CAUTION BEFORE FIRST USE
Please read all of the instructions for use and the Important
Safeguards carefully.
The iron has been greased, and as a result, the iron may slightly
smoke when switched on for the first time. After a short while, this will cease.
Before using for the first time, remove all packaging from the
appliance. Clean the soleplate with a soft cloth.
When starting, and while it is being used, the electric pump injects
water into the boiler. It makes a noise but this is normal. If you are pressing on the steam control trigger at this time, you may lose a little steam for a few seconds.
HINTS
Before using the appliance for the first time or if you have not used
the steam function for a few minutes, press the steam control trigger several times in a row while holding the iron away from your clothes. This will enable any cold water to be removed from the steam connection cord
For best results, use a mesh type ironing board to allow excess
steam to escape.
IRONING: PRECAUTION FOR USE AND TEMPERATURES
Always check first if a label with ironing instructions is attached to
the article that needs to be ironed. Follow these ironing instructions in all cases.
If ironing instructions are missing but you know the kind of fabric,
then see the table for recommended ironing temperatures.

The table is valid for the fiber materials only. If some kind of finish
has been applied (gloss, wrinkle, relief etc.), the textile can best be ironed at a lower temperature.
First sort out the fabrics according to ironing temperature: wool
with wool, cotton with cotton, etc.
The iron heats up quicker than it cools down. Therefore, start
ironing the articles requiring the lowest temperature such as those made of synthetic fibers. Then progress to the higher temperatures.
If the article is made of a mixture of different fibers, you must
always select the lowest ironing temperature of the composition of those fibers. (For example an item consisting of “60% polyester and 40% cotton” should be ironed at the temperature indicated for polyester and without steam.)
If you do not know what kind(s) of fabric(s) the article has been
made of, or for delicate fabrics, find a spot which will be invisible when wearing or using the article to try out the ironing temperature. (Always start at a low temperature and increase to one which gives the required results.)
Pure woolen fabrics (100% wool) may be pressed with the iron set
to a steam position. It is recommended to set the selector switch on position “Cotton”, apply shot-of-steam and use a dry pressing cloth.

When steam-ironing woolen fabrics, shining of the fabric may
occur. This can be prevented by turning the article inside out and ironing the inside or by interposing a light damp cloth.
Velvet and other textures that rapidly acquire shiny spots should
be ironed in one direction only (with the nap), applying only light pressure. On these fabrics, always keep the iron moving.
Iron the reverse side of synthetic materials and silk, it is not
advisable to use steam as this may cause stains.
When you have been ironing fabrics at a high setting, do not iron
articles that require a lower temperature (such as nylon…) immediately afterwards. Adjust the selector switch to a lower setting and wait until iron has cooled down to the desired temperature.
DRY PRESSING
Plug in the appliance. Turn the variable steam dial to position .
Plug in the iron switch (10).
Set the temperature dial for the desired fabric. Always check the
label of the garment before choosing the temperature setting.
Let the iron on its rest and wait until the temperature indicator light goes out before starting ironing.
Do not press the switch (1)
FILLING THE WATER TANK
Put the base on a stable, horizontal and heat resistant surface.
Pull out the water tank and slide it forward. Fill the water tank with
clear water up to its "Max" level.
Put the water tank back in the base correctly by sliding it
backward until it is locked.
Never add vinegar, detergents or other chemical products to the
water as this would damage the appliance, during normal use. See Cleaning section for more details.
Do not use the water tank without a filter (13). The connecting
elbow (14) needs to face the external side, towards the boiler unit.

FILLING THE WATER TANK DURING USE
When the water tank (7) is empty, the pilot light (12) lights up. As the water tank of this appliance is not under pressure, you can refill it during use. To do so, just proceed as described above in the "Filling with water" section. You can resume ironing immediately.
STEAM IRONING
Before plugging in, always check that the steam control trigger (1) is not locked in pressed position by switch (2).
Fill the water tank as described above with water and insert the mains plug into a wall socket.
As indicated on the temperature dial and in the table above, steam ironing is only possible at higher ironing temperatures, so set the dial to  or .
Place the iron on the iron rest.
Turn the temperature control dial to “steam ironing”, meaning
when you reach the steam symbol by adjusting the temperature.
Completely unwind the cord and plug into outlet.
If you intend to iron with steam, press both switches (9) and (10).
The steam indicator light (11) will be off until the required temperature is reached. Wait for the light (11) to go on before steam ironing. The temperature indicator light of the iron (4) will be on and will go off as soon as the desired temperature is reached.
During ironing this temperature indicator light will come on from
time to time. When this happens, the soleplate is being heated-up to the required temperature again. You can continue ironing.
Press the steam button (1) to release steam from the soleplate of
the iron (burst of steam). Release the button and the steam will stop. If you want a continuous jet of steam, hold the steam button down or lock it down with switch (2).
When ironing, the pilot light of the iron (4) will go on and off from
time to time. This means that the temperature of the iron is regulated by its thermostat. You can continue ironing.
When you use a lot of steam in a very short time, the steam output
is lightly reduced until your appliance produces enough steam to

reduce the difference. This phenomenon also happens when there is not enough water in the water tank.
When the water tank is running empty, you will hear more noise
when pressing the steam button. When empty, the pilot light (12) will light up. If you want to go on using the steam function, you will have to refill the water tank.
VERTICAL IRONING
The burst of steam button also allows you to iron delicate articles of clothing vertically. This feature is called "vertical burst of steam". To do so, hang your article of clothing on a hanger, keep the steam button (1) pressed (or locked by activating button (2)), and pass the iron to and fro in front of the article of clothing, making sure that the soleplate does not come into contact with the article of clothing. The distance between the soleplate and the article of clothing depends on the kind of textile and the creases.
WHEN YOU HAVE FINISHED IRONING
Turn the temperature dial to "MIN", switch the iron (10) and the boiler (9) off, and unplug the iron from the electrical outlet.
Leave the iron on the specially designed tilting tray.
Wait for the appliance to cool before storing it away.
ANTI-CALC FEATURE
There is a replaceable decalcification cartridge inside the tank of the appliance, which can absorb unsolvable calcium ion and send out solvable sodium ion so that water can be softened, and the process of calcium depositing will then be much slower.
Your appliance is provided with an anti-scale cartridge situated in the tank.
It is necessary to replace the cartridge every six months (or every 120 hours of ironing, whichever comes first). This period can vary according to the frequency of use of the iron and of the scale

NEVER USE THE APPLIANCE WITHOUT ITS FILTER.
CARE AND CLEANING
Clean the iron regularly according to the hardness of the water and the frequency of use.
Unplug the appliance and let it cool down.
To clean the plastic parts of the iron, use a humid cloth.
To clean the soleplate, make sure you use a humid cloth or a
product made especially for this purpose. Never use abrasive products.
We suggest to proceed with a boiler cleaning every 240 hours of
use, or approximately every year (whichever comes first)
Making sure the appliance is completely cooled down, and the
water tank is empty.
Turn the base upside down.
Open the anti-calc/safety valve (16) by turning the knob on the
underside counter clockwise, until it can be removed. Use a funnel and fill the boiler with a solution of water mixed with citric acid, or mixed with a solution of de-calcifying solution specially formulated for coffee makers or domestic appliance.
Let the solution in the tank for 1 hour and drain in the sink.
Replace the valve by turning it clockwise until it is locked.
