the subwoofer on the floor beneath your desk. Do not to block the bass port. Maintain 6 inches of spacing around the subwoofer to allow for adequate ventilation.
Since the subwoofer has a powerful magnetic structure, make sure it is as least 20 inches away from monitors, CPUs, disk drives and magnetic media.

Product Warranty
Limited Warranty. Labtec warrants that any hardware product accompanying this documentation shall be free from significant defects in material and workmanship for a period of one(1) year from the date of purchase. Labtec’s limited warranty is nontransferable and is limited to the original purchaser. This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights which vary under local laws.
Remedies. Labtec’s entire liability and your exclusive remedy for any breach of warranty shall be, at Labtec’s option, to: (a) repair or replace the hardware, or (b) refund the price paid, provided that the hardware is returned to the point of purchase or such other place as Labtec may direct, with a copy of the sales receipt. If Labtec chooses to repair or replace the hardware, Labtec may use new or refurbished parts, or comparable products. Any replacement hardware will be warranted for the remainder of the original warranty period or thirty (30) days, whichever is longer. These remedies are void if failure of the hardware has resulted from accident, abuse, misapplication, or any unauthorized repair, modification or disassembly. Further, for cordless devices, these remedies are void if you use battery types other than those recommended by Labtec. Upon request from Labtec, you must prove the date of the original purchase of the hardware by a dated bill of sale or dated itemized receipt.
DISCLAIMER OF WARRANTY. THE WARRANTIES EXPRESSLY SET FORTH IN THIS AGREEMENT REPLACE ALL OTHER WARRANTIES. LABTEC AND ITS SUPPLIERS EXPRESSLY DISCLAIM ALL OTHER WARRANTIES, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND NONINFRINGEMENT OF THIRD-PARTY RIGHTS WITH RESPECT TO THE HARDWARE, SOFTWARE, DOCUMENTATION AND ANY OTHER MATERIALS PROVIDED BY LABTEC AND/OR ITS SUPPLIERS, AND ANY WARRANTIES OF NON-INTERFERENCE OR ACCURACY OF INFORMATIONAL CONTENT. Branchement des haut-parleurs sur l’ordinateur
Vous pouvez connecter les haut-parleurs à la carte son de l’ordinateur ou à une source audio externe, telle qu’un lecteur CD, un magnétophone ou une radio. Vous pouvez également les brancher sur votre console de jeux vidéo à l’aide d’un adaptateur spécial disponible dans la plupart des magasins d’électronique.

Branchez la fiche verte sur le PC ou la source audio et reliez l’autre extrémité verte aux haut-parleurs FR/FL. Branchez la fiche noire sur le PC ou sur la source audio et l’autre extrémité noire sur les hautparleurs RR/RL. Branchez la fiche orange sur le PC ou sur la source audio et l’autre extrémité orange sur les haut-parleurs C.
