KHT2005 set up recommendations
When used with an Av amplifier/receiver.
Connect all speakers to amplifier/receiver & set up as “SMALL” speakers in bass management menu. Select subwoofer on or “bass out” to “SUBWOOFER” not “MAIN” or “BOTH”. Connect the subwoofer output on AV amp/receiver to the left low level input on subwoofer using a commercially available low level cable. A “Y” lead can be used to connect a single subwoofer cable to left and right low level inputs simultaneously for a stronger signal and a slight increase in output. Set crossover on subwoofer to maximum as the AV amp will send all relevant frequencies from speakers and LFE to the sub out jack. In this situation, all frequencies below a pre set (or adjustable point on some amps), are sent from all channels and combined with the .1 LFE, subwoofer channel. 80Hz or 90Hz are common crossover point’s, 80Hz is also the “roll off” frequency of the HTS2001 satellite speaker.
If your amp/receiver drops out the subwoofer during two channel operation, connect the system as described below.
Connect the centre speaker and rear speakers to amp/receiver and set as “small”. Connect subwoofer High Level inputs to amplifier/receiver main speaker out terminals using speaker cable of your choice. Connect the front left and right speakers to the High Level left and right outputs on the subwoofer. Set up main speakers as “LARGE” and bass out or LFE to “MAIN” speakers. Set subwoofer crossover to 80Hz or half way. The Subwoofer will now filter all bass (below crossover point) and send the main left & right speakers a clean, bass filtered signal.
Do not connect High level and Low level connections at the same time as you may get Distortion and or Phase problems.
