ThecNODE®Microtransponderisalightandcompactunitdesignedforusebydivers andshallowwaterROV’s.OperatingonKongsbergCymbaldigitalacousticprotocols, thecNODE®MicroprovidestheoptimalpositioningperformancewiththeKongsberg rangeofSSBLsystems,fromµPAP®throughtoHiP AP®.
ThecNODE®MicroisextremelyexiblefeaturingCymbaldigitaltelemetryand bothSSBL&LongBaselinepositioningcapabilities.Byhighrangeaccuraciesitcan measurebaselinesbetweentranspondersontheseabedprovidecapabilitiesforsimple divermetrologyorarcheology.
Thetelemetrycapabilityallowsthebatterystatustobereadduringoperationandthe integratedtiltsensorcanbeturnedonandoffwithpositioningupdates.Multiple cNODE®MicrotransponderscanbeinterrogatedsimultaneouslyinSSBLpositioning modeusingtheµPAP®andHiPAP®Fasttrackfeaturetoensurethefastestpossible updatesduringoperation.
TheunithasabuiltinLi-Ionbatterypackofferinglongtimeoperation.

ThefollowinggeneralsupplyconditionsapplytothisKongsbergcNODEMicrodelivery.

Receipt,unpackingandstorage

Uponacceptingshipmentoftheequipment,theshipyardand/orthedealermustensure thatthedeliveryiscompleteandinspecteachshippingcontainerforevidenceofphysical damage.
Iftheinspectionrevealsanyindicationofcrushing,dropping,immersioninwateror anyotherformofdamage,therecipientshouldrequestthatarepresentativefromthe companyusedtotransporttheequipmentbepresentduringunpacking.
Allequipmentmustbeinspectedforphysicaldamage,i.e.brokencontrolsandindicators, dents,scratchesetc.duringunpacking.Ifanydamagetotheequipmentisdiscovered,the recipientmustnotifyboththetransportationcompanyandKongsbergMaritimesothat KongsbergMaritimecanarrangeforreplacementorrepairofthedamagedequipment.
Onceunpacked,theequipmentmustbestoredinacontrolledenvironmentwithan atmospherefreeofcorrosiveagents,excessivehumidityortemperatureextremes.
Theequipmentmustbecoveredtoprotectitfromdustandotherformsofcontamination whenstored.

Equipmentresponsibility

Unlessotherwisestatedinthecontract,theshipyarddoingtheinstallationand/or equipmentdealerbecomesfullyresponsiblefortheequipmentuponreceipt.

Theentireinstallationprocess
Commissioning
Theperiodoftimebetweencommissioningandthenalacceptanceoftheequipment

Batterycharger

ItchargestheinternalTransponderbatteryinapproximately1hour.TheLEDcharge statusindicatorshowswhenchargingiscomplete.
TTC30(TransponderT estandConguration unit)
TheTTC30unitisforondecktestingandcongurationofthemediumfrequency Transponders.TheTTC30cantestallKONGSBERGTransponderchannels,Cymbal andHPR400.ItcanalsotesttelemetryTransponderswithinternalandexternalsensors.

Generalacoustic
considerations
Acousticrange
Thedepthratingshouldnotbeconfusedwithacousticrange.Theacousticrangeis dependentonmanyfactors,andsomeofthefactorsareoutsidecontroloftheuser.
Vesselsystem
Thedirectivityandcoverageareaforthevesselsystemisdifferent,dependingonwhich systemyouareusing.Somesystemshavehighdirectivityandomnidirectionalcoverage, whileothersystemshasreducedcoverageandlessdirectivity.Thetranspondershould alwaysbewithinthecoverageconeofthevesselsystem.
Transducertype
Therearedifferenttypesoftransducersusedonthetransponders.Anomnidirectional transducer(suchasaTD180)coversalargearea,buthaslessacousticpower comparedtoafocusedtransducer(e.g.TD50V).However,afocusedsignalgivesless footprint/coverage.Thevesselshouldalwaysbewithinthesignalfootprintofthe transponder.
TXpower
Theabilitytodetectsignalsdependsonthesignalstrength.Thetransmissionpowercan beadjusted,bothforthevesselsystemandforthetransponder.
Acousticnoise
Acousticnoiseispresentatallvessels.Atgivenconditions,thenoiselevelcanbe excessive.Acousticnoiseiscausedbymainpropellersandthrusters,andinsome instancesalsofrommachinery/pumpsonboard.Heavypropeller/thrusteruseoralso wavescanalsogenerateairbubbles,whichcangetinfrontofthevesseltransducerand blocktheacousticsignal.
