Balance KH 5501 hair trimmer
for nose, ears and sideburns
1. Intended use
You can use this hair trimmer for
- gently removing hair from the nose and ears
- trimming beard and sideburns.
This appliance is intended exclusively for private use.
It is not intended for commercial applications.

To prevent injuries:
Insert the appliance into the nostril or ear only as
far as the narrow tip will reach.
Do not use the appliance if the blades are warped
or damaged.
Protect the blades from knocks and do not use
excessive force. This will prevent the blades from
becoming damaged.
Do not open the casing: there are no operating
elements inside.
Do not allow children or elderly persons to play with
the appliance unsupervised. These are not always
able to assess possible dangers correctly.

3. Inserting the battery
➩ Turn the battery compartment lid anticlockwise to open
the battery compartment.
➩ Insert one AA/UM3 type battery. Observe the correct
polarity (this is indicated in the battery compartment).
➩ Close the battery compartment.
For the best results, we recommend using alkaline
batteries.
The battery is not included in the package contents.
4. Changing the blade attachment
➩ Select a blade attachment.
➩ Set the attachment on the hand unit, offset at an
angle of about 45°.
➩ Turn the attachment clockwise to fasten.
➩ Turn the attachment anticlockwise to release and
remove.
5. Removing nasal and ear hairs
➩ Attach the blade attachment for nose/ear hair as
described in section 4.
➩ Make sure that the attachment is correctly fastened
before using.
➩ Only then switch on the hand unit, using the on-off
switch (switch to position 1).
➩ Carefully insert the tip of the blade attachment into
the nostril / ear. The rotating precision blades remove
your hair painlessly.
➩ Switch off the appliance after use (switch to position
"0").
6. Trimming beard and sideburns.
➩ Attach the blade attachment for side burns and
beard as described in section 4.
➩ Make sure that the attachment is correctly fastened
before using.
➩ Only then switch on the hand unit, using the on-off
switch (switch to position 1).
➩ Run the blade attachment over the skin without
using excessive force. Hold the attachment vertically to
the skin.
➩ Switch off the appliance after use (switch to position "0").
7. Cleaning and care
➩ Remove the attached blade attachment from the
hand unit and clean it under running water.
Warning: The hand unit is only protected against
splashed water. Never submerge it in water.
➩ Dry the blade attachment completely.
➩ Using the brush, clean off any hairs remaining on
the attachment blades.
➩ Periodically lubricate the blades on the attachments,
using the blade oil supplied.
➩ Do not use cleaning agents or solvents. These can
damage the plastic surfaces.
➩ Keep the appliance in a cool dry place.
➩ Remove the battery if you are not going to use the
appliance for a long period.
8. Disposal
Do not dispose of the device in normal
domestic waste.
Dispose of the device over a registered waste disposal
firm or through your communal waste disposal facility.
Observe the currently valid regulations. In case of doubt,
consult your waste disposal facility.
Batteries may not be disposed of with normal domestic
waste. All consumers are statutorily obliged to dispose of
batteries at the collection point in their community/district
or with the original supplier.
Only dispose of batteries when they are fully discharged.
9. Warranty & Service
The warranty conditions and the service address can
be found on the warranty slip.
Read the operating instructions carefully before using the appliance for the first time and preserve this
booklet for later reference. Hand over the manual to anyone, whom you pass on the appliance to.
