Add capability, not complexity
The central theme in all our power products is one-box integration, which improves test results while cutting costs, complexity and rack size. These solutions are much easier to integrate, program and maintain in ATE systems. Because we specify and guarantee performance for the entire integrated system, you know exactly what to expect from your equipment (unlike systems assembled from individual pieces). And thanks to our industry-leading average MTBF of more than 100,000 hours, you can count on that power year after year.
People as dependable as the power
The experienced engineers at HP DIRECT understand that you have more important things to do than shop around for power supplies. We’ll help you select the right solutions for your application and your budget, then arrange fast shipping so you can get back to work in a hurry.
In a world where complexity reigns supreme, HP’s one-box power solutions might come as a pleasant surprise. We know you don’t want to spend your days (and nights) worrying about test system power. That’s our job. From basic dc supplies to compliance-test systems, we’ve reduced the number of components you need to integrate and simplified the process of delivering, controlling and measuring power.
From power supplies to power solutions
The mobile communications dc sources you’ll see on pages 2–3 are a great example of how HP power products deliver more while demanding less. To help you characterize the narrow current pulses characteristic of digital phones and other new wireless devices, these sources offer the peak measurement capability that once required an oscilloscope or highspeed digital voltmeter.
HP’s one-box solutions deliver the reliable capability of an integrated system for the price of a single box.

Realistic measurements of real-life product performance
HP’s mobile communications dc sources are designed for the unique challenges of simulating batteries in wireless phones and other battery-powered devices that draw current in short, pulsed bursts. Their fast and low voltage transient response minimizes device shutdown, ensuring maximum test-system throughput. Unlike the current readback feature in standard dc supplies, HP’s unique dynamic measurements work like a digital oscilloscope to capture the details you need to optimize power management in your products.
Precision power for high-confidence testing
By combining both high-level sourcing (up to 5 A peak) and fast, accurate low-level current measurements, these one-box solutions provide the vital tools for both R&D and production testing. The HP mobile communications dc sources include a new HP-developed technology that detects open sensewire connections. This feature helps to prevent inaccurate test results, incorrect battery charger calibration and low voltage phone shut down. The completely linear design ensures noise levels as low as 300 µV and greatly reduces the chance of interference with your RF tests.
Price/performance choices to match your unique leads
From the new low-cost HP 66111A to the dual-output HP 66309D, this family of solutions lets you choose the right
tool for the job. All models offer built-in HP-IB connectivity, with programming response times as fast as 400 µs to maximize manufacturing throughput.
A rack’s worth of capability in a single box
With the ability to measure instantaneous values, these supplies eliminate the cost and hassle of an oscilloscope or high-speed digital voltmeter (not to mention the shunt, multiplexer, cables and all the other gear you would need). Now you can catch and characterize those critical pulses with just your power supply.

Implement faster ATE solutions in less time
With the HP 6800 Series approach to power supply design, all the tools you need to control, deliver and measure dc power are built right into the supply. The one-box solution with integrated readback eliminates the voltmeters, shunts and other add-ons you normally need, while reducing your programming and maintenance chores.
Built-in HP-IB provides full control and readback, and Standard Commands for Programmable Instruments (SCPI) eliminate the most tedious part of program development. And the speed advantage continues when your system goes online. Output programming response times are as low as 15 ms.
Production tests are only as good as the power that drives them
With all the time, money and energy you invest in test systems, it only makes sense to employ the best power you can buy. Fortunately, the clean, stable power offered with the valuepriced HP 6600 Series makes it easy to buy the best. Even the high-power 2 kW and 5 kW supplies deliver low ripple and noise with tight line and load regulation.
Protect your equipment; protect your investment
HP system supplies take care of themselves and your devices under test with overvoltage, overcurrent and overtemperature protection plus discrete fault indicator/remote inhibit capability. The 3-year warranty we offer on all our supplies and HP’s record of reliability mean your investment is protected, too.
