Where a safe work station is not guaranteed, it is important for the user to be electrically discharged before touching the product with his/her hands or tools. This is most easily done by touching a metal part of your system housing. It is particularly important to observe standard anti-static precautions when changing piggybacks, ROM devices, jumper settings etc. If the product contains batteries for RTC or memory backup, ensure that the product is not placed on conductive surfaces, including anti-static plastics or sponges. 1/ Scope
This documentation addendum is provided as a supplement to the main TRACe LoRa-MQTT user’s guide reference SD.DT.G74. It details the use of the 4G modem option of the LoRaWAN gateway TRACe LoRa-MQTT. The order code for the gateway with this option is TRACELoRaMQTT-EU-2 or TRACE-LoRaMQTT-US-2 depending on the region (a -C suffix is added if the secure Cloud broker option is ordered). The 4G modem option has to be specified at the time of the ordering of the gateway.

2/ Function
This option adds a 4G modem connectivity to the TRACe LoRa-MQTT base product which offers, by default, a wired Ethernet connection. The TCP/IP MQTT messages can then transit through a 4G wireless link to reach the MQTT server.
The modem is an LTE modem Cat6 , 4G/3G, including LTE advanced. A SIM slot is available to host the MiniSIM module provided by the telecom operator selected by the customer.

3/ Antennas and SIM card installation
Two antennas are provided for LTE modem operation and should be connected to the SMA positions A4 and A6, as shown in the figure below on the right side.
A SIM card of format MiniSIM, provided by the telecom operator, must be inserted from the maintenance face of the TRACe-LoRaMQTT. To access the maintenance connectors, the maintenance plate must first be unscrewed. The maintenance plate is located on the opposite face of the operational face featuring the main antennas, power supply and Ethernet connectors. The figures below show how to insert the MiniSIM card. Once the SIM is inserted, the maintenance plate must be screwed back on the maintenance face.
