Inputs 1 and 2: 1/4-inch input jacks (L and R). When using a mono signal, plug into the L jack

XLR Input 3: This XLR input is designed for low-impedance microphones or equipment that has a Miclevel, balanced output. (not intended for line level signals, as distortion may occur.)

Volume control for Stereo Inputs 1 and 2 and XLR Input 3

Digital Signal Processing: The DSP Select button allows you to choose Room Reverb, Hall Reverb, Chorus & Reverb or Delay & Reverb

The DSP Level allows adjustment of the level of eect for Inputs 1 thru 3. In addition, the DSP Master

Level maintains an even balance over the individual preset eect levels.

Stereo Line In: This ⅛-inch jack is used for connecting any external audio source. The volume of the

input is controlled by the Line In control. This input is post EQ, pre Hi Shelf and Low Notch. If using a mono TR cable, the two signals are summed together.

Headphone Jack with Volume Control: This is a ¼-inch stereo output jack. It combines the inputs from

your drums, Mic Input (post EQ, pre High Shelf and Low Notch), and Stereo Line In.

For silent practice, turn Sub Level all the way down and disconnect Satellite Speakers

Warning – excessive volumes levels can damage/impair hearing

Equalization Section: These control the overall tone of the KAT HD400 Drum Amplier.

Low: This controls frequencies centered at 60 Hz with a +/-12 dB sweep. Mid: This controls frequencies centered at 800 Hz with a +/-12 dB sweep. High: This controls frequencies centered at 10 kHz with a +/-12 dB sweep.

Hi Shelf: Tailors the high frequency response to tame harsh and unruly cymbals sounds and snare

attack. Centered is FLAT. Turn counter-clockwise to reduce high frequencies produced by the horn. Turn to clockwise to increase these frequencies.

Low Notch Filter: (100 – 450Hz) Use the low-notch lter to pinpoint low end frequencies that may need to be lowered or reduced to work in the room environment you are in. Dierent rooms will reect the sound in ways that may bring out low end that is unwanted or too much. You can sweep through the low end frequencies with the FREQUENCY knob and reduce by up to -10db using CUT. Turning the CUT knob all the way to the left defeats the Low Notch Filter.

Sub Level Control: Volume for the sub that will assist you when dialing in the desired amount of low end

to accommodate the room’s acoustic environment

Power Indicator Light: Indicates that the power switch is in the “ON” position.
