Introduction
Thank you for purchasing the Palladium 5.1 Surround System. This speaker system consists of one subwoofer and five satellite speakers and was especially designed for the reproduction of 5.1 Dolby-Digital Surround Sound.
The Universal Dolby Digital Audio Decoder is an ambivalent audio entertainment system, using Dolby Digital™, to give you a sound experience in cinema quality.
The Universal Dolby Digital Audio Decoder enables you to turn any audio system, like a television set, a video recorder, a CD-Rom drive, DVD player, Laser disk player, stereo receiver, boom box, PC and video consoles (Nintendo“, Sony PlayStation“, SEGA“) into an advanced multimedia centre. The LCD display gives you full control of all functions. The Universal Dolby Digital Audio Decoder lets you enjoy the cinema atmosphere at home with real Dolby sound. This means: AC-3 sound effects from the separated sound tracks of the Audio Storm Version 5.1 – right in your living room!

Installation
Connect the system according to the figure above to your sound source.
Connection of the speakers
Connect the speakers according to the figure above to the subwoofer.
Connection of the decoder

Button description
POWER On/off switch. Pressing the button will activate or deactivate the Dolby Digital
System after one second. During this time the unit starts an auto test and resets the default configuration. MODE This button activates the decoder’s setting mode. Press the button several times until the part of the LCD display, you want to configure begins to flash. The Enter button allows you to confirm your settings and exit the setting mode
ENTER This button enables you to confirm your settings and to exit the setting mode TEST/Up Serves as up-button in test mode and to activate the speaker’s test program MUTE/DOWN: Down button in setting mode to muffle the speakers

Description of LCD display
As shown in the figure, the LCD indicates all functions and possibilities. Some functions are only visible under certain circumstances.
Input: Indicates if the sound signal is analog or digital. When the signal is digital, the „Digital mode“ sign lights up and shows if the signal is Surround (AC-3) or Stereo (PCM)..
Surround mode
Gives information about the used surround signal. When the function Pro Logic Auto On is activateed, AC-3 or Pro Logic will be automatically detected.
Mute
Flashes up when „Mute“ is selected. During execution of test function „Test“ will flash up.
Speaker mode
Indicates the chosen speaker mode.
Volume
Indicates the chosen volume.
Balance
Indicates the settings for balance.
Delay
Indicates the eventually chosen value for time delay of the surround speakers.

The remote control:

Operating the device (Decoder): Default System Configuration:
The default configuration will be reset automatically whenever you remove the power-plug (not by simply switching off the unit). Note that the AC-3 and PCM functions of the DIGITAL MODE depend on the quality of the audio output.
Audio Input Setting:
With Input (on remote control) you adjust if the input signal is analog or digital. DIGITAL­MODE will be detected automatically for digital audio sources. When using an analog signal, please choose „Analog“

You can make this setting on the decoder by using the „Mode“ button. Press „Mode“ until the Input window flashes up, than use the Up and Down buttons to choose between digital and analog. In case you have chosen AC-3 the display shows „Pro Logic Auto On”. This means, the decoder detects automatically a coming Pro Logic Signal and changes to Pro Logic Mode. By pressing the „Pro Logic Auto On“ button on the remote control you can deactivate this function, but we recommend you to leave this function activated
Speaker configuration:
The Palladium system supports 4 kinds of speaker configurations and 2 kinds of bass management for the Dolby Digital System. The following figures serve as examples

We suggest the following steps to setup Universal Dolby Digital Decoder speaker mode: Step1:Conform your speaker numbers and position by TEST function Step2:Confirm your audio device output is digital (AC-3 or PCM)
and then setup INPUT mode correctly. Step3:Playing your audio device. Step4:Listen and feel, try to change bass configuration 1 or bass
Configuration 2 by pressing the Bass button on your remote
controller (In Speaker Mode).

Setup delay
With delay the time difference between arriving signals will be compensed. The time difference can occur if the speakers are positioned in different distances to each other..
Setting of Delay on decoder and remote control
Press mode button until Delay, SL (Surround Left) and SR (Surround Right) flashes up. By using the Up and Down buttons you can set the desired value. You can make the same settings for the center speaker by repeating this procedure (Delay and C (Center speaker) have to flash up.
Troubleshooting
Note: These tests assume the amplifier is working correctly.
No sound
Doublecheck the connection. Choose the right audio source (digital/analog) Increase volume
Low sound
Turn bass to correct level Doublecheck the speakers.
Buzzing sound
Check the speakers for rustling
Too much treble and bass
Doublecheck the balance positon, maybe one speaker isn’t connected correctly.

Please note:
Do not store the unit in direct sunlight or extreme temperatures as this may dmage the components. Do not open the unit. Maintenance and service should be done by qualified personnel only Be careful not to spill any liquids on the unit, as this may damage the components. Do not expose any pressure on the grids of the speakers as this may damage them. Clean the unit with a dry cloth only

Warranty information
This product is warranted for the period of two years parts and labor from the original date of purchase against defective materialsand workmanship. In the event that warranty service is required, you should return the product to the retailer from whom it was purchases, or contact the on-site service company.
This warranty covers none of the following: Periodic check ups, maintenance and repair or replacement of parts due to normal wear and tear. Cost relating to transport, removal or installation of the product. Misuse, including the failure to use this product for its normal purposes of incorrect installation. Damage caused by lightning, water, fire, public disturbances ,incorrect main voltage, improper ventilation or any other cause beyond the manufacturer’s control.
