IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS

When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should
always be followed, including the following:

1. READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS

2. Check that your mains voltage corresponds to that stated on the rating

plate of the appliance before using the appliance.

3. To protect against electrical shock do not immerse cord, plug, or the

unit with motor in water or other liquid.

4. Close supervision is necessary when the appliance is used by or near

children.

5. Unplug from outlet when not in use and before putting on or taking off

parts or before cleaning.

6. Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug or after

can fall or be pulled in a tub of sink. Always place on a stable, flat
surface.

10. To disconnect, turn the appliance to off, and then remove the plug

from the wall outlet.

11. Do not unplug by pulling on the cord. To unplug, grasp the plug, not

the cord.

12. Do not pull or carry by the cord or use the cord as a handle.

13. Do not use the appliance for other than intended use.

14. This kind of appliance cannot function continuously; it is not a

professional type of appliance. It is necessary to make temporary

stops. Check the section “Important information" in the instruction

manual.

15. Avoid contact with moving parts, unless for a shoe.

16. The shoe polisher is designed for personal, non-professional use only.

POLARIZED PLUG INSTRUCTIONS

This appliance is equipped with a polarized plug (one blade is wider than
the other). To reduce the risk of electric shock, this plug will fit into the
polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not properly fit into the
outlet at first, reverse it. If it still does not fit, contact a competent qualified
electrician. Do not attempt to modify the plug in any way.

SHORT CORD INSTRUCTIONS

A short power supply cord is provided to reduce the hazards resulting
from becoming entangled in or tripping over a longer cord. Extension
cords are not recommended but may be used if care is exercised in
their use.

 The electrical rating of the extension cord should be at least that of

the appliance. If the electrical rating of the extension cord is too
low, it could overheat and burn.

 The resulting extended cord should be arranged so that it will not

drape over the counter top or tabletop where it can be pulled on by
children or tripped over.

USAGE TIME

This appliance is not for professional use. You should not use the
appliance continuously for more than the maximum continuous usage
time (a.k.a. KB) and follow the requested breaks.

Failure to follow this instruction carefully may result in damage to the
motor. Please refer to the rating label for the maximum continuous
usage time (KB xx min where xx is the allowed maximum usage time).
The breaks should last at least 10 minutes.

For this model, the maximum continuous usage time is 10 minutes.

IMPORTANT

 For a right use and to obtain the best polishing results we

recommend not to press the shoes too much on the appliance
while working, so that the brushes can turn at the maximum speed.

 CAUTION: this appliance is NOT suitable for suede or nubuck shoes.
 The fair bristle and the brown bristle brushes allow you to care for

both light-colored and dark shoes in one appliance, provided that
you use a colorless wax.

 After a while, the brushes will take the color of the polish wax that

you use, unless you use uncolored wax exclusively. This is normal.

 If you use dark colored wax on the shoes, please make sure that

light colored shoes are always polished only with the brush that is
used exclusively for the colorless wax, and not with the brush that
has been used for dark-colored wax, to prohibit any transfer of
color.

FILLING THE LIQUID WAX CONTAINER

 Pull on the wax container to separate it from the appliance.
 Unscrew the pouring lip.
 If the wax you use is different from the one you previously used,

clean the inside of the container with hot water.

 Pour the liquid wax, preferably colorless, until the container is filled

up to three quarters.

 Put the container back in place by inserting its right side first, then

insert the left side.

USAGE

 Make sure that this appliance is placed on an even surface and

that it cannot move or fall down.

 Plug the appliance.
 Make sure the sole of your shoes is not dirty or covered with mud.
 Make sure your laces (if any) are well tied

 If necessary, first clean your shoes with a soft damp cloth (to

remove the large residues on top of your shoes) and let them dry
thoroughly.

 Use the hard cleaning brush for the first polishing. To do so, press the

ON / OFF switch and press the shoe slightly against the hard brush.

 To polish, apply liquid wax on the shoe, pressing once or twice

(according to the type of wax) on the inferior part of the liquid wax
container with the shoe to be polished (alternatively, it is also
possible to apply the shoe polish/cream/wax of your choice
manually on the shoe, and use the appliance for the polishing).

 To polish your shoes, gently press your shoe against one of both soft

polishing brushes.

 If using both colorless and dark colored polish, reserve one polishing

brush for the light colored shoes, and the other for the dark colored
shoes.

 Once your shoes are polished and shined, switch off the appliance

by pressing the ON / OFF switch.

CLEANING

 Unplug the appliance and let it cool down.
 Clean the outside only with a dry cloth.
 NEVER USE THE APPLIANCE NEAR WATER; NEVER IMMERSE IT IN

WATER OR IN ANY OTHER LIQUID.

 You can remove the rubber foot rest to clean it with water. Make

sure it is dry before you put it back into place correctly.

 Any damage caused by a use which does not conform to these

instructions will exclude any liability.

