Important Safety Instructions
Read all instructions before using the projector. Follow the safety instructions below when using the over­head projector.
• Do not allow children to operate this unit.
• Do not touch hot parts near the lamp housing.
• Do not operate a damaged unit or disassemble the unit by yourself.
• Use a qualified service technician when repair is required. Incorrect assembly can cause electric shock.
• Keep the power cord away from hot surfaces. If the power cord is dam­aged have it repaired before using.
• If it is necessary to use an extension power strip, use one which is fuse and safety certified.
• Disconnect the power plug when not in use. Pull on the plug, not the cord, when disconnecting from the power source.
• Make sure the unit is completely cooled before storage.
• Place the projector on a flat and stable surface.
• To prevent electric shock, do not operate the unit if it is wet or on a wet surface.
• Disconnect the power cord from the power source before removing the lamp.
• Do not touch the projection lens while the lamp is on.
• Do not obstruct the ventilation area.
• Always open the projection head before operating the unit. Trapped heat can cause mirror damage.
• Do not look directly at projected light to prevent eye damage.
• Do not use the unit for purposes other than projection of transparencies or LCD panels.
• Use only the lamp as indicated on the label inside your projector. Use of improper lamp can result in damage or poor performance.

Set Up
ARM RETAINER CLIP
1. Press the ARM RETAINER CLIP to release the arm.
2. Rotate the FOCUS KNOB to move the head slightly away from the housing.
3. Lift the arm into the full, upright and locked position and open the PROJECTION LENS head.

Using the Projector
1. If using an LCD panel, install it and turn it on first.
2. Plug overhead projector in and turn the POWER SWITCH to the “ON” position.
3. Place a flat transparency on STAGE GLASS as shown and center it.

4. Adjust the PROJECTION LENS head angle to center the image on the screen.
5. Turn the FOCUS KNOB until the projected image is sharp. Should an orange or blue fringe appear around the outer edge of the projected image, turn the COLOR FRINGE KNOB to clear it.
6. When the lamp is burned out, use the LAMP CHANGE HANDLE to switch to new lamp.
The power is cutoff automatically during lamp change; switch power on again after using lamp switch.
NOTE: Remember to replace the old lamp with a new one before next use. Do not remove lamp until it is completely cooled.

Using lamps of higher wattage than indicated on the label can cause damage.

1. Turn POWER SWITCH “OFF.”
2. Unplug power cord. Wait for lamp to cool before removal.
3. Open and remove the TOP COVER.
4. Open the LAMP HOUSING COVER.

Lamp Replacement
5. Remove the used lamp from its socket.
6. Open the plastic sleeve. Keep the plastic sleeve on the lamp for hand holding, and expose the lamp wires for socket connection.
IMPORTANT: Do not touch the new lamp directly. Finger oil and dirt can shorten lamp life and performance.
7. Then install the new lamp lead wires into the socket. Close the LAMP HOUSING COVER.
8. Replace the TOP COVER. Make sure it is locked in place.

Fuse Replacement
1. Move the POWER SWITCH to the “OFF” position.
2. Disconnect the power cord and wait until the unit is completely cool.
3. Locate the fuse (see diagram). Use a screwdriver to remove the fuse cover, then remove the used fuse.
4. Install a new fuse with the correct rating. Replace the fuse cover.

Lens and Glass Cleaning and Maintenance
1. Clean the PROJECTION MIRROR, PROJECTION LENS, Fresnel lens (inside), and STAGE GLASS with a clean, lint-free cloth.
Note: Fresnel lens is on inside of TOP COVER. Turn clips to remove. When replac­ing, make sure the “UP” label faces the STAGE GLASS side.

