Safety instructions
for connection and usage
KÜPPERSBUSCH appliances are manufactured in accordance with the appropriate safety regulations.
Installation, maintenance and repairs should only be carried out by an
authorised technician, following the relevant safety regulations. Improperly performed work can endanger your safety.
Extraction appliances must not be fitted to smoke or fume chimneys or
to shafts, which are used for ventilating rooms with fireplaces. Before extracting fumes into a smoke or fume chimney which is not in use, please obtain approval from your local chimney sweep.
When extracting fumes, it is important to follow any official regulations.
The appliance should only be attached to a mains system which uses
the line voltage shown on the identification plate.
The appliance should only be operated with an effective all-pole discon-
necting device with a contact gap of at least 3 mm, e. g. a fuse.
Once installed, the mains plug must be accessible. Otherwise, the house-
hold fuse must be switched off when it is being cleaned or maintained.
Please take note of the safety instructions for the cooker hood combined
with the motor.
for operation with heating appliances dependent on internally circulating air.
Affecting gas-, oil- or coal-fired heating appliances, instant water heaters,
hot water tanks: When an exhaust air cooker hood is in operation, the air
necessary for combustion may be taken from the other heat source and the
danger of poisoning and/or explosion may arise.
When the hood and heating appliance are both in use in the same room,
safe operation is only achieved as long as a negative pressure of
0.04 mbar is not exceeded. This will prevent back-suction of the heat
source gases.
Make sure that sufficient volumes of combustion air may flow back into
the room by means of non-airtight openings in windows and doors, ventilation wall boxes (supplying/extracting air) or other technical devices, e.g.
interlock devices.
Example: When the window is closed, a switch stops the cooker hood
from operating.
When making an assessment, always take into account all forms of ventilation in the house. If in doubt consult your local chimney sweep.
