Before use or storage, plug your KODAK PPS600 into the wall until it is fully charged. If the display shows less than 20% capacity, plug it into a power source, like an AC outlet or a solar panel as soon as possible. To preserve battery lifespan, please use and recharge at least every 3 month.
You will know that the KODAK PPS600 is charging when you see the red LED indicator lashing once per second. It is fully charged when all battery segments stop blinking and remain solid. The KODAK PPS600 will be fully recharged after 67 hours. Always use the supplied AC charger.
ATTENTION
Only charge the unit when the ambient temperature is between 0 and +40 °C (32 - 104 °F).
End the charging process by switching o the unit and pulling the plug out of the socket.
6.1. PV (SOLAR PANEL) CHARGING
KODAK PPS600 8mm input port is compatible with both KODAK Solar Panels SP50 and SP100 with an input voltage of 18V. Place your solar panel where it will get as much direct sunlight as possible. Solar charge times depend on weather conditions. It is fully charged when all battery segments stop blinking and remain solid.
NOTE
Don‘t place the solar panels in shaded areas or behind windows.
Although you should seek out the shade on sunny days, your solar panels will collect more energy
when fully exposed to the sunlight. Windows are decreasing the eiciency.
6.2. DISPLAY
The LCD Display indicates the charge level of your KODAK PPS600. The battery icon on the display is divided into ive segments, approximating 20%-40%-60%-80% -100% capacity. As you use the unit, the number of lit segments will reduce, indicating the remaining charge. Once your KODAK PPS600 is fully charged, all battery segments will be lit and remain solid.
The INPUT section in the upper part of the display indicates the power to the KODAK PPS600 from your charging source (mains supply or solar panel). When charging from a solar panel, this charging power will change as you change the orientation of the solar panel relative to the sun.
The OUTPUT section in the lower section of the display indicates the amount of power your devices are drawing from KODAK PPS600. This information is displayed in Watts (W).
Please note that the charging time may vary depending on the ambient temperature involving the solar charger.

USING
1. Press the power button located next to each port you will be using.
2. You’ll know the port is turned on when the red light next to the port(s) is illuminated. Note: When a port/ports is/are not in use, turn it/them o to save power.
3. Plug in your device for mobile power.
Intelligent cooling
The KODAK PPS600 intelligent controll system will adjust the PV input or AC output power based on the outer case temperature of the outer case in order to ensure that the outer case can be handled safely.
ATTENTION
DO NOT use KODAK PPS600 when any fan is broken.
Appropriate temperature usage
• Charge protection: KODAK PPS600 can charge your device when the ambient temperature is bet- ween 0 - 40°C. Outside this temperature range, the system automatically stops charging but will restart once the temperature is back inside the acceptable range.
• Low ambient temperatures can aect both the battery capacity and power output of the KODAK PPS600.
Best-use strategy
• If you plug in devices that have a high power requirement, the charge level of KODAK PPS600 can drop quickly and you will not be able to extract the entire 578Wh of energy.
• On the other hand, if you’re charging devices that draw power more slowly (e.g., a tablet), you will be able to extract close to the full 578Wh from KODAK PPS600.
ATTENTION
Make sure that the electronic device you are powering works properly prior to use.
The max. AC power consumption for electronic devices is 300W.
Due to the dierent types of electric devices, it is possible that they may not operate
even if their power consumption is less than 300W.
Compared to an AC power source in a house,
it is also possible that the electronic device may receive a lower maximum input power.
If the unit is connected to a radio, video player, TV screen, etc., there may be some electromagnetic
interference. Stop using the device immediately if the current low is interrupted repeatedly.
13
Page 14
9. TROUBLESHOOTING
Devices are not recharging.
If your devices are not recharging as they should using KODAK PPS600 follow these steps:
1. Ensure the output port has been turned on. The red LED next to the power button should be lit up.
2. Check the Battery Display. If it is at 20% or below, recharge your KODAK PPS600.
3. Verify your device is suitable for use with the KODAK PPS600. All of the KODAK PPS600 output ports have their own max. power. Check the KODAK PPS600’s technical speciications to ensure your device is compatible.
What should I do if the unit gets wet?
Immediately turn o the unit and wait until you are certain that it is completely dry before turning it back on. If you are unsure about when it is safe to turn it back on, please contact after sales service.
Recharging via solar panels takes longer than it is supposed to.
Charging via solar panels is subject to various inluences. We have listed a few here for you.
1. Not all solar charge times are created equal. Most solar panel manufacturers calculate recharge times using the following equation: Devices Watt Hours / Solar Panel Watts = Solar Recharge Times.
So theoretically, a 13W solar panel would charge a 50 Wh battery pack in 3.84 hours (50/13 = 3.84) – and this is the number you could ind in marketing material for a solar panel. However, in order to standardize results across all manufacturers, these tests are completed in laboratory settings. The truth is, on a good, sunny day, you’ll received about 5075% of your solar panel’s rated wattage.
2. Perfect placement is key. Although you should seek out the shade on sunny days, your solar panels will collect more energy when fully exposed to the sunlight. Windows also have a habit of decreasing eiciency. So keep those panels outside and in the bright sunlight and align them properly.

10. FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQ)
1. What type of battery is in my KODAK PPS600?
KODAK PPS600 contains a 578Wh lithium ion battery pack. Lithium ion batteries are much smaller and lighter than normal lead-acid batteries and also can be cycled many more times.
2. How do I know if my KODAK PPS600 is charged?
To check the charge level of your KODAK PPS600, refer to the LCD display. The battery icon indicates the battery status of total charge remaining. KODAK PPS600 can be used until it is empty but we recommend to recharge when the level is below 20%.
3. Can I charge the KODAK PPS600 while supplying power at the same time?
Yes. The AC output supports simultaneous charging and discharging. Please note, however, that this only makes sense with a remaining battery capacity of more than 10%.
4. Can I take the KODAK PPS600 on a plane?
No, you can’t. KODAK PPS600 contains a large number of lithium-ion batteries with a capacity considered to be hazardous by airlines.
5. What does a pure-sine wave inverter mean?
You have probably heard the terms DC and AC power. DC stands for Direct Current, and is the only type of power that can be stored in a battery. AC stands for Alternating Current, which is the type of power your devices use when they’re plugged into the wall. An inverter turns a DC output into AC output and it can do this with quite high eiciency. You can see this by turning on the AC port and looking at the output on the LCD display.
A pure-sine wave inverter, like the one found in your KODAK PPS600, produces an output signal that is exactly the same as that supplied by an AC wall plug in your house. Although integrating a pure-sine wave inverter takes more components, it is then compatible with almost all AC electric devices you use in your house. So in the end, the pure-sine wave inverter allows KODAK PPS600 to safely power almost everything under 300W device that you would normally plug into the wall.
6. How do I know if my device will work with the KODAK PPS600?
Firstly, you’ll need to check the amount of power your device requires. This may require some research on your end. An online search or examining the user guide for your device should suice. To be compatible with the KODAK PPS600, you should use devices that require less than 300 W.
Secondly, you will need to check the capacity for the individual output ports. For example, the AC port is monitored by an inverter that allows for 300W of continuous power. This means if your device is drawing more than 300W for an extended period of time, KODAK PPS600’s inverter will shut o.
NOTE
In case of overload, the unit switches o automatically and the output is interrupted.
Plasma or LED TVs with screens greater than 41“, desktop computers, and other devices with high
power consumption, as well as household devices with luctuating power consumption or with power
factor correction may not operate normally or at all, even if the their speciied operating power
is below 300W.
15
Page 16

Do not connect a continuous load of more than 300 W.
The unit‘s output stops automatically in case of overloading, since it reduces the running time of the battery.
Do not continue to charge the battery after it has charged completely.
Pay attention to the indicated capacity. Do not charge the battery once it has been fully charged or the charging process has been concluded. Otherwise the service life of the lithium battery may be reduced.
Switch o the unit if it is not being used.
Unnecessary power consumption also reduces the running time of the lithium battery.
Fully charge the battery prior to placing it in storage.
Fully charge the power supply unit prior to lengthy periods of non-use for storage and recharge the unit at least once a year. After prolonged storage, it may be necessary to charge and discharge the battery several times in order to reach full capacity.
