When using electrical appliances, basic precautions should always be followed to reduce risk of fire, electric shock, and injury to persons,including the following:
1. Readall instructions before usingthisheater.
2. Never for any reasoncovertheappliance during operationas thiscould lead to dangerous
overheating.
3. This heater is hot when in use. To avoid burns, do not let bare skin touchhot surfaces. Use handle when moving this heater. Keep combustible materials, suchas furniture, pillows, bed-
ding, papers, clothes, and curtains at least3 feet (0,9 m) from the front and top of the heater and keep themaway from the sidesand rear.
4. Extremecaution is necessarywhen any heater is used by or near children or invalids and whe- neverthe heater is leftoperating and unattended.
5. Always unplug heaterwhen not in use.

7. Do not useoutdoors.
8. Thisheater is not intended for usein bathrooms,laundry areas ana similar indoor locations. Never locate heater where it may fall into a bathtub or other water container.
9. Do not run cord undercarpeting. Do not cover cordwith throw rugs, runners,or the like.
Arrange cord away fromtrafficarea and where itwill not betripped over.
10. To disconnectheater, turn controlsto off, thenremove plug from outlet.
11. Connectto properly polarized outletsonly.
12. Do not insert or allow foreign objects to enter any ventilation or exhaust opening as this may eausean electric shock,fire, or damage the heater.
13. To prevente possible fire, do not block air intakes or exhaust in any manner. Do not useon softsurfaces, like a bed, where openings may become blocked.
14. A heater has hotor arcing or sparking partsinside.Do not useit in areas where gasoline, paint, or flammable liquids are usedor stored.
15. Use this heater only as described in this manual Any other use not recommended by the manufacturer may causefire, electric shock,or injuryto persons.
16. To prevent overload and blown fuses, be sure that no other appliance is plugged into the sameoutlet (receptacle)or into another outlet (receptacle)wired into the same circuit.
17. It isnormalfor the heater'splug and cordto feelwarmtothetouch.A plug or cordwhich becomes hotto the touch or becomesdistorted in shapemay be a resultof a worn electricaloutlet. Worn
outletsor receptaclesshouldbe replaced prior to furtheruseof the heater. Pluggingheater into_a

20. Check that neither the appliance nor the power cable have beendamaged in any way during
transportation.
21. Make sure that no pieces of polystyreneor other packaging material have been left between one element of the appliance and another. Itmay be necessaryto passover the appliance with a vacuum cleaner.
22. When switchingon the applianceforthe firsttime, allow it to runat full power forabout two hoursto get rid of the unpleasantsmell.Make surethat the roomin which the applianceis locatedis well ventilatedduring this operation,it is normal for the appliance to emit small crackingsoundswhenyou turn it onfar thefirsttime.
