Welcome to the Koss Cobalt™ Wireless Stereophone. Your new stereophone includes the
following feat ures:

· Frequency Response: 20 - 22,000 Hz

· Wireless communication

· Approximately 33 foot range

USING THE KOSS COBALT™ FOR THE FIRST TIME:

Charging th e unit:
It is recommended that you fully charge your stereop hone b efore use. To ch arge your
stereoph one, follo w t hese instructions:

1. Plug the small end of the USB charging cable into the charging jack on th e stereophone, and
the other end into your computer, OR plug the AC adap ter into the charging jack on th e
stereoph one, and the ot her end into a wall ou tlet.

2. The charging LED will illuminate RE D while charging .

3. When a charge is complete, the RED charging LED will tu rn off.

Conn ecting the Aud io Transmitter to your aud io player:
Simply insert the 3.5mm plug on the Audio Transmitter into the 3.5mm jack on your audio
player. If the plug does not completely insert in the jack, use th e incl uded au dio extension cable
to connect t h e Transmitter.

Connecting the USB Audio Dongle to your
Windows® PC*:
When you first connect the USB Audio Dongle to your PC, it will be automatically recognized
by Windows®.

1. Insert the USB Audio Dongle into a free USB port o n your PC.

2. The “Found New Hardware” message will be displayed on your screen. After the installation
process is complete, the message “You r new hardware is installed and ready to use” will appear.

3. To check that your PC’s aud io is being routed to the USB Audio Dongle, double-click the

speaker icon in your Windo ws® system tray. “Audio Don gle” shoul d appear in t h e lower left
corner.

KOSS COBALT™ GENERAL USAGE INSTRUCTIONS:

Using the stereoph one with the Audio Transmitter:
In order for the Koss Cobalt™ stereophone to communicate with t he Audio Transmitt er, the
units must be “paired.” Onl y one (1) transmitter may be paired with the stereophone at a t ime.
Foll ow these steps for pairing the stereoph one to the Audio Transmitter:

1. Turn the switch on the Aud io Transmitter to the “ON” position. The LED on the back of the
Transmitter will illuminate.

2. Hold the On / Off/ End Cal l but ton on the stereo p hone for 5 secon ds. You will hear the “ON”
tone through the stereophone.

3. The stereop hone will immediately begin searching for wireles devices, and th e co nnection
LED will illuminate intermittently.

4. When a connection has been established (can take up to 60 seconds), bot h the LED on the
transmitter and t he connection LED on the stereophone will flash twice every 3 secon ds, for as
lon g as they are paired.

5. You may now press ”Play” on your audio player.

Using the stereophone with the USB Audio Dongle:
In order for the Cobalt™ stereophone to communicate with the USB Audio Dongle, the units
must be “paired.” Only one (1) dongle may be paired with the stereo phone at a time. Follow
these steps for pairing the stereophone to the USB Audio Dongle:

1. Check that the LED on the USB Audio Dongle is illuminated.

2. Hold the On/Off/En d Call butto n on th e stereophone for 5 seconds. You will h ear t he “ON”
tone through the stereophone.

3. The stereop hone will immediately begin searching for wireless devices, and t he conn ection
LED will illuminate intermittently.

4. When a connection has been established (can take up to 60 seconds), bot h the LED on the
USB Audio Dongle an d the connection LED on the stereop hone will flash twice every 3
seconds, for as long as they are paired.

5. All sound from your computer will now be played through the stereophone. You can co ntrol
playback of your media player application b y using the Play/Pause/Answer but ton.

Using with your mobile phone:
The Koss Cobalt™ can be used with select mobile phones. To pair with your mobile phone,
follow th ese instructions:

1. Enable Bluetooth® on your phone (refer to the phone’s user manual). Turn on the
stereoph one. Check that no other device connects with th e headset by con firming that the
conn ection LED is no t flashing.

2. In the phone’s menu, search for devices.

3. Select KBT1 Headset.
