MA3-PS-4812 Quick Start Guide
This guide helps you install and use your MA3-PS-4812 for the first time. Go to www.kramerav.com/downloads/MA3-PS-4812 to download the latest user manual and check if
firmware upgrades are available.

Step 1: Check what’s in the box

MA3-PS-4812 External Power Supply for PoE
1 AC power cord
1 DC power cord

Introduction

MA3-PS-4812 is a power supply add−on that enables PoE powering of devices connected to MTX3-34-M modular matrix.
All normal static discharge precaution measures must be observed to prevent damage to the equipment.

Step 2: Installing your MA3-PS-4812

To install MA3-PS-4812:
1. Power off MTX3-34-M and all devices connected to it.
2. Remove the new power supply from its shipping box and anti-static bag. Reserve the original packaging including the anti-static bag for future use.
3. Install MA3-PS-4812 in the 19” rack, in the space above or below MTX3-34-M.
4. Connect the MA3-PS-4812 round power connector (of the included DC power cord) to the port on the rear panel of
MTX3-34-M.
5. Connect the AC power connector (of the included AC power cord) to the AC port and to the AC power source.
6. Power on MTX3-34-M and peripheral devices.

Caution:
There are no operator serviceable parts inside the unit.
Ensure that the environment (e.g., maximum ambient temperature & air flow) is compatible for the device.
Avoid uneven mechanical loading.
Appropriate consideration of equipment nameplate ratings should be used for avoiding overloading of the circuits.
Reliable earthing of rack-mounted equipment should be maintained.
Warning:
Use only the power cord that is supplied with the unit.
Disconnect the power and unplug the unit from the wall before installing.
Do not open the unit. High voltages can cause electrical shock! Servicing by qualified personnel only.
To ensure continuous risk protection, replace fuses only according to the rating specified on the product label which located on the bottom of the unit.
