This guide provides information about installing and upgrading KEC-ERP, operating requirements and pre-installation information.

User Interface Notes

The user interface and access paths in this guide may differ from those in your environment. The terms Export Connector and Release Script appear interchangeably. What appears depends on the version of Kofax Capture that you have installed. However, the installation and configuration steps are identical.
Note The graphics used in this document may differ from what appears on your system.

Kofax regularly updates the Kofax Support site with the latest information about Kofax products.
To access some resources, you must have a valid Support Agreement with an authorized Kofax Reseller/Partner or with Kofax directly.

System Requirements

Kofax Export Connector for ERP (KEC-ERP) requires:
▪ Kofax Capture 9.x or later

Note Ascent Capture 7.x and Kofax Capture 8.x or earlier are NOT supported.
▪ SAP ERP (ECC6.0, R/3 4.6, R/3 4.7 or later) Unicode or 64-bit
▪ All ArchiveLink 4.5-certified content servers.
▪ Document Management System: an ArchiveLink 4.5-certified content server.
▪ Internet Explorer 7.0 or later
▪ .NET Framework version 2.0.50727 or later. See the Microsoft download site for details.
▪ A KEC-ERP license. For information about obtaining a dongle or license key, contact your
Kofax project manager.
▪ A properly configured IDES.
▪ Administrative privileges on the local computer where KEC-ERP is being installed.

SAP User Types

KEC-ERP connects to SAP with an authorized SAP user.

Upgrading

If you have an earlier version of KEC-ERP or Ascent, follow the instructions in Uninstalling to uninstall the earlier version before you install.

Planning Your Installation

Plan your installation to ensure that your deployment proceeds efficiently and your sites meet the needs of your company.

Verifying DNS Names

Make sure that the system recognizes the DNS names for the SAP system and Content Server by pinging the servers to verify that the DNS names can be resolved. If pinging does not verify the names, add the names to your local hosts file.

Registering Fax File Extension

To release images in TIFF format, register the Fax file extension:
On the SAP system, rename any TIFF file with a fax extension. For example, rename

test.tiff to test.fax.

Right-click the file name and select Open With > Choose Default Program.

Select the default program to open Fax files.

Preparing the SAP Environment

Before you install KEC-ERP, prepare the SAP server.

Creating or Editing a Content Repository Protocol

Log in to SAP as Administrator.

Enter transaction code OAA3.

Either create a protocol from an existing protocol or edit a protocol:

▪ To create a protocol, select the protocol SAPHTTP and click the Copy icon.
▪ To edit a protocol, select the protocol and click the Open icon.
Enter the protocol name, for example, SAPHTTPD.

Enter version 0046.

Enter a description.

Note If access is denied for the CS Admin, temporarily change the security settings. From Computer Management > Internet Information Server > SAP Content Server, open the Content Server.ini file and change the administration security to 0.

Create the archive.
On the Details tab, in the Content Rep field, enter the name of the content repository used

by the SAP System.
On the Settings tab, verify that the value in the ContentStorageName field matches the

database name you created when you installed the Content Server.
On the Certificates tab, import and activate the certificate.

Accepting the Certificate

Before you configure KEC-ERP, establish a secured communication between KEC-ERP and the SAP content repository . The following procedure describes how to accept the certificate in Internet Explorer.
Browse to the site whose certificate you want to trust. For example, https://<host>:port.

If the system displays an error that there is a problem with the website security

certificate, click Continue to this website (not recommended).
Select Tools > Internet Options.

Select the Security tab.

Click the Trusted Sites icon.

Click Sites.

Confirm the URL and click Add.

If Internet Explorer displays a website security certificate error, go to Correcting Website
Security Issues.
If Internet Explorer displays a website security certificate error, click Continue to this website (not recommended).
Click Certificate Error and select View Certificates.
Click Install Certificate Error. Internet Explorer displays a wizard.
Click Next to continue.
Select Place all certificates in the following store.
Click Browse.
Select Trusted Root Ceritification Authorities and click OK.
Click Next and Finish.

If the system displays a security warning, click Yes and OK to dismiss the message.

Select Tools > Internet Options.

▪ SAP No signatures field: Disabled
▪ KEC-ERP Signature field: Enabled
▪ SAP creates a lengthy URL that includes an expiration date and a digital signature. The
URL is only valid if the date has not expired and the URL contains a valid signature.
No Signatures
▪ SAP No signatures field: Enabled
▪ KEC-ERP Signature field: Disabled
▪ There document URL does not include either an expiration date or a signature.
The signature is not related to HTTPS.

This chapter provides instructions for installing Kofax Export Connector for ERP (KEC-ERP). Installation takes approximately 10 minutes.
Before you start, verify that you have a working SAP connection.
Note The graphics used in this document may differ from what appears on your system.

Running the Setup Wizard

Launch KofaxExportConnector-x.x.x_for_ERP.msi where x.x.x is the current release

number. Contact your Kofax representative if you do not have a copy of this file.
Chapter 3
ERP
Note The system checks the version of .NET. If the supported version of .NET is not
installed, an error message appears. Click Yes to get the required version.
The Welcome window opens.
Click Next.

