IT bit (Image Tag bit) Technology
A collection of four technologies:
• laser exposure with nanosecond pulse control for
precise dot placement of each colour,
• dot position control to write in fine resolution (1/256 of
total dot width) for detailed edges of fine lines and text

• multi-bit screening that performs 4 bit processing in the
engine to express fine gradations, and

CRS (Colour Retention and Stability) Technology

Simitri HD polymerised toner offers high
image quality
Unique Engineered Simitri HD Polymerised Toner
The particles in Simitri HD toner are extremely small and
consistent in shape, ensuring improved colour photo and
illustration quality and clear reproduction of text and line
drawings. The smooth outer surface and evenly dispersed
wax and colour pigment offer a great hold and a consistent
finish for high image quality across diverse media.
Oil-less Fusing System
A special compound fusing process delivers high-quality,
low-gloss output that allows you to celloglase and use
post finishing equipment easily.
High Durability
Simitri HD toner offers resistance to fading comparable
to offset ink and excellent resistance to peeling compared
to other conventional toners. Documents can be stored
for long periods of time and still retain the same high
image quality as the day they were printed.
Detailed Reproduction of Fine Lines
Halftones and fine characters are reproduced with greater
precision than conventional pulverised toner. This gives
documents a professional-looking clarity and refinement.
Low Temperature Fixing Reduces Paper Stress
The bizhub PRO C5501 Professional affixes Simitri HD
toner using less heat energy than previous models.
By reducing excess heat, this fixing process minimises
paper stress allowing for an extensive range of media
to be used.

Image quality

images for print.
1,800 dpi equivalent x 600 dpi resolution
Thanks to exclusive smoothing technology, documents
can be output at a stunning 1,800 dpi equivalent x
600 dpi resolution.
At the same time, optical sensors monitor the colour
registration mark on the transfer belt, allowing for
automatic correction of misalignment between colours.
Doing so helps to improve the precision of colour output.
Text enhancement
During printing, text data is isolated from image data
and processed to best enhance reproduction. Detailed
outlines are precisely defined, while reversed text and fine
text are optimised to clearly stand out.
Detailed reproduction of small characters
A newly developed technology controls the screen by
adjusting exposure time of the engine’s lasers. Text at
small point sizes are not only legible, but very clear.
Stable image quality and colour alignment
The transfer belt features an optical sensor to monitor
the density of toner and provide instructions such as
adjusting laser strength and screen gradation to maintain
consistency and precise coverage, even during long runs.

Better registration accuracy for two-sided printing
Robust ADU design
The ADU is built on a sturdy steel chassis for precise,
stable performance. An additional conveyance roller
reduces skew of thick and coated paper, while increasing
overall paper feed capability.
Fine-tuning image placement and registration
From the touch panel, users can make slight
adjustments to image position (in 0.1 mm increments),
and magnification (in 0.01% increments) for length
and width. An exclusive chart can also be printed and
measured for accuracy, enabling on-screen registration
adjustments by tray.
Advanced image alignment sensors
The position of each sheet that passes through the
bizhub PRO C5501 Professional is checked by a series
of centering detection sensors to help ensure high
registration accuracy.

a 80 GB HDD and 512 MB of standard memory is the pro-level print controller that

From data manipulation to imposition and
bookmaking EFI Impose (Fiery)
This optional software allows you to make adjustments
to files that have already been spooled. Editing
features include combining data from multiple files
and applications, replacing pages and creating page
impositions for saddle stitching and folding. With EFI
Impose, it’s easy to create new files as well as manage
pre-existing files.
Spot-On (Fiery)
Giving you the ability to create, adjust, and use custom
spot colours, Spot-On simplifies the process of jobspecific colour management. Spot colour data for DIC,
TOYO, HKS, and Pantone are pre-installed and spot
colours can be edited and saved with CMYK values.

WorkStation (Fiery)
A powerful network management tool, Command
WorkStation gives you a high level of control right from
your PC. Among other functions, spooled jobs can be
reprinted and the order of queued jobs can be rearranged
to prioritise output.

Adjust colour settings to suit paper types and automate
colour document workflow with ColorWise, the colour
management system that ensures consistent colour
across applications, computer platforms, and colour

Hot Folders (Fiery)
This timesaving feature allows you to simply drag and
drop a file into a preset folder to begin printing right
from a network PC. Job tickets containing user-defined
output instructions for colour, size, and other settings are
automatically created and embedded in the designated
Hot Folder before being sent to the print controller
for processing. The result is full automation of the
printing process.
Fiery Calibrator (Fiery)
Fiery Calibrator enables the main body scanner
to measure 272 colours, making it useful as a
high-precision colour measurement tool to calibrate
the one line bizhub PRO C5501 Professional.

FS-607 Staple Finisher
The multi-purpose FS-607 excels in a number of areas: stapling
up to 50 sheets, saddle stitching 20 sheets (80 pages), and offering
centre-folding and letter-folding. With the optional PK-512 Punch Kit
and PI-502 Post Inserter attached, the FS-607 can also be used for
hole punching and page insertion.

The bizhub PRO C5501 Professional features a large
touch-panel with an intuitive, colour interface. Despite
the wealth of functions available, guide messages easily
direct users through every step, from selecting paper
size to setting finishing options. The panel is mounted
on a swivelling arm that can be swung and tilted to
accommodate the requirements of every user.
Front access for easy maintenance
Beyond easy replenishment of paper and toner supplies,
user-friendly front access also allows simple maintenance
to internal parts such as the paper feed path and output
areas. In the unlikely event of a paper jam, it can quickly
be cleared without moving the machine.
Easy-grip parts
Following the precepts of universal design, all trays
feature handles that enable comfortable opening and
closing with either an underhand or overhand grip. This
idea even extends to the RADF, which is also fitted with
a handle that requires minimal effort.
