What is MicroTiff?
The MicroPress MicroTiff is intended primar ily to convert TIFF files that have been produced by scanning a document. MicroTiff makes it possible to print a large number of TIFF files quickly by not going through a PostScript RIP.
To work with MicroTiff, TI FF files should be Black & White, 1 bit per pixel. Color TIFF files of any type are not cur r ently supported by MicroTiff. If t he file is not the correct type, it may be impor t ed into most page layout or photo re-touch packag es and saved as needed.
MicroTiff reads TIFF files, converts them to MicroPress format, and sends them directly to a Virtual Engine in the Print St ation Manager for printing. The TIFF files may also be printed to a disk location as a PSM job to be printed at a later date.