The system prompts you to confirm the installation.
Click Next to continue.

The system displays a progress bar.
If your SAP release is SAP Netweaver 7.0 or higher, enter the SLD username, password,

host and port number and click Register.
When the system displays the Installation Complete window, click Close.

Registering KEC-ERP

Open the Kofax Capture Administration Module and login as Administrator.

Access theRelease Script Manager window:

▪ For Kofax Capture 8.x and 9.x, select Tools > Release Script Manager.
▪ For Kofax Capture 10.x, select Tools > Export Connectors.

Click Add and navigate to Kofax Export Connector - ERP.

The Add Release Scripts window opens.
Select Kofax Export Connector - ERP and click Install.

The system displays a Registration Complete message.
Click OK to continue and close the open windows.

KEC-ERP is now ready to use.

Checking the Export Connector and Transport Versions

From the Kofax Capture Administration Module, navigate to the Batch tab.

Expand the <batch class>.

Right-click the <document class> and select Release Scripts or Export Connectors.

The configuration window opens.
In the Assigned column, select Kofax Export Connector-ERP and click Setup.

The Kofax Export Connector - ERP window opens.
Select the Version tab.

The version information window opens.
Installing Kofax Export Connector for ERP
 The Release Script Version or Export Connector version number is the library version
number. The Packages installed in your SAP system are the transports imported into the SAP system. This information may vary depending on your system.
Note The version numbers for transport packages are hardcoded into the export connector and may differ from the transports available from Kofax.
Review the package numbers. They should match the transport numbers installed on the

SAP server.

Updating Ascent Release for ERP Batches

KEC-ERP can use any batch class that is configured for Ascent Release for ERP without reentering the batch class.
Verify that the Kofax Batch Manager has no pending batches. Process or delete any

pending batches.
In the Kofax Capture Administration Module, add KEC-ERP as an available export
2
connector.
To upgrade from 2.4, to 2.4.x, re-register the update version. The system saves the
3
previous settings for your batch classes.
Reconfigure all batch classes with the new export connector version.

Publish and test the new batch classes.
5
From the Release Script Manager, remove the old export connector version.

Chapter 4
Importing the KEC-ERP SAP Transport
Files
Use the procedures that your company currently has in place to import KEC-ERP transport files into your SAP system. See the KEC-ERP ReadMe_Transports.txt file for more information.
Caution Load the transports in the sequence defined in the read me files. Loading the transports in the wrong order can cause import errors.
Use the following procedure as a guideline.
Extract the SAP transport files into the transport directory of the SAP server, for example,

<SAP drive>:\usr\sap\trans\. Each transport includes a pair of files:,
▪ K<number>: extract these files into the cofiles subdirectory. For example, <SAP
drive>:\usr\sap\trans\cofiles\
▪ R<number>: extract these files into the data subdirectory. For example, <SAP drive>:
\usr\sap\trans\data\
Log in to SAP as a user authorized to import SAP transports. Navigate to the Transport
2
Management System (transaction code STMS).
Click the Import Overview icon (F5) in the top left corner of the window. The Import
3
Overview window opens, displaying the import queues for your system.
Double-click the import queue row to use for the transfer. The system opens the Import
4
Queue window. Select the import queue that matches your system.
Select Extras > Other Requests > Add.

TheAdd Transport Request on the Import Queue window opens.
In the Trans request field, enter the first transport request and click Continue (green
6
arrow) or press Enter.
If the system prompts you to confirm the addition, click Yes.

Select the request (transport number) and click Import Request (Ctrl-F11).

Specify the Target Client, for example, 800.

On the Date tab Start Date field, select Immediate.

On the Execution tab Import field, select Asynchronous.

On the Options tab Import Options field, select:

To verify that the transport was imported without error:

Refresh the import queue to check the status of the import. When the status changes

Verify that the log contains no errors.

To view the object list, double-click the queue entry.

Repeat this procedure until you load all of the transport files.

Before you uninstall KEC-ERP, ensure that no batches use the export connector. Check each document class in each batch individually.

Removing References to KEC-ERP

Verify that you have a working SAP connection.

From the Kofax Capture Administration Module, navigate to the Batch tab and expand

the <batch class>.
Right-click the <document class> and select Release Scripts or Export Connectors.

The configuration window opens.
If Kofax Export Connector - ERP appears in the Assigned Scripts column, select the

Kofax Export Connector-ERP and click Remove. The system moves the Kofax Export Connector - ERP to the Available column.

Repeat these steps for each document class that used KEC-ERP.

Removing Registration

If no batch classes use KEC-ERP, remove KEC-ERP from the list of available export connectors.
Access theRelease Script Manager window:

▪ For Kofax Capture 10.x, select Tools > Export Connectors.
Right-click the Kofax Export Connector - ERP script and select Remove.

Close the window.
