PCL6 Printing

1. When printing with the Custom paper, set the size of Width smaller than Height. If the Width is larger than Height,
some image may be lost.

2. When selecting Add/Remove option in Device Option Setting, use Add/Remove button instead of double clicking on
Option’s name. If Printer Figure is not displayed correctly, reinstall the printer driver.

3. When printing Landscape image on A3, 11x17, Legal and B4, the combination of Z-Fold and Punch=Upper or
Staple=Upper 2-Points doesn’t work correctly. The output may be rotated 180 degrees, may be folded in the opposite
direction, and without punch or staple.

4. When trying to print an Invoice/A5 job with Corner staple and if only Invoice-R/A5-R paper is set in Copier, the staple
function is ignored. So, set proper paper size (Invoice/A5) in the Copier.

5. When printing the mixed orientation image which first page as Portrait with Punch=Upper option, Landscape pages
are printed rotated 180 degrees.

6. Only the default value is valid for Font Pitch and Symbol Set for PCL Setting in PageScope Light and Run Setup.
When want to use a value other than default value, print with printer driver or send a print data with a value other than
the default value.

7. Use any number from 1 to 9 for the leading number for the Password. If “0” is used, it will be ignored. For example,
because both “0001” and “1” set for Password from Printer driver will be recognized as “1”, set “1” in the Password
field when printing with a locked job.

PS Printing

8. If the Semitransparent box is checked, the job may not be printed correctly from Mac OS. To resolve this problem, you
should unchecked the Semitransparent box.

9. When you print with Invoice -R (Full bleed)/A5-R (Full bleed)/B6-R (Full bleed) and Lower Tray of Front/Back Cover
Insertion settings, the paper is required to be set in the Cover Inserter. However, those sizes of paper cannot be fed
from the Lower Tray of Cover Inserter, so the paper is fed from the copier's tray even if you set it in the Cover Inserter.

10. When you print with A6/A6-R (Full bleed) and Duplex printing settings, the message "This job will be cancelled
CONTINUE/EIXT?" is displayed on the copier panel. If you select "CONTINUE", the job is printed without Duplex
printing.

11. 2-up, 6-up layouts and incorrect staple or punch positions in Mac OS - If you print a job with A4 paper size with an
2-up, 6-up Layout and staple or punch settings, the staple or punch position is incorrect. Additionally, some punch
setting specified with 11x17 page size are not always correct.

12.When you print Landscape image on A3, 11x17, Legal and B4, the combination of Z-Fold and Punch=Upper or
Staple=Upper 2-Points doesn’t work correctly. The output may be rotated 180 degrees, may be folded in the opposite
direction, and without punch or staple.

13. If the Finisher is not installed, the job is printed with Non-Sort setting even though, you selected Sort setting.

14. When you print with Custom Size setting, the printed position may shift to the one side.

15. N-up printing in IPP Print from Office XP on Windows XP will be printed as 1 in 1. If IPP Print is not used, it will be
printed correctly.

16. When printing with Semitransparent checked in Window 2000, some object’s gray background in some paper size
may not be printed uniformly. To resolve this problem, install Window 2000 Service Pack 3 from Microsoft Corporation.

17. Euro character may not be printed from Windows 2000 in some fonts. To resolve this problem, install Window 2000
Service Pack 3 from Microsoft Corporation.

18. When HDD option is installed and the free disk space becomes extremely small (less than 372MB), the warning
message of Folder Error is displayed on the Client PC and you may not be able to print. To resolve this problem, you
should delete the job saved in the Print Queue to enlarge the free disc space.

19. HoeflerTextOrnaments, one of the fonts, is printed with narrow spacing. To resolve this problem, you should install
Adobe's ATM fonts or Microsoft Corporation's Window 2000 Service Pack 3.

Network

20. When printing with Locked jobs and Account Number from a Windows NT4.0 client to a Windows XP print server,
these functions don’t work.

Copier

21. When LCC is specified as paper source and send a job with a paper size that is not set in the paper tray, a
superfluous error message is displayed following the proper message on the copier panel. In that case, ignore the
superfluous error message, and set the paper of the size same as the print job into the paper tray or specify the other
paper tray.

Others

22. The maximum printable area supported by Copier is 297x458mm. If you specify the larger size from the printer driver,
some image may be lost.

23. Semitransparent object set in the application may not be printed correctly. If that occurs, uncheck Semitransparent
option.

24. If you turn off the copier without the proper shut down procedure, you may not be able to print via AppleTalk. To

resolve this problem, you should reset AppleTalk with Run Setup.
