Klein's STP100 Utility Stapler is designed to hold and dispense utility staples to install ground wire to utility poles. The stapler can accommodate 35-40 staples to finish installation on one pole. It automatically loads the next staple for smoother operation, and works with Klein STP001 Heavy-Duty Collated Staples, as well as other utility staples on the market.
Driving staples to full depth with the staple holder will result in damage to the tool.
Do not use more than 20 loose/non-collated staples; doing so can cause jams and damage to the tool.

Read, understand, and follow these instructions to ensure safe operation. Failure to observe these warnings can result in risk of fire or electric shock. Keep these instructions for future reference.
Never use on or near live electric circuits.
Always wear approved eye protection.
Keep fingers clear of staple discharge area when operating or clearing a jam.
Only direct staple discharge towards surface intended to be stapled; never point towards any body part.
Ensure correct staple size is selected before discharging.
Use proper positioning of the cable guide to prevent staples from piercing the cable
Always be cautious of potential hazards such as electrical wiring, damp or wet conditions, unstable surfaces.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
DRIVING STAPLES:
1. Lift Anvil Release 5 to ensure Anvil 4 is fully extended .
(FIG. B)
2. Strike Anvil
4 with hammer (FIG. C)
.
3. Use Staple Holder only to start staple (1 or 2 hits).
Remove staple holder and finish staple with hammer.
NOTE: Driving staples to full depth with the staple holder will result in damage to the tool.
4. Lift Anvil Release 5 to release the Anvil 4 back to fully-
extended position (FIG. D).

LOADING STAPLES:
FIG. F
1. Lift Staple Cover Release 2 (FIG. E) and slide Staple Cover

open (FIG. F).
2. Place staples into Staple Holder
(FIG. G)

3. Close Staple Cover 1 (FIG. H).
CLEARING JAMS:
1. Lift Staple Cover Release 2 and slide Staple Cover 1 open, then insert screwdriver under Jam Release Lever and
pull open Jam Release Lever

2. Swing Front Cover 3 open (FIG. J).
3. Clear jam and close all covers (FIG. K).
MAINTENANCE
To maintain smooth operation and prevent rust, keep the anvil
4 lubricated. Before each use, apply a thin oil to the exposed portion of the anvil when in the fully-extended position. Wipe away excess oil before using.
