Introduction
Please make sure you familiarise yourself
fully with the way the device works before
you use it for the first time and that you
understand how to handle electrical power tools cor
rectly. Further details can be found in the operating
instructions. Keep these instructions in a safe place.
If you pass the device on to anyone else, please ensure
that you also pass on all the documentation.
Intended Utilisation
This appliance is intended exclusively for the waxing
and buffing / polishing of paint finishes applied to
vehicles, boats and caravans / campervans. Use the
appliance only as described and only for the areas
of application specified.
Any other use of, and modification to, the appliance
is deemed to be improper usage and may result in
serious physical injury. The manufacturer declines
to accept responsibility for damage(s) arising out of
usage contrary to the instructions specified below.
The appliance is not intended for commercial use.

Non-observance of the following instructions

Workplace safety
J Keep your working area clean and tidy. Disorderly
and dark working areas can lead to accidents.
Ensure good illumination of the working area.
Untidy and poorly lit working areas can lead
to accidents.
J Do not work with the appliance in areas subject
to the danger of explosions, in which flammable
liquids, gases or dusts are located. Electrical

tools produce sparks which could ignite the
dust or the vapours.
J Keep children and other third parties
at a distance when using electrical
tools.
If distracted, you could lose the control over
the appliance.
Electrical safety
Avoid mortal danger through
electric shock:
J The plug of the battery charger must fit correctly
into the power socket. The plug may not be
altered in any way. Do not use adapter plugs
together with earthing-protected appliances.
Non-modified plugs and appropriate wall sock
ets reduce the risk of electric shock.
J Avoid physical contact with earthed surfaces,
such as pipes, heating elements, cookers and
refrigerators. There is an increased risk of electric
shock if your body is earthed.

Safety of personnel
J Always be alert and be aware of what you are
doing. Use lots of common sense when working
with electrical appliances. Do not use such
appliances when you are unconcentrated or
tired, or under the influence of drugs, alcohol
or medications. Simply a few moments of inat
tention in the use of an electrical appliance can
lead to serious personal injuries.
J Always wear protective glasses when
working with the appliance.
J Do not overrate yourself. Ensure you have a
secure positioning and are in balance at all times.
You can thus control the appliance so much better,
especially in unexpected situations.
J Wear suitable clothing. Do not wear loose clothing
or jewelery. Keep your hair, clothing and gloves
away from moving components. Wear a hair net
if you have long hair. Loose and hanging clothing,
jewellery and hair can become caught up in fast
rotating appliance components.

J Do not overburden the appliance. Use the elec-
trical hand tool that is appropriate for the work
to be done. You will work better and safer with
the correct tool being used within its predeter
mined area of performance.

J Never use an electrical hand hand tool that has
a defective switch. An electrical tool that can no
longer be switched on or off is dangerous and
must be repaired.
J Store electrical hand tools not in use out of the
reach of children. Do not allow people to operate
the tool who are not familiar with the appliance
or who have not read these instructions. Electrical
tools are dangerous if used by inexperienced
persons.
J Maintain the appliance with care. Check to see
that moving appliance parts are functioning cor
rectly and are not jamming, whether parts are
broken or damaged and that the functioning of
the appliance is not impaired. Arrange for dam
aged components to be repaired before using
the appliance. Many accidents have their origin
in poorly maintained electrical hand tools.
J Use electrical hand tools, accessories or ancillary
components only in accordance with these in
structions and in such a manner as is detailed
for the particular types of appliance. Take heed
of the operating conditions and the activities to
be performed. The use of electrical tools for pur
poses other than their intended applications can
result in dangerous situations.

tions for Battery-Powered Tools
J Ensure that the appliance is switched off before
inserting the battery.
The insertion of a battery into an electrical
appliance that is switched on can lead to
accidents.

Warning! Use exclusively the supplied battery
charger / battery pack. There is a risk of fire if
the battery charger specified for a particular
type of battery is used with other batteries.
J In electrical hand tools, use only the battery
packs designated for them.
The use of other battery packs could lead to
personal injuries and an increased risk of fire.
J The outer surfaces of the battery and / or the
hand tool must be clean and dry before being
connected to the charging device.
Improper utilisation leads to the risk of receiving

an electric shock, overheating or the the escape
of caustic fluids from the battery.

Warning! Should caustic fluid escape from the
battery, avoid all physical contact with it! Should
you nonetheless come into contact with it, wash
it off thoroughly with water. If it gets into your
eyes, flush them out with water and seek imme
diate medical attention.
J Keep the unused battery well away from paper
clips, coins, keys, nails, screws and other small
metallic objects which could potentially cause
a short circuiting of the contacts. A short circuit
between the battery contacts could cause burns
or a fire.

Warning! The battery pack must not be short
circuited. The result could be overheating, the
risk of a fire or the bursting of the battery pack.
Therefore:
- Never connect a cable to the battery poles of
the battery pack.
J Caution! Risk of Explosion! Never throw the
battery pack into fire or water.
Appliance Specific
Safety Instructions
J Alwaya remove the plug from the power socket
before cleaning or servicing the battery charger
or the battery pack.
J Never charge the battery pack if the ambient
temperature is below 10 °C or above 40 °C.
J The ventilation openings on the battery charger
must be kept clear at all times.
J Ensure that the bonnet is well secured to the
buffing plate.
J Do not touch any rotating parts!
Before switching on check to ensure that the
buffing plate is not blocked and can start up
without problem.
J Check to ensure that the bonnet and the buffing
plate are complete and undamaged. Immediately
exchange torn or damaged bonnets / buffing plates.
J First switch the appliance on when the buffing
plate is resting on the area to be buffed.
J Do not use any abrasives; these can destroy
the paint finish.

Service
J Arrange for your appliance to be repaired only
by qualified specialists and only with original
spare parts. It can thus be ensured that the
safety of the appliance is assured.
J Always arrange for the exchange of the plug or
the power cable to be carried out by the manu
facturer of the appliance or by his approved
customer services. It can thus be ensured that
the safety of the appliance is assured.
Original ancillaries / accessories
J Use only the ancillaries and accessories that
are detailed in the operating instructions.
The use of parts other than those recommended
in the operating instructions, or other accessories,
can put you at risk of injury.

instructions, know all about the functions and

Commissioning
Charging the battery pack
Note: A new battery pack, or one that has not been
in use for an extended period, must be charged up
before the first / renewed usage.
The battery pack attains its full capacity after ca. 3-5
charging cycles.
Note: Always unplug the appliance before you
remove / insert the rechargeable battery pack
from / into the charger.

cleaned and completely dry. If necessary, use a
paintwork cleaner. Use products that are appropriate
for the demands on and condition of your paintwork
Heavily oxidised paintwork will require the use of
a special cleaner. For this use a combined product
(cleaner + wax).
The appliance is maintenance-free.
Note: Before cleaning, first remove the battery pack
from the appliance.
m Warning! Ensure that no fluids can permeate
into the appliance, this could lead to the destruction
of the product.
j Use a slightly moist cloth to clean the housing,
if necessary with a mild detergent.
