Wichtige
Sicherheitshinweise
■ Vor Gebrauch die Gebrauchsanweisung
sorgfältig durchlesen.
■ Das Gerät außer Reichweite von Kindern
benutzen und aufbewahren.
■ Die auf dem Typenschild Ihres Gerätes
angegebenen Netzspannung muß mit
der Ihres Stromnetzes übereinstimmen.
■ Schließen Sie das Gerät nur an eine geer-
dete Schutzkontakt-Steckdose an.
■ Das Gerät nur zum Wasserkochen benut-
zen. Keine anderen Flüssigkeiten darin
zubereiten.
■ Gerät nur auf einer ebenen, stabilen
Standfläche benutzen.
■ Das Gerät nicht auf einen heißen Ofen,
eine heiße Herdplatte oder einen Gasbrenner stellen.
■ Benutzen Sie das Gerät nie ohne Deckel.
■ Deckel nicht öffnen, während das Wasser
kocht.
■ Das Gerät während des Betriebs nicht
bewegen.
■ Vermeiden Sie, daß das Netzkabel oder
Sie selbst heiße Geräteteile berühren.
■ Vorsicht vor austretendem Wasser-
dampf.
■ Achtung! Das Gerät nicht überfüllen, da
herausspritzendes Wasser zu Verbrennungen führen kann.
■ Gerät nicht mit nassen Händen anfassen.
■ Art. 848:
Das Gerät darf nur mit dem dazugehörigen Sockel benutzt werden.
Wichtig: Bevor Sie den Wasserkocher
vom separaten Sockel nehmen, vergewissern Sie sich, daß der EIN/AUS Schalter des Gerätes auf 0 steht.
■ Das Netzkabel nicht mit heißen Flächen
in Berührung kommen lassen und nicht
vom Schrank oder Tisch herunterhängen
lassen.
■ Vor Reinigung und nach Gebrauch stets
den Netzstecker ziehen. Vor der Reinigung das Gerät abkühlen lassen.
■ Das Gerät, den Sockel (Art. 848) und das
Netzkabel nicht ins Wasser tauchen.
■ Das Gerät nicht in Betrieb nehmen, wenn
das Netzkabel oder das Gerät beschädigt
ist.
■ Wenn das Netzkabel dieses Gerätes
beschädigt ist, muß es durch den KrupsKundendienst oder eine ähnlich qualifizierte Person ersetzt werden, um Gefährdungen zu vermeiden.
Kabelaufwicklung
(Art. 848)
Unter dem Sockel befindet sich eine Kabelaufwicklung. Netzkabel auf die gewünschte
Länge bringen. Das nicht benötigte Kabel
unter dem Sockel aufwickeln.
Wasser einfüllen
Schalter in Pos. 0 bringen.
Art. 845: Beim Einfüllen und Ausgießen
immer den Stecker ziehen. Zuerst den Netzstecker ziehen und dann das Kabel vom
Gerät trennen.
■ Wasser einfüllen. (1)
■ Dies kann mit aufgesetztem sowie mit
abgenommenem Deckel erfolgen.
(2)
■ Nach dem Füllen den Deckel wieder auf-
setzen und durch Herunterdrücken verriegeln.
(3)
Die Füllmenge ist an der Wasserstandsanzeige ablesbar. Die Minimalfüllmenge
beträgt ca. 0,3 l und die Maximalfüllmenge
ca. 1,0 l.
Das Heizelement muß stets mit Wasser
bedeckt sein. Sollten Sie das Gerät bei nicht
ausreichender Wassermenge einschalten,
schaltet der Trockengehschutz das Gerät
automatisch aus. Netzstecker ziehen und
das Gerät abkühlen lassen, bevor erneut
Wasser eingefüllt wird. Das Gerät jedoch nie
über die Maximalfüllmenge hinaus füllen,
da sonst die Gefahr besteht, daß das
kochende Wasser herausspritzt.

Vor Erstgebrauch sollte der Wasserkocher
mindestens 2 x mit max. Wassermenge ausgekocht werden, um eventuelle fertigungsbedingte Rückstände zu beseitigen.
Gerät einschalten
Den Wasserkocher nur mit aufgesetztem
Deckel benutzen.
Art. 845:
■
Gerätestecker am Wasserkocher einstecken und dann ans Stromnetz anschließen. (4)
■ Gerät einschalten. (5)
■ Wenn das Wasser kocht, schaltet der
Wasserkocher automatisch ab.

