Using MicroTicket Server
MicroTicket Server is a server based application that must run on the same system as the
PrintStation Manager. Its responsibility is to take job tickets and extract them. There are two
major portions in a job ticket:
One contains all files for the job, including
•PS files
•image files
•application files
The other contains the job ticket with all of the information that the MicroPress operator will
need to process the job.
Extracting a Job Ticket
Job tickets will usually be supplied by the customer via a removable media (Zip disk, Jaz
disk, etc.) or the internet . To extract the . mjt fil e, Micro Ticket Server will have to be launched.
To open the ticket choose one of three methods:
•Open the File menu and select Open Job Ticket
•Click the Open button on the Tool Bar.
•Simply drag and drop the .mjt file into the MicroTicket Server
Once the ticket is open, the customer information can be displ a yed by cli cking the View
Ticket Info button.
Click the More Info button to display job in formation.

Now, all of the job files contained in the ticket file should be visible in the Files contained in
Job Ticket window. The left column displays the file name (File Name). The right column
displays the target extra ction path. By default, this value is "no destination set".
Should this value not be changed the file will not be extracted. To change a file destinations,
choose one or more files and then select Browse or a custom desti nation from the Extract selected Files to drop down list.
Now that all of the file destinations have been selected, it is possible to start the extraction
process by clicking the Extract Files button.
When extracting files, two things happen; all the files selected are copied to the specified
directories and the job ticket containing the customer informat ion is sent directly to the PSM.
Since this happens "behind the scenes", the PSM has to be running. If it is not, a warning
message will be displayed:
Clicking Retry after starting the PSM will still send the ticket information to the PSM. Choosing Cancel will cause the fil es to be extracted but the ticket infor mation will not be sent to the
PSM.
It is possible to get a job ticket that contains no job files. In which case, the only option is to
send the ticket information to the PSM.

Ticket Assignment in the PSM
Manual Ticket Assignment
After extracting a job ticket, the customer information is sent directly to the PSM where it
resides in a hidden directory until it is assigned to a job. After the print job has been assembled and printed via MicroSpool to the PSM, the corresponding ti cket information can be
manually assigned to the job. This is done by right-cli cking and choosing Assign Job T icket.
The following dialog box will be displayed:
Choose the corresponding job ticket from the list and click Assign. The correct ticket should
start with the same name as the origina l .mjt file. Now the ti cket informat ion can be displayed
by clicking on the job and selecting Info, then choosing the Ticket pane.
Automatic Ticket Assignment
Automatic ticket assignment can only be done for PostScri pt files. When MicroT icket Server
detects a .ps file being extracted it writes an identifier into the file. After the .ps file is RIPed
and sent to the PSM, the ticket is automatically assigned to the job.
