OVERVIEW
The KCDJ-MP300 has been designed to give the creative DJ all of the facilities you need to perform your own innovative DJ sets. The KCDJ­MP300 plays both standard CD Audio and MP3 Audio files.
FEATURE DETAILS
q LCD DISPLAY - provides visual information regarding current settings.
w EJECT - opens and closes the CD TRAY. NOTE: the tray will not open when a disc is playing.
e TRACK SKIP - standard Track Skip buttons.
r TIME/STOP BUTTON - switches the screen
between showing Elapsed or Remaining time for an individual track or the entire CD. Press and hold for 3 seconds to place the unit in ‘stop’ mode.
t AUTO CUE/SINGLE/CONTINUE & OUTRO ­switches between standard CONTINUE mode where each track on a CD will be played in turn... and AUTO CUE SINGLE mode where when a track finishes, playback will stop and the beginning of the next track will be Cued ready for playback. Press and hold the button for three seconds to engage OUTRO mode where the last 30 seconds of the current track will be played. NOTE: OUTRO mode is not available with MP3 audio playback.
y RELAY - Only functions if a cable is used to connect the rear panel Relay socket to another KCDJ-MP300 player. in Single Mode causes -
each CD player to play individual tracks from each CD, back to back in relay. In Continuous Mode each CD will be played in turn until playback is stopped.
i JOG WHEEL - has three Modes. When SEARCH mode is selected via the SEARCH button (5), turning the wheel plays the currently selected track at high speed. When PITCH MODE is selected and the track is playing the wheel acts as an alternative Pitch Bend method. The amount of pitch change is determined by the speed of rotation. When playback is PAUSED (and PITCH MODE is selected) turning moves the currently selected Cue Point in either direction one frame at a time. When you have found the correct Cue Point, pressing PLAY assigns the Cue Point to the CUE BUTTON.
o PLAY/PAUSE - Each press of the PLAY/PAUSE button causes the operation to change from play to pause or from pause to play.
1) CUE - Pressing the CUE button during playback provides a return to the Cue Point from which play was started. To adjust the Cue Point pause playback, use the JOG WHEEL to locate the desired new Cue Point and press PLAY.
1! BOP BUTTON - Pressing this button at any time will cause playback to start from the currently selected main Cue Point.
1@ INSTANT CUE BUTTONS - These three buttons are used to store additional Cue points for instant recall during your performance. To assign a Cue point to a button; 1. Use the various Search & Cue Point selection tools to locate the desired Instant Cue point.
2. Press & hold the ‘Memo’ button and press either Cue 1, 2 or 3. Once a Cue point has been assigned to one of these buttons, pressing the button will instantly

start playback from the set Cue point.
2$ SAMPLER SECTION - Samples are short recordings of sound that can be played at the same time as the music from your CD. There is a maximum of 39 seconds of audio sampling time that is shared by the three Sample buttons. To record a sample; 1. Identify the start of a section of music on a CD you wish to sample and pause playback a few seconds before the section starts. 2. Press play. 3. Press the SAMPLER button. 4. Press one of the SAMPLE 1, 2 or 3 buttons at the precise moment you wish to be the start of your sample. 5. To set the sample end point press the appropriate SAMPLE button again at the correct moment.

2& DIGITAL AUDIO OUTPUT - RCA coaxial S/PDIF digital audio
output connector for use with digital amplifiers, mixers or computers.
2* REMOTE - minijack socket used to connect to the Fader Start output of a suitably equipped mixer. Please ensure you select the correct REMOTE START format to suit your mixer using the TACT/LOCK switch.
2( RELAY - minijack socket used to connect to another KCDJ-MP300 unit to enable the RELAY facility.
3) TACT/LOCK SWITCH - Used to select the appropriate type of FADER START signal for your mixer.

1# PITCH BUTTON - turns the Pitch control system
on & off.
1$ PITCH RANGE - Press repeatedly to select the pitch range of the PITCH SLIDER. The four LEDs will show the currently selected pitch range (+/-8%, +/-16%, +/-32% or +/-100%).
1% PITCH SLIDER - adjusts the Track Playback speed by up to +/-100% (depending upon the settings selected via the PITCH RANGE BUTTON).
1^ PITCH BEND BUTTONS - track playback speed will be adjusted by +/-16% for as long as you hold down one of these buttons.
1& KEY - activates the Key Lock function allowing you to make adjustment to Track playback speed using the pitch slider without altering the tonal pitch of the audio.
1* BPM BUTTON - Press once to switch the mode of the display between showing track BPM or the percentage change in pitch. Press and hold for three seconds to switch between Auto and Manual BPM modes. In Auto mode the track BPM is calculated and shown automatically. In Manual mode tap this button in time to the music to set the BPM value in the display.
1( EFFECT BUTTON - switches the function of the NUMBER BUTTONS between EFFECT mode and DIRECT ACCESS mode.
2) NUMBER BUTTONS - have two modes selected via the EFFECT button;
In DIRECT ACCESS mode the buttons are used to tap in a CD Track number for instant track recall.
In EFFECT mode each button recalls a different Effect. When selected the accompanying LED illuminates and various parameters of the effect can be edited via the PARAMETER and SCOPE controls. There are 9 different effects available;

SCRATCH: Moving the JOG WHEEL emulates scratching with vinyl. Can be performed independently, or in parallel with other effects. BRAKE: Engages vinyl turntable ‘motor off’ effect emulation. Can be performed independently, or in parallel with another effect. REVERSE: Simply reverses music playback. Can be performed independently, or in parallel with other effect. PHASER: Two copies of the same sound are played back slightly out of sync’ to produce a swirling, often metallic sound effect. FLANGER: Similar to a PHASER but with one copy played with constantly fluctuating playback speed to produced a slightly more dramatic and less metallic effect. FILTER: High Pass and Low Pass filters for completely removing either high or low frequencies from your music. CHOP: Chops music into slices & plays alternate slices. PAN: Throws the sound from side to side in the stereo sound field. ECHO: Introduces repeated echoes of your music.
2! SELECT - When in Effect mode this selects the individual Effect Parameter to be adjusted via the SCOPE control.
2@ SCOPE - When in Effect mode this alters the currently selected Effect Parameter as selected via the SELECT control.
2# SEAMLESS LOOP SECTION - You can create a seamless Loop of any section of audio from a CD. To create a Loop; 1. Identify a section of a track you wish to Loop and pause playback a few seconds before the section starts. 2. Press play. 3. Press BUTTON ‘A’ at the precise moment you wish to be the start of your Loop. 4. Press the B LOOP/EXIT BUTTON at the precise moment you wish to be the end of your Loop. 5. Your Loop should now play continuously. 6. To exit the Loop and return to normal CD playback press the B LOOP/EXIT BUTTON again.
7. You can jump straight back to playing your Loop again at any time by pressing the RELOOP BUTTON.
