Introduction
Congratulations on your purchase of the Wireless Portable Speaker with Headset featuring Bluetooth® wireless technology. The headset is comfortable to wear and easy to use.
Bluetooth wireless technology
Bluetooth wireless technology is a short-distance wireless communication technology. The range of operation between Bluetooth wireless technology devices is about 10M (33 ft.). Bluetooth wireless technology does not require line of sight and can transmit through walls and other non-metal obstacles. Thick or reinforced concrete can limit the range.
The Wireless Portable Speaker with Headset complies with Bluetooth wireless technology version
1.2 and supports both the Headset Profile and Hands-free Profile. The Wireless Portable Speaker with Headset has an innovative structural and functional design that allows it to be used as either a car kit/speaker or a headset according to the user's needs.

Getting to know your Wireless Portable Speaker with Headset
Refer to the following illustration to identify the parts

Charging the battery
Your Wireless Portable Speaker with Headset needs to be charged before initial use and recharged when the red light blinks at intervals when you power it on.
Important: The rechargeable battery in the Wireless Portable Speaker with Headset must be disposed or
recycled according to local ordinance regulations.

The Wireless Portable Speaker with Headset can be charged three different ways:
Charging with the home power adapter
1. Connect the USB cable to the AC Adapter.
2. Insert the other end of the USB cable into the
speaker’s power jack.
3. Plug the AC Adapter into an appropriate
electrical outlet (or power socket).
4. The charging indicator will light up, indicating
that the Wireless Portable Speaker with Headset is connected to a power source, and is charging.
5. When charging is completed, the indicator light
will turn off.
6. Remove the AC Adaptor from the outlet.
Charging with your PC
1. Connect one end of the USB cable to your PC or
any other equipment supplying USB power.
2. Insert the other end of the USB cable into the
speaker’s power jack. The charging indicator will light up, indicating that the Wireless Portable Speaker with Headset is connected to a power source.
3. When charging is completed, the indicator light
will turn off. Remove the USB cable from the PC, or other equipment.
Charging with the car adapter
1. Connect the car adapter to one end of the
USB cable.
2. Insert another end of the USB cable into the
speaker’s power jack.
3. Plug the car adapter into the 12 volt power
source jack. The charging indicator will light up, indicating that the Wireless Portable Speaker with Headset is connected to a power source.
4. When charging is completed, the red light will
turn off.
5. Remove the car charger from the 12 volt power
source jack.
Charging the headset using the speaker base
Note: The speaker base must first be charged for at
least 5 minutes. (Charging for the entire unit may take up to 4 hours).
1. Insert the headset into the speaker base. The
indicator on the headset will light up (indicating that it is charging).
2. When charging is completed, the red light will
light will turn off.
3. Remove the headset from the speaker base. It is
now ready for use.
Note: You can use your headset while it
is charging.

Battery use and standby times
Headset
Standby time is up to 100 hours. Talk time is up to 4 hours. Charging time is around 2.5 hours.
Whole unit (headset & speaker base)
Standby time is up to 200 hours. Talk time is up to 6 hours. Charging time is around 4 hours
Note: If the headset and speaker base both need to
be recharged, charge the base for five minutes prior to charging both.
Multi-function button
The function of depends on how long you keep the button pressed.
A short-press is less than one second
A long-press is two to five seconds
Turning the device on and off

Long press until blue light blinks and the Wireless Portable Speaker beeps once, then release the button. The power is on.
The mobile device will ask if you would like to connect to the Wireless Portable Speaker with Headset. Confirm the connection.
Tur n o ff
Long press until red light blinks quickly, and the device beeps once, then release the button. The power is off.
The mobile device will disconnect from the Wireless Portable Speaker with Headset.
Volume adjustment
During a call, you can adjust the volume using and/or .
1. Press to increase volume.
2. Press to decrease volume. Notes:
There will be a low, short sound each time you press or ; the volume of this tone will increase or decrease as you press the buttons.
Please set your speaker to a suitable volume
between maximum and minimum.
You can also use the volume buttons of
your mobile phone to adjust the volume of the speaker.
Pairing
Pairing is the process of linking the Wireless Portable Speaker with Headset with your Bluetooth wireless technology enabled mobile phone.
Before you use the speaker with your mobile phone, the devices must be paired.
After pairing is complete, the speaker can only be used with the mobile phone with which it was paired. If you wish to use the speaker with a different mobile phone, you must repeat the pairing process with the new mobile phone. When you do this, the speaker will no longer work with the previous mobile phone.

