Power Supply Failure May Occur Using 220/240Vac Line Voltage

Situation:
The original powe r su ppl y (0 950- 2665) may fail when t he Tes t Set is oper a te d a t hi gh line
voltage, 220/ 240 Vac. This servi c e no te doe s not co ve r fa il ur es occuring at low line vo ltages
(100/110/12 0 Vac) . This failure is cause d by ove r st ressed components in the power supply.
The original po we r supply can be identified by the lack of a part number stamped on t he
sheet metal housing. Removal of the external cover and internal bottom cover are required to
access the housing from the bottom of the Test Set. The replacement power supply has the
part number, 0950- 4059, stamped on the housing. Recal ibra ti on is not required afte r
replacement of the power supply .
Solution / Action:
Replace the defe ct ive power supply with replacement part 0950-4059. Record the part
number of the power su ppl y be ing replaced on the CSO. If no part number is found on the
power supply, ente r 0950-2665 on the CSO.
