How to Keep Your Child Safe While Using this Product
CAUTION: Adult assembly required.
• Do not exceed 40 lbs. / 18 kg.
• This product is for use by children ages 18 months and up.
• Never leave child unattended while using this potty seat.
• Assemble anti-skid grippers to bottom of base before using this
potty seat.
• When using the potty seat on adult toilets, adult supervision is
required.
• Do not lift or carry product by Elmo’s face or hand.
• Do not lift product while child is on it.
• Do not use potty seat on cushioned toilet
seats; potty seat may not secure properly or potty seat could damage toilet seat.
• Do not use seat as a step stool.
• Always use potty seat and step stool on a
level surface.
• Do not immerse the base in water.
• Do not remove face unit.

• Replace batteries included with this product before using.
• Do not mix old and new batteries.
• Do not mix different types of batteries: alkaline, standard (carbon-zinc), or
rechargeable (nickel-cadmium).
• Remove batteries during long periods of non-use. Battery leakage and corrosion
can damage this product.
• Never short circuit the battery terminals.
• Only batteries of the same or equivalent type as recommended should be used.
• Rechargeable batteries are to be removed from the product before they are charged.

How to Install Batteries

CAUTION: Adult Assembly Required.
Remove the waste tub from the potty base unit.
Turn base unit upside down and lay on a flat surface.
Remove the lid from the underside of the base unit and locate battery compartment in front of product.
Unscrew the battery door with a Phillips screwdriver.
DISPOSE OF THE 3 DEMONSTRATION BATTERIES INCLUDED IN PRODUCT BEFORE USE.
Insert 3 new “AA” batteries as shown. Replace battery door and tighten the screw.
NOTE: The battery door is designed so that it only fits in the correct orientation.
CAUTION: Do not mix old and new batteries. Do not mix alkaline, standard (carbon-zinc), or rechargeable (nickel-cadmium) batteries. Remove batteries before storing the product for a prolonged period of time.

How To Turn Unit ON/OFF and Select Language
The potty seat randomly plays 10 phrases in English and Spanish. It can be set to High Volume, Low Volume or turned Off. The switches are located above the battery compartment.
The potty is shipped in “High” volume (+) and in “Demonstration” mode (C).
Turn the off / volume switch to “+” for high volume, “-” for low volume, and “O” for Off.
Turn the language switch to “A” for Spanish mode or “B” for English mode. The “C” is for demonstration mode.
Press Elmo’s hand to test the sound. Elmo will randomly say 10 fun phrases in the language selected.

How To Assemble Potty Seat
CAUTION: Adult Assembly Required.
The face is the front of the unit.
Attach the anti-skid grippers to the bottom of the unit as shown.
When using as a potty seat, store the lid under the base by pushing the lid into the base unit. Make sure the front of the lid is placed next to the Elmo face.
When the base is lifted, the lid should not fall from the bottom of the unit.
Place waste tub into the base unit. It will only fit into the base with the handle facing the back of base unit.

Insert the seat into the base by sliding the four tabs into the slots.
Insert the deflector shield by sliding the deflector into the slots on the seat as shown. Use the deflector shield as needed; recommended for boys.

How to Use on an Adult Toilet
1
When your child is ready to use an adult toilet, the seat will transfer to most adult toilets. For your child’s safety, do not use potty seat on padded or cushioned toilet seats.
Remove the potty seat by lifting upward.
Place the seat on the adult toilet ensuring that the tabs fit inside the rim of the toilet. Make sure the seat is level on the toilet and fits snugly within toilet seat opening without tipping, before child uses. Insert deflector shield as needed.

Remove the potty seat and deflector shield and store for future use.
The waste tub may be left inside the base unit while using the step stool feature.
Pull lid from under base unit, to remove from unit. Tilt lid as needed, to remove.
Line up the front of the lid to the front of the base unit and insert tabs into the slots as shown. The lid's tabs will only fit into the base in one direction. Do not force the tabs.
IMPORTANT: Turn the electronics off ( O ) when using the step stool feature.

How to Clean the Unit
Remove the potty seat by lifting upward and clean with soap and water as needed.
Remove the waste tub by lifting upward on the rear handle and empty. Clean with soap and water.
DO NOT immerse the base unit into water for your safety and to avoid damaging the electronic unit. Wipe the main base unit with a cloth instead.

Have fun rewarding your child for his or her progress with the mini-book and 20 colorful Sesame Street stickers.
Write child’s name in the book and keep nearby to encourage and reward the child for potty training achievements.
Allow the child to place the stickers onto the stars in the book as he or she becomes a potty training all-star. Additional books and stickers are available through Consumer Services. See page 31 for details.