Begin the pairing procedure with the speaker powered off.
1. Press for 5 seconds the until the speaker
beeps twice and the red and blue lights blink alternately. This indicates that your speaker is in pairing status.
Note: You will find that the blue light will blink first
before the red and blue lights blink alternately, which indicates the power is on. Make sure to continue pressing until the lights are blinking alternately and the speaker beeps three times.
2. Execute the search function on your mobile
phone to search for the Bluetooth wireless technology device. The search may take several seconds
3. After the search process has been completed
successfully, the mobile phone screen will display the name(s) of the device(s) found.
4. Select GCK800 and acknowledge that you
would like to pair the device.
5. You will be requested to enter a password,
passkey, or identification code. Enter “0000”, and then confirm. Now, your mobile phone starts pairing with the speaker.
6. When pairing has been successfully completed,
only the blue light blinks, instead of the red and blue that were previously blinking
Notes:
Confirm that your Wireless Portable Speaker with Headset is in paring status before pairing, otherwise your mobile phone will not find it.
If pairing is unsuccessful after about one
minute, the speaker will automatically revert to standby mode.
Pairing guarantees secure communication. The
Identification Code exchange will assure that there is an exclusive connection between your mobile phone and the speaker.
Once your mobile phone and speaker have been
paired, you will not need to pair it again unless you remove it from your mobile phone.
Connecting
Once you have successfully paired your mobile phone with the GCK800, you will need to connect the two devices in order to use them together. The mobile phone will ask if you would like to connect the device. On the mobile phone, confirm that you want to connect to the device.
You are now ready to use the speaker.
Disconnecting
The speaker will automatically disconnect from your mobile phone if you are too far from the mobile phone or if you power off either device.
Reconnecting
If your speaker is disconnected from your mobile phone, simply press and hold the , or until the mobile phone acknowledges it. Your mobile phone will ask if you would like to connect to the speaker. Answer
Yes to connect.

Placement of the device in the car
To maximize users' operating flexibility, the Wireless Portable Speaker with Headset has been designed to be located inside a car in a number of ways. Two placement suggestions are:
Insert the Wireless Portable Speaker with
Headset into the metal clamp and clip onto the sun visor.
- or -
Peel the paper from the back of the Wireless
Portable Speaker with Headset’s “Back-Stick Accessory” and stick it onto a smooth, flat surface in the car.
Notes:
Place the Wireless Portable Speaker with Headset in a position that will not block the driver's sight or interfere with safe vehicle operation.
The user should ensure the position of the
Wireless Portable Speaker with Headset inside a car complies with international, state, and local regulations.
Ensure the position of the Wireless Portable
Speaker with Headset won't interfere with any safety equipment in a car, such as an air bag.
The Wireless Portable Speaker with Headset
should be placed in a safe position where it will not dislodge and harm the passengers when the auto encounters bumps, collisions, or other accidents while driving.
Making a call
Make sure your the speaker is connected to your mobile phone before you make a call. The speaker can support “voice dialing” function if your mobile phone has this function. For details on voice-dialing, please refer to your mobile phone's user manual.
Voice dialing
Note: The phone must support hands-free and
voice recognition functions and voice dial must already be set up for this number.
1. Press for approximately two seconds.
The mobile phone asks you to say a name.
2. Press to cancel during voice dialing.
The phone beeps and ends the call.
Note: It is a good idea to use your speaker to
record your dialing voice.
Dial with mobile phone keypad
Dial numbers in the normal way. You may need to transfer the call from your phone to the headset. Otherwise, you will hear through the speaker when the call is connected.

Re-dial the last dialed number
In standby mode, press for two to five
seconds until the speaker beeps.
Note: Your mobile phone's model and settings
determine whether there is a keypad tone or not. Adjust the volume during your call with
and .
Answering a call
Before using the speaker to answer an incoming call, make sure that the speaker is connected to your mobile phone or that your mobile phone has stored the pairing information of the speaker and these two devices are within effective distance (approximately 10 M or 33 ft.).
When there is an incoming call, the ring tone is
heard from both the speaker and your mobile phone. Press to answer the phone.
If “automatic answer” function is set on
your mobile phone, the speaker will automatically answer the call without pressing on the headset.
If the speaker is off when there is an incoming
call, a two- to five-second press of will turn it on, and then press it for less than one second to answer the call.
Notes:
Some brands of mobile phones don't ring, instead, the speaker rings when there is an incoming call. Simply press to answer the call.
Some brands of mobile phones ring, but the
speaker doesn't ring when there is an incoming call. Press to answer the call when the mobile phone rings.
Ending a call
When using the speaker, you can end a call in any of these ways:
Short press
Press the end call button on your mobile phone
The call will end automatically when the party
with whom you're talking ends the call
Mute
In call mode, press and hold the until you
hear a tone. The microphone will be in mute mode, and the other party cannot hear you. While you have your phone muted, you may hear tones at regular intervals.
In mute mode, press the to return to
normal mode.
Note: When using the headset alone, you may
achieve this function by pressing the and on the headset at the same time.
Rejecting an incoming call
When using the speaker, you can reject a call in any of these ways:

