GETTING STARTED WITH YOUR ESPRESSO COFFEE MAKER
Before using your espresso coffee maker for the first time, carefully read the instructions supplied including the SAFETY warnings.

Flushing the coffee maker with clean water.
1. Remove all packaging
2. Fill the tank with water up to the MAX level.
3. Plug in and switch on the machine by pressing the ON/OFF switch. The power on indicator light will glow as well as the heating unit indicator light.
4. Place a large cup on the removable grill and press the coffee switch. Wait until water comes out of the filter holder housing and allow at least a cupful of water to drain out. (Some steam may also escape from this area). Once finished press the coffee switch again. The unit is now ready to make coffee.
To make a cup of Espresso
1. Place the Thermocream disc into the filter holder. Add the thermocream filter making sure that the locating pips in the filter fit into the slots on the filter holder.
2. Place one measure of espresso coffee into the filter holder and press down lightly using the presser (add 2 measures for 2 cups).
3. Fit the filter holder to the machine by lifting into its housing and turning anti clockwise 40-45 degrees as far as possible without over tightening. Allow the filter to warm up before commencing.
4. Wait until the heating unit indicator light goes off.
5. Place a cup under the filter holder
6. Press the coffee switch. Coffee will flow into the cup. To stop the flow, press the switch again.
NEVER REMOVE THE FILTER HOLDER WHILE THE COFFEE SWITCH IS ON, AND ALWA YS WAIT A FEW MINUTES BEFORE REMOVING THE FILTER HOLDER
To froth milk to make a Cappucino.
1. Press the steam switch. The steam indicator light and the heating unit indicator light will glow. Wait until the heating unit indicator light goes off indicating that the unit is ready to make Cappuccino.
WARNING If small spurts of steam or water come out of the filter holder while waiting for the steam, this is normal.
2. Place a cup under the Maxi Cappuccino device. Turn the steam dispensing knob anti-clockwise, at first a little water will come out immediately followed by a strong jet of steam.
3. Turn the knob clockwise to stop the steam. Immerse the end of the Maxi Cappuccino device into the bottom of a jug or cup half filled with milk and turn the steam dispensing knob anti-clockwise and allow the milk to froth. During this operation the heating unit indicator light will go on and off at regular intervals indicating that the boiler is keeping the water required for the steam supply at the right temperature. It is best to start steam only when the light is off. Stop the steam by turning the steam dispensing knob clockwise.
4. After use, switch off all the buttons and unplug.
