Receipt,unpackingandstorage

Uponacceptingshipmentoftheequipment,theshipyardand/orthedealershouldensure thatthedeliveryiscompleteandinspecteachshippingcontainerforevidenceofphysical damage.Ifthisinspectionrevealsanyindicationofcrushing,dropping,immersionin wateroranyotherformofdamage,therecipientshouldrequestthatarepresentative fromthecompanyusedtotransporttheequipmentbepresentduringunpacking.
Allequipmentmustbeinspectedforphysicaldamage,i.e.brokencontrolsandindicators, dents,scratchesetc.duringunpacking.Ifanydamagetotheequipmentisdiscovered,the recipientshouldnotifyboththetransportationcompanyandKongsbergMaritimesothat KongsbergMaritimecanarrangeforreplacementorrepairofthedamagedequipment.
Onceunpacked,theequipmentmustbestoredinacontrolledenvironmentwithan atmospherefreeofcorrosiveagents,excessivehumidityortemperatureextremes.The equipmentmustbecoveredtoprotectitfromdustandotherformsofcontamination whenstored.

2SecuretheSCUwithfourM12boltswithnutsandspringwashers.

Installingthesubseatransducer

Purpose
Thisprocedureexplainshowtoinstallthesubseatransducer.
Procedure
1Thetwotransducersmustbemountedonthevalveframework.Thetransducers
mustbelocatedatoppositesidesofthevalvepackage,andmustbepositionedsuch thattheyhaveaclearlineofsighttothesurface.Theyshouldbelocatedasfar awayfromthevalvestructureandotherreectivesurfacesaspossibletoreducethe effectsofacousticshadowingandechoes.
Note
Thesubseatransducershouldbepositionedminimum2.5metresfromthevalve structure.

Purpose

Procedure

offbeforeconnectingthe externalquadbatteries. MakesuretheACUis switchedoffandthelidsare offtheSCUs.
2Securethecableonthestructureforthevalvepackagesothattheydonotpresenta
hazardtoROVsetc.Makesurethereisslackformovingparts.
3Mountanyprotectivecoversnecessarytopreventthecablesbeingdamaged. 4ConnectthecabletotheSCUasindicated.Connecttheotherendtotheexternal
batteryunit. ThesearecablesACS500/C4andACS500/C5.