During a call, you may switch from the speaker to your mobile phone in any of these ways:

During a call, you may switch the call from the mobile phone back to the speaker

If the speaker is turned off during a call, turn it
on and short press to transfer the call from the mobile phone to the speaker.
Note: These procedures will vary according to
the functionality of the mobile phone you are using.
Switching from speaker to headset
If you need to switch from a speaker phone call to a more private headset call, simply grasp the headset, pull it out of the base unit and insert the earpiece into your ear. The call is automatically switched to the headset only. Sounds will no longer be emitted from the base unit. To return the call to speaker, remove the headset from your ear and replace it into the base unit.
Three-way calling
If your mobile phone and the mobile service you subscribe to support three-way calling, you can also use this function with the speaker.
Follow procedures below when one party is on the line with you and the other is attempting to call you:
To continue on the active call and answer the waiting call:
short press .
To hang up the active call and answer the waiting call:
press for two to five seconds
until it beeps twice.
To start the three-way call function: press
for two to five seconds until it beeps twice.
To end the three-way call function:
press for two to five seconds during three-way call.
Important information
Maintenance
Keep this product in a dry place, and clean it
periodically with a soft cloth.
Do not store in a dusty place, nor in very high
nor low temperatures.
Do not disassemble this product, as this may
damage it.
Avoid rough treatment such as dropping,
knocking, or shaking this product.
Be sure to plug the adapter only into an
appropriate electrical outlet to avoid damaging the battery.

Battery
When using the Wireless Portable Speaker with
Headset for the first time, make sure the battery has been fully charged for at least 3 hours.
Battery maintenance: The battery can only be
replaced by a professional. If this product will not be used for a long time, make sure to charge it at least once every two months.
Caution: Do NOT dispose of batteries in fire
because there is a danger of explosion.
Power Supply
An alternative power adapter can only connect
with a compatible power source.
Hold the adapter, not the cable, when you
remove the adapter from power socket.
Do NOT directly spray liquid or cleansers on the
surface of your the Wireless Portable Speaker with Headset. Spray the cleanser on the soft cloth, and then clean the device with it. Disconnect the charger and turn off the device when you clean it.
Cars with air bags
Caution: Do NOT place the Wireless Portable
Speaker with Headset on top of an air bag or within the area an air bag can reach when it is deployed. If you place the Wireless Portable Speaker with Headset within an air bag’s deployment range, it may be ejected and may result in serious harm to the driver or passengers.

devices even if one or both of them have been turned off.

It varies according different brands of mobile
phones. Some mobile phones can be reconnected automatically if both devices are within the effective distance. Some mobile phones must be reconnected.
8. Why is there noise in my Wireless Portable
Speaker with Headset? – When the distance between your mobile
phone and the Wireless Portable Speaker with Headset exceeds the effective distance, background noise will occur accordingly.
If the signal for your mobile phone is poor in
your area, the Wireless Portable Speaker with Headset will also receive poor quality reception.
9. What should I do if the Wireless Portable
Speaker with Headset's sound quality is poor? – Try adjusting the volume of your mobile
phone or Wireless Portable Speaker with Headset. Also, check the quality of the signal on your mobile phone in your area.

(“KYOCERA”) offers you a limited warranty that the enclosed product or products (the “Product”) will be free from defects in material and workmanship for a period that expires one year from the date of sale of the Product to you, provided that you are the original end-user purchaser of the Product and provided that your purchase was made from an authorized supplier. Transfer or resale of a Product will automatically terminate warranty coverage with respect to that Product. This limited warranty is not transferable to any third party, including but not limited to any subsequent purchaser or owner of the Product. This limited warranty is applicable only to end users in the United States and Canada.
KYOCERA shall, at its sole and absolute discretion, either repair or replace a Product (which unit may use refurbished parts of similar quality and functionality) if found by KYOCERA to be defective in material or workmanship, or if KYOCERA determines that it is unable to repair or replace such Product, KYOCERA shall refund the purchase price for such Product, provided that the subject Product (i) is returned, with transportation prepaid, to a KYOCERA authorized service center within the one year warranty period, and (ii) is accompanied by a proof of purchase in the form of a bill of sale or receipted invoice which evidences that the subject Product is within the one year warranty period (“Proof of Purchase”).
