Power Requirements
Voltage:120VAC/60Hz, 1500W, Single Phase, Grounded Outlet.
Outlet:For optimum performance the outlet should be a “Dedicated Line”.
The voltage between HOT and GROUND, should be 120VAC ± 7V
The voltage between NEUTRAL and GROUND, should be no more than 0.5V
The voltage between HOT and NEUTRAL, should be 120VAC
Voltage Fluctuation:± 10%(Coping performance assured)
± 15% (Paper feeding performance assured)
Frequency Fluctuation 50/60 Hz ± 0.3%
Installation Requirements
To ensure safety and utmost performance from your Minolta copier, it should NOT be installed in an area:
1Which is exposed to direct sunlight
2Which is in the direct air current of an air conditioner, heater or ventilator.
3Where it can be splashed with liquids
4Which has poor ventilation.
5Which does not have a level stable floor
6Where the copier may be exposed to sudden fluctuations in temperature or humidity.
7Where ammonia gas is generated.
8Which is dirty or where it will receive undue vibration.
Precautions For Use
A.
1Never place a heavy object on the copier, or subject the copier to shocks.
2Insert the power plug all the way into the outlet.
3Do not remove any covers or panels while the copier is making copies.
4Do not turn OFF the power switch while the copier is making copies
5Provide proper ventilation when making a large number of copies continuously.
6Never use flammable sprays near the copier.
7If the copier becomes inordinately hot or produces abnormal noise turn it OFF and unplug
it.
8Do not bring magnetized objects near the copier.
9Be sure to turn off the power switch at the end of the work day, or in case of a power fail-
ure.
10 Use care not to drop paper clips, staples, or other small pieces of metal into the copier.
B.
The Printhead of this copier uses laser diodes that emits laser beams. Use the following precautions when servicing this area of the copier.
When service needs to be performed in the laser beam path, such as when working around
the printhead or PC drum, be sure to turn the copier OFF.
If the job requires that the power cord be left plugged in, observe the following precautions.
Take off your watch, rings, and any other reflective object and wear laser protective goggles.
At the job site, select a place that is as far as possible away from the users and is enclosed by
walls.
Do not bring highly reflective tools into the laser beam path.

11. TOXICOLOGICAL INFORMATION
Health Effects from Exposure: No symptoms expected with intended use.
Toxicological Data
Acute Toxicity:
Inhalation, LC50(mg/l): >1.93 (Rats,4hour) *
(This was the highest attainable concentration.)
Ingestion(oral), LD50(mg/kg): >2000 (Rats) *
Dermal, LD50(mg/kg): No data available
Eye irritation: Slight conjunctival irritation (Rabbits) *
Skin irritation: Non irritant (Rabbits) *
Skin sensitizer: Non sensitizer (Guinea pig) *
Mutagenicity:(AMES test) Negative *
(*= Based on data for other Minolta Products with similar ingredients)
Local Effects: see Chronic Toxicity or Long term Toxicity
Chronic Toxicity or Long Term Toxicity:
Prolonged inhalation of excessive dust may cause lung damage. It is
attributed to “lung overloading”, a generic response to excessive amounts
of any dust retained in the lungs for a prolonged interval. Use of this
product, as intended, does not result in inhalation of excessive dust.
In a study in rats by chronic inhalation exposure to a typical toner,
a mild to moderate degree of lung fibrosis was observed in 92% of rats
in the high concentration(16mg/m³) exposure group, and a minimal to mild
degree of fibrosis was noted in 22% of the animals in the middle(4mg/m³)
exposure group. But no pulmonary change was reported in the lowest(1mg/m³)
exposure group, the most relevant level to potential human exposures.
Carcinogenicity
IARC Monographs/NTP(USA)/OSHA Regulated(USA): Not listed
In 1996 the IARC reevaluated carbon black as a Group 2B carcinogen (possible
human carcinogen). This evaluation is given to Carbon Black for which
there is inadequate human evidence, but sufficient animal evidence. The
latter is based upon the development of lung tumors in rats receiving
chronic inhalation exposures to free carbon black at levels that induce
particle overload of the lung.
Studies performed in animal models other than rats have not demonstrated
an association between carbon black and lung tumors. Moreover, a two-year
cancer bioassay using a typical toner preparation containing carbon black
demonstrated no association between toner exposure and tumor development
in rats.

Moreover, a two-year
cancer bioassay using a typical toner preparation containing carbon black
demonstrated no association between toner exposure and tumor development
in rats.