WARRANTY

We suggest that you complete and return the enclosed Product
Registration Card promptly to facilitate verification of the date of
original purchase. However, return of the Product Registration Card is
not a condition of these warranties. You can also fill out this warranty
card online, at the following address: www.KALORIK.com

This KALORIK product is warranted in the U.S.A. for 1 year from the date
of purchase against defects in material and workmanship. This warranty
is not transferable. Keep the original sales receipt. Proof of purchase is
required to obtain warranty performance.

During this period, if the KALORIK product, upon inspection by KALORIK,

is proven defective, it will be repaired or replaced, at Kalorik’s option,

without charge to the customer. If a replacement product is sent, it will
carry the remaining warranty of the original product.

This warranty does not apply to any defect arising from a buyer's or
user's misuse of the product, negligence, failure to follow KALORIK
instructions noted in the user’s manual, use on current or voltage other
than that stamped on the product, wear and tear, alteration or repair
not authorized by KALORIK, or use for commercial purposes. There is no
warranty for glass parts, glass containers, filter basket, blades and
agitators, and accessories in general. There is also no warranty for parts
lost by the user.

ANY WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS WITH RESPECT TO THIS
PRODUCT IS ALSO LIMITED TO THE ONE YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY
PERIOD.

Some states do not allow limitation on how long an implied warranty
lasts or do not allow the exclusion of incidental or consequential
damages, so the above limitations may not apply to you. This warranty
gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights
which vary from state to state.

If the appliance should become defective within the warranty period
and more than 30 days after date of purchase, do not return the
appliance to the store: often, our Customer Service Representatives
can help solve the problem without having the product serviced. If

servicing is needed, a Representative can confirm whether the product
is under warranty and direct you to the nearest service location.

If this is the case, bring the product, or send it, postage prepaid by the
user (all Kalorik customers are responsible for the initial shipment back
to the warranty center), along with proof of purchase and a return
authorization number indicated on the outer package, given by our
Customer Service Representatives. Send to the authorized KALORIK
Service Center (please visit our website at www.KALORIK.com or call
our Customer Service Department for the address of our authorized
KALORIK Service Center).

When sending the product, please include a letter explaining the
nature of the claimed defect.

IMPORTANTES MEDIDAS DE PRECAUCIÓN

Al utilizar aparatos eléctricos se deben tener siempre en cuenta las siguientes
medidas básicas de precaución:

1. LEA TODAS LAS INSTRUCCIONES

2. Verifique que la corriente eléctrica corresponda a la indicada en la placa

de potencia eléctrica del aparato, antes de ser utilizado.

3. Para protegerse de una posible descarga eléctrica no sumerja el cable, el

enchufe o el motor del aparato en agua ni en ningún otro líquido.

4. Se requiere la supervisión de un adulto en caso de que el aparato sea

utilizado por niños o cerca de éstos.

5. Desconectar el aparato cuando no esté en uso, como así también antes

de colocar o quitar accesorios, o antes de su limpieza.

6. Nunca ponga en funcionamiento un aparato cuyo cable y/o enchufe

estén dañados, ni en caso de que no esté funcionando apropiadamente
o haya sufrido algún daño. Devuelva el aparato a la agencia autorizada
más cercana a su hogar para su revisación, reparación, o ajuste.

7. El uso de accesorios, o piezas, no recomendados por el fabricante del

aparato, podría causar fuego, descargas eléctricas, o daños en el mismo.

8. No utilizar el aparato a la intemperie o al aire libre.

9. Colóquelo únicamente en un suelo seco. No lo coloque ni guarde donde

se pueda caer o cerca de fregaderos o lugares de agua. Siempre en una
superficie plana y estable.

10. Para desconectar, apague el aparato, y desenchúfelo de la toma de

corriente.

11. No desenchufe tirando del cable. Tire del enchufe, pero nunca del cable.

12. No tire ni lo transporte tomándole del cordón eléctrico, no utilice el cordón

eléctrico como asa.

13. Utilice el aparato pura y exclusivamente para los fines indicados.

14. Este tipo de aparato no puede funcionar ininterrumpidamente; no es un

aparato de tipo profesional. Es imprescindible interrumpir su

funcionamiento temporariamente. Vea la sección “Información
Importante” en el manual de instrucciones.

15. Evite el contacto con las partes en movimiento, a menos que no sea un

calzado obviamente.

INSTRUCCIONES PARA ENCHUFE POLARIZADO

Este aparato cuenta con un enchufe polarizado (una clavija es más
ancha que la otra). Para evitar todo riesgo de shock eléctrico, dicho
enchufe va a encajar en la salida polarizada solamente de una forma.
Si en un principio el enchufe no encaja en el tomacorriente, inviértalo.
Si aun así no encaja, solicite el servicio de un electricista habilitado y
certificado. No trate por ningún medio de modificar el enchufe.