Troubleshooting
Use this chart to solve common problems. If you fail to find the solution, contact your local dealer for assistance and service.
CONDITION CAUSE CORRECTION
The power switch is “ON” but the machine does not operate.
The power switch is “ON”, the fan is rotat­ing, but the lamp does not come on.
The power switch is “ON” the lamp is on, but there is no pro­jected image.
The image is blurred.
The light is not bright enough.
Power is suddenly lost during use.
• Is the power cord disconnected?
• Is the fuse blown?
• Is the TOP COVER completely closed?
• Is the lamp installed securely?
• Is the lamp burned out?
• Is the LAMP CHANGE HANDLE in the right position?
• Is the PROJECTION MIRROR open, and properly tilted up?
• Is the distance between the screen and projection too far or too close?
• Is the “UP” label on the Fresnel lens facing the stage glass?
• Is the projected image out of focus?
• Is the transparency flat?
• Has the lamp been in use for a long time?
• Is the fuse blown?
• Connection has been lost with main power?
• Connect the power cord on power source.
• Replace the blown fuse.
• Close the TOP COVER completely.
• Set the lamp securely.
• Replace the lamp.
• Move the LAMP CHANGER HANDLE firmly to the right (or left) position then turn the power switch “ON” again to reset the power.
• Raise the PROJECTION MIRROR on the head and tilt it to project image for­ward.
• Position the projector
1.3 - 4 meters from the screen.
• Reinstall the Fresnel lens with the “UP” label facing the stage glass making sure to secure it with the clip holders.
• Adjust the focus knob on arm to have a good focus.
• Ensure that the trans­parency is flat.
• Replace the lamp. Or use LAMP CHANGE HANDLE to switch to a new lamp.
• Replace the fuse.
• Check the main power cable for right connection.

Warranty

Kodak warrants this KODAK EKTALITE Overhead Projector to function properly for one year from the date of purchase.
If this KODAK EKTALITE Overhead Projector does not function properly within the warranty period, upon submission of dated proof of purchase, Kodak will repair it without charge, except for worn-out projector lamps. If the unit cannot be repaired, the option of replacement or refund of the purchase price will be available.
Limitations
This warranty does not cover circumstances beyond Kodak’s control, pro­jector lamps, or problems caused by failure to follow the care and operat­ing instructions in the manual.
Any modification to the original design of this projector nullifies this war­ranty.
Warranty service will not be provided without dated proof of purchase.
Kodak makes no other express warranty for this product.
Repair or replacement is Kodak’s only obligation. Kodak will not be responsible for any consequential or incidental damages resulting from the sale or use of this projector, regardless of the cause of such dam­ages.

Wichtige Sicherheitshinweise
Bevor Sie den Projektor in Betrieb nehmen, lesen Sie bitte die Bedienungsanleitung genau durch, und befolgen Sie die nachfolgenden Sicherheitshinweise.
• Lassen Sie das Gerät nicht von Kindern bedienen.
• Vorsicht Verbrennungsgefahr! Berühren Sie nicht die heißen Teile des Lampengehäuses! Fassen Sie das Objektiv nicht an solange die Lampe brennt!
• Benutzen Sie niemals ein beschädigtes Gerät, und nehmen Sie es auch nicht selbst auseinander.
• Lassen Sie Reparaturen nur von einem qualifizierten Servicetechniker durchführen. Durch eine falsche Montage besteht die Gefahr eines Stromschlags.
• Das Stromkabel darf nicht mit heißen Oberflächen in Berührung kom­men. Wenn das Kabel beschädigt ist, muß es repariert werden, ehe es wieder benutzt wird.
• Lassen Sie den Projektor erst abkühlen, bevor Sie ihn wegstellen!
• Um einen Stromschlag zu verhindern, soll das Gerät nicht in feuchtem Zustand oder auf einer feuchten Unterlage benutzt werden.
• Ziehen Sie den Netzstecker bevor Sie eine Lampe wechseln!
• Blockieren Sie nicht das Kühlgebläse.
• Öffnen Sie zuerst den Projektionskopf bevor Sie den Projektor einschalten! Ein Wärmestau kann den Spiegel beschädigen.
• Vermeiden Sie es, direkt in das projizierte Licht zu blicken!
• Verwenden Sie nur die vom Hersteller empfohlenen Lampen (siehe Schild an der Innenseite des Projektors). Eine falsche Lampe kann zu Beschädigungen oder einer geringeren Leistung führen.