Art. 848:
■
Sockel am Stromnetz anschließen und den
Wasserkocher auf den Sockel setzen. (7)
■ Gerät einschalten. (5)
■ Sobald das Wasser kocht, schaltet der
Wasserkocher automatisch ab. (6)
Der Kochvorgang kann jederzeit unterbrochen werden, indem man den Schalter in
Pos. 0 bringt.
Warnung! Deckel nicht während des
Kochvorgangs abnehmen. Nach
Gebrauch stets den Netzstecker ziehen.
Ausgießen
Art. 845: Zuerst Netzstecker, dann Geräte-
stecker ziehen.
Art. 848: Gerät vom Sockel nehmen.
■ Wasser ausgießen. (8)
Reinigen
Vor der Reinigung stets den Netzstecker ziehen und das Gerät abkühlen lassen. Den
Wasserkocher nur mit einem feuchten Tuch
abwischen und von innen ausspülen.
Keine Scheuermittel oder harten Gegenstän-
de zum Reinigen verwenden.
Entkalken
Den Wasserkocher von Zeit zu Zeit entkalken. Gießen Sie hierzu soviel Essig in den
Wasserkocher, daß das Heizelement vollständig bedeckt ist. Über Nacht einwirken
lassen (nicht kochen!).
Essig ausgießen. Dann den Wasserkocher
mehrmals mit max. Wassermenge ausspülen und 2 x mit klarem Wasser
auskochen.
Entsorgung
Die Verpackung besteht ausschließlich aus
umweltfreundlichen Materialien, die den
örtlichen Recyclestellen übergeben werden
sollten.
Entsorgungsmöglichkeiten für das ausgediente Gerät erfahren Sie bei Ihrer Gemeindebzw. Stadtverwaltung.

Important safety
precautions
■ Use and store the appliance out of the
reach of children.
■ The Voltage stated on the appliance
rating plate must correspond with that of
your mains supply.
■ Connect the appliance only to an earthed
mains safety socket.
■ Use the appliance only for boiling water
and not for any other liquid.
■ Use the appliance only on a firm and
even surface.
■ Do not put the appliance on a hot stove
plate, range or gas heater.
■ Never use the kettle without the lid.
■ Do not open the lid whilst the water is
being boiled.
■ Do not move the appliance whilst it is in
use.
■ Avoid touching any hot parts of the
appliance yourself and do not allow the
mains flex to do so.
■ Be careful of steam coming out of the
spout.
■ Be careful not to overfill the appliance, as
hot water spurting out can cause scalds.
■ Do not touch the appliance with wet
hands.
■ Mod. 848:
The appliance must always and only be
used with the base.
Always make sure that the appliance is
automatically or manually switched off
before taking the kettle out from the
base.
■ Do not allow the mains flex to come into
contact with any hot surface and do not
allow it to hang down from the table or
other worktop.
■ Always pull out the mains plug before
cleaning and after every use.
■ Allow the appliance to cool down before
cleaning.
■ Do not dip the appliance, the base
(Mod. 848) or the flex into water.
■ Do not use the appliance if the appliance
or the mains flex is damaged.
■ If the mains flex does become damaged,
it must be replaced by the Krups
Customer Service Department or by a
similarly qualified individual, so as to
avoid personal danger.
Flex storage
(Mod. 848)
There is a flex storage spool underneath the
plinth. Adjust the flex to the length required
and then wind any excess onto the spool.
Filling with water
Move the switch to the 0 position.
Mod. 845: Always disconnect before filling
or pouring out. First pull out the mains plug
and then remove the flex from the kettle.
■ Fill with water. (1)
■ This can be done with the lid either on or
off.
(2)
■ After filling, put the lid back on and lock it
into position by pressing downwards. (3)
The amount of water can be seen in the
water level indicator and should be neither
less than about 0,3 litre nor more than about
1,0 litre.
The heating element must always be covered
with water when in use. If the appliance is
switched on with insufficient water in it, a
special protective device will automatically
switch it off. You should then pull out the
mains plug and allow the appliance to cool
down before refilling with water.
Never fill to more than the above-mentioned
maximum amount, as there is then danger
of boiling water spurting out.
Before using the appliance for the first time, at
least twice a maximum filling of water should
be thoroughly boiled to remove any eventual
residues from the manufacturing process.

Switching on
Use the kettle always and only with the lid
on.
Mod. 845:
■ Plug the flex first into the appliance and
only then into the mains socket.
(4)
■ Then switch on the appliance (5) which
will, when the water boils, switch off
automatically. (6)
Mod. 848:
■ Connect the base to the mains supply and
place the kettle on the base.
(7)
■ Switch on the appliance. (5)
■ As soon as the water boils, the appliance
will switch itself off. (6)
The boiling operation can be interrupted at
any time by moving the switch to the 0
position.
Warning: Do not take off the lid during
the boiling process and always pull out
the mains plug after use.
Pouring out
Mod. 845: First pull out the mains plug and
then remove the flex from the
kettle.
Mod. 848: Remove the kettle from the base.
■ Pour out the water. (8)
Cleaning
Before starting the cleaning operation, first
pull out the mains plug and allow the
appliance to cool down. Wipe the outside
with a moist cloth and rinse it out inside.
Do not use any hard objects or scouring
materials for cleaning purposes.
Lime-scale removal
The kettle must have lime-scale removed
from time to time. Do this by putting so
much vinegar into the boiler, that the heating
element is completely covered. Allow this to
react overnight, but do not boil it.
Pour out the vinegar, wash out the boiler
several times with a great deal of water and
finally boil and pour away two fillings of
clean water.
Disposal
The packaging comprises exclusively
environmentally-friendly materials which
should be disposed of according to the local
recycling arrangements.
Disposal methods for the appliance itself
can be found by enquiry at the appropriate
department of the local authority.