INSTRUCCIONES PARA CABLE CORTO

Este aparato está provisto de un cable corto, con el fin de evitar el
peligro de posibles enredos en el mismo, o de posibles tropiezos con un
cable largo. Se puede utilizar una extensión de cable siempre y
cuando se lo utilice con la precaución necesaria.

 La potencia eléctrica de la extensión de cable deberá ser como

mínimo igual a la del aparato. En caso de que la potencia
eléctrica de la extensión de cable fuese demasiado baja, podría
recalentarse y quemarse.

 La extensión de cable deberá ser acomodada de forma tal que no

cuelgue de la mesada o de la mesa y evitar así que los niños
tropiecen o tiren de la misma.

TIEMPO DE UTILIZACIÓN

Para una utilización óptima de su aparato y evitar el deterioro de su
motor, controle el tiempo de utilización continuada máxima indicada
en la placa de características. (KB xx min. donde xx es la duración
máxima). Pausa de utilización: 10 minutos.

Para este modelo, el tiempo máximo de uso continuado es de 10
minutos.

IMPORTANTE

 Para un uso correcto y para obtener los mejores resultados,

recomendamos no presionar demasiado los zapatos contra los
cepillos mientras el aparato esté en funcionamiento, para que el
aparato pueda funcionar a su máxima potencia.

 CUIDADO: este aparato no conviene para los zapatos de ante o

de Nubuck.

 Los cepillos para el betún y para lustrar le permitirán limpiar los

zapatos claros y los oscuros, siempre que utilice cera incolora.

 Después de un tiempo, los cepillos tomarán el color de la cera

para zapatos que use, a menos que utilice cera incolora
exclusivamente. Esto es normal.

 Si utiliza cera de color oscuro en los zapatos, por favor asegúrese

de que los zapatos de colores claros siempre sean lustrados con el
cepillo que se utiliza exclusivamente con la cera incolora, y no con
el cepillo que se ha utilizado para la cera de color oscuro, así se
evita cualquier transferencia de color en sus zapatos.

LLENAR EL DEPÓSITO DE CERA LÍQUIDA

 Saque el depósito para separarlo del aparato.
 Destornille el pico vertedor.
 Si no utiliza la misma cera que por la última vez, limpie el interior

del depósito con agua.

 Vierta la cera líquida, preferiblemente incolora, hasta llenar los tres

cuartos del recipiente.

 Ponga de nuevo el depósito en su sitio, insertando primero el lado

derecho y después el izquierdo.

UTILIZACIÓN

 Compruebe que el aparato esté colocado en una superficie

estable y llana y que no puede mover.

 Enchufe el aparato.
 Compruebe que la suela de sus zapatos no esté sucia ni borrosa.

 Si es necesario, limpie previamente sus zapatos con un pañuelo

ligeramente húmedo (para remover los residuos que están en sus
zapatos) y déjenles secar completamente.

 Utilice el cepillo duro de limpieza para el primer lustrado. Por esto,

presione el interruptor encendido / apagado y presione
ligeramente en el cepillo duro con su zapato.

 Por el lustrado, aplique la cera líquida en el zapato presionando 1 o

2 veces (según el tipo de cera utilizada) en la parte inferior del
depósito de cera líquida con el zapato que lustrar
(alternativamente, también es posible aplicar el betún de zapatos /
crema / cera de su elección de forma manual en el zapato, y
utilizar el aparato solo para el lustrado).

 Para lustrar sus zapatos, presione ligeramente el zapato contra uno

de ambos cepillos para lustrar.

 Si se utiliza tanto crema incolora como de color, utilice siempre un

cepillo para los zapatos con la crema oscura y el otro para los
zapatos con la crema incolora

 Una vez sus zapatos pulidos y lustrados, apague el aparato

presionando en el interruptor encendido / apagado.

LIMPIEZA

 Desenchufe el aparato
 Limpie el exterior únicamente con un paño seco.
 NUNCA UTILICE ESTE APARATO CERCA DEL AGUA, NUNCA LO

INTRODUZCA EN EL AGUA O EN CUALQUIER OTRO LÍQUIDO.

 Puede remover el reposapiés de goma para limpiarlo con agua.

Hágalo secar antes de ponerlo correctamente de nuevo en su sitio.

 Un uso no conforme con dichas instrucciones liberaría el revendedor

de cualquier responsabilidad.

un año contra los defectos materiales y de fabricación, en los Estados

Durante este período, si el producto KALORIK después de una inspección
por parte de KALORIK, se manifiesta defectuoso, será reparado o
remplazado, según lo que decida KALORIK, sin gastos para el consumidor.
Si se envía un producto de remplazo, se aplicará la garantía que queda
del producto original.

Esta garantía no se aplica a los defectos causados por una mala
utilización por parte del comprador o del usuario, o una negligencia al no

circuito eléctrico cuyo voltaje es diferente al que figura en el producto, o
