1. Cleaning – Unplug this product from the wall
outlet before cleaning. Do not use liquid cleaners or
aerosol cleaners. Use a damp cloth for cleaning.
2. Attachments – Do not use attachments not
recommended by the product manufacturer as they
may cause hazards.
3. Water and Moisture – This product shall not be
exposed to dripping and splashing – for example, near
a bath tub, wash bowl, kitchen sink, or laundry tub; in
a wet basement; or near a swimming pool; and the
like. Do not place an object containing liquid, such as a
fl ower vase, on the appliance.
4. Accessories – Do not place this product on
an unstable cart, stand, tripod, bracket, or table.
The product may fall, causing serious injury to a
child or adult, and serious damage to the product.
Use only with a cart, stand, tripod, bracket, or table
recommended by the manufacturer. Any mounting
of the product should follow the manufacturer’s

5. Ventilation – Slots and openings in the cabinet

6. Power Sources –
This product should be operated
only from the type of power source indicated on the
product. If you are not sure of the type of power supply
to your home, consult your product dealer or local power
company.

8. Power Cord Protection – Power-supply cords
should be routed so that they are not likely to be

convenience receptacles, and the point where they exit
from the product.
9. Lightning – For added protection for this product
during a lightning storm, or when it is left unattended
and unused for long periods of time, unplug it from
the wall outlet and disconnect the antenna or cable
system. This will prevent damage to the product due to
lightning and power-line surges.
10. Overloading – Do not overload wall outlets,
extension cords, or integral convenience receptacles as
this can result in a risk of fi re or electric shock.
11. Object and Liquid Entry – Never push objects of
any kind into this product through openings as they
may touch dangerous voltage points or short-out parts
that could result in a fi re or electric shock. Never spill
liquid of any kind on the product.

13. Damage Requiring Service – Unplug this product

19. Outdoor Antenna Grounding – If an outside
antenna or cable system is connected to the product, be
sure the antenna or cable system is grounded so as to
provide some protection against voltage surges and builtup static charges. Article 810 of the National Electrical
Code, ANSI/NFPA 70, provides information with regard to
proper grounding of the mast and supporting structure,
grounding of the lead-in wire to an antenna discharge
unit, size of grounding conductors, location of antennadischarge unit, connection to grounding electrodes, and
requirements for the grounding electrode.

Installation
Installation Precautions
Install this unit on a level, stable position. If this unit is ins talled on a bench or tabletop, be sure to confi rm the strength in advance.•
The magnetism generated from the speakers may produce color irregularities on the screen of a TV or PC in proximity. Install the speakers at •
a distance from a T V or PC.
CAUTION
Observe the f ollowing cautions when installing the equipment inc luding the AC adapter. Insuffi cient ventilation builds up heat inside them and
may cause malfunction or a fi re hazard.
Do not place an object hindering heat radiation on the equipment.•
Do not lay the equipment on the rear or side panel or upside down.•
Do not cover the equipment with a cloth or place it on a carpe t or cushion.•
Do not use the equipment in a poorly ventilated location.•
Leave a space of 50 cm or more above the equipment.•
Install the equipment so that the power outlet is easily acce ssible. In the case of an abnormality, immediately unplug the AC adapter from the
power outlet. It is require d to unplug the AC adapter to shut off the power supply to the equipment completely.
Storage and Maintenance
Do not leave this unit in the following locations.

Precaution against condensation
When there is a large diff erence between the temperatures inside and outside this unit, water drops (dew) may be condensed inside the unit ,
in which case this unit may malf unction. If this happens, leave this unit for a few hour s until the condensation inside it dries up. Spe cial care is
required against condensation when this unit is transpor ted between locations with a large temperature diff erence or into a room with high
humidity.
When the equipment gets dirty
When the front panel or case is dirt y, wipe with a sof t, dry cloth. Do not use lacquer thinner, benzine, alcohol or contact rev italizer for these
chemicals may cause discoloration or deformation.

Connection precautions
Do not plug the power cord of the AC adapter until all connections have comple ted. Before disconnecting a connected cord or cab le, be sure to
turn this unit off (by pressing the OFF button) and unplug the power cord from the power outlet

Turning power ON
This unit is turned on at the moment the AC adapter is •
connected. Af ter playing music or viewing photos or video,
press the ALARM/OFF button to turn this unit off . This unit
displays the current time.

When the alarm operation is started at the •
alarm set time, pressing this button postpones

Standard for interfacing between a personal computer and peripherals. This unit is compliant to
USB 1.1, 2.0.
USB device type that is classifi ed as a large-capacity storage. A large-capacity storage such as a
hard disk belongs to the “USB Mass Storage Class.”
Stands for Variable Bit Rate. Refers to data allocation by varying the bit rate according to the
amount of information of music.
Stands for “Windows Media™ Audio. An audio compression coding method developed by
Microsoft Corporation, USA.

44.1 kHz with the CD. In general, the audio quality increases as the sampling frequency increases.

1. Nettoyage – Débrancher la prise murale du produit
avant d’entreprendre son nettoyage. Ne pas utiliser de
nettoyants liquides ni de produits en aérosol. Utiliser un
chiff on humide pour le nettoyage.
2. Equipements auxiliaires – Ne jamais employer
des équipements auxiliaires autres que ceux que
recommande le fabricant du produit car ils peuvent
présenter un risque.
3. Eau et humidité – Ce produit ne doit pas être
exposé aux écoulements d’eau ni aux éclaboussures –
par exemple, près d’une baignoire, d’un lavabo, d’un
évier, ou d’u’ cuve à lessive, dans un sous-sol humide, ou
près d’une piscine, etc. Ne placer aucun objet contenant
un liquide, tel qu’un vase de fl eurs, sur l’appareil.
4. Accessoires – Ne pas placer le produit sur un
socle, un chariot, un trépied, une console ou une table
instable. En plus des dégradations qu’il subirait, sa chute
pourrait provoquer de graves blessures aux enfants
ou adultes à proximité. Utiliser un socle, un chariot,
un trépied, une console ou une table conformes aux
recommandations du fabricant ou bien vendus avec le
produit. Pour fi xer le produit, suivre les instructions du
fabricant et utiliser des accessoires recommandés par le
fabricant.
Si le produit est placé sur un support
mobile, le déplacer avec soin. Les arrêts
brusques, contraintes ou irrégularités
du plancher par exemple pourraient
provoquer une chute du produit.
5. Aération – Le coff ret comporte des ouïes et des
ouvertures destinées à assurer une ventilation suffi sante
pour que l’appareil fonctionne bien sans échauff ement.
Ne jamais obstruer ces ouvertures. Ne jamais bloquer
les orifi ces d’aération en utilisant l’appareil sur un lit,
