Safety Warnings
• Read all the instructions carefully before using the unit and keep them for future reference.
• Retain the manual. If you pass the unit onto a third party make sure to include this manual.
• Check that the voltage marked on the rating label matches your mains voltage.
Damage
• Please inspect the unit for damage after unpacking.
• Do not continue to operate the unit if you are in any doubt about it working normally, or if it is damaged in any way - switch o, withdraw the mains plug and consult your dealer.
Location of Unit
• The unit must be placed on a at stable surface and should not be subjected to vibrations.
• Do not place the unit on sloped or unstable surfaces as the unit may fall o or tip over.
• The mains socket must be located near the unit and should be easily accessible.
• This unit is designed for indoor, domestic use only.
Temperature
• Avoid extreme degrees of temperature, either hot or cold. Place the unit well away from heat sources such as radiators or gas / electric res.
• Avoid exposure to direct sunlight and other sources of heat.
Naked Flames
• Never place any type of candle or naked ame on the top of or near the unit.
Moisture
• To reduce the risk of re, electric shock or product damage, do not expose this unit to rain, moisture, dripping or splashing. No objects lled with liquids, such as vases, should be placed on the unit.
• If you spill any liquid into the unit, it can cause serious damage. Switch it o at the mains immediately. Withdraw the mains plug and consult your dealer.
Ventilation
• To prevent the risk of electric shock or re hazard due to overheating, ensure that curtains and other materials do not obstruct the ventilation vents.
• A minimum distance of 5 cm around the unit should be maintained to allow for sucient ventilation.
• Do not install or place this unit in a bookcase, built-in cabinet or in another conned space. Ensure the unit is well ventilated.
Safety
• Always disconnect the unit from the mains supply before connecting / disconnecting other devices or moving the unit.
• Unplug the unit from the mains socket during a lightning storm.
• In the interests of safety and to avoid unnecessary energy consumption, never leave the unit switched on while unattended for long periods of time, e.g. overnight, while on holiday or while out of the house. Switch it o and disconnect the mains plug from the mains socket.
Mains Cable
• Make sure the unit or unit stand is not resting on top of the mains cable, as the weight of the unit may damage the mains cable and create a safety hazard.
• If the mains cable is damaged it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent, or similarly qualied persons in order to avoid a hazard.
Interference
• Do not place the unit on or near appliances which may cause electromagnetic interference. If you do, it may adversely aect the operating performance of the unit, and cause a distorted picture or sound.
Batteries
• Batteries used in the remote control for this unit are easily swallowed by young children and this is dangerous.
• Keep loose batteries away from young children and make sure that the battery holder tray is secure in the remote control. Seek medical advice if you believe a cell has been swallowed.
• Please dispose of batteries correctly by following the guidance in this manual.

Supervision
• Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the unit and the remote control.
• Never let anyone especially children push anything into the holes, slots or any other openings in the case - this could result in a fatal electric shock.

Preparation
Battery Replacement for the Remote Control
1. Press and slide the back cover to open the battery compartment of the remote control.
2. Insert two AAA size batteries. Make sure the (+) and ( – ) ends of the batteries match the (+) and ( – ) ends indicated in the battery compartment.
3. Close the battery compartment cover.
Handling the Battery
• Improper or incorrect use of batteries may cause corrosion or battery leakage, which could cause re, personal injury or damage to property.
• Only use the battery type indicated in this manual.
• Do not install new batteries with used ones and do not mix dierent types of batteries.
• Do not dispose of used batteries as domestic waste. Dispose of them in accordance with local
regulations.
Handling the Remote Control
• Do not drop the remote control.
• Do not allow anything to impact the remote control.
• Do not spill water or any liquid on the remote control.
• Do not place the remote control on a wet object.
• Do not place the remote control under direct sunlight or near sources of excessive heat.
• Remove the battery from the remote control when not in use for a long period of time, as corrosion or
battery leakage may occur and result in physical injury, and / or property damage, and / or re.
• When the battery is exhausted, the remote control will not function.
Remote Control Operation Range
• The remote control sensor on the front unit is sensitive to the remote control’s commands up to a maximum of 5 metres away and within a maximum of a 60° arc.
• Please note that the operating distance may vary depending on the brightness of the room.

Setting Up the Unit
This unit is designed to be positioned under your TV. The unit supports a TV up to a maximum dimension of 48 cm (W) x 30 cm (D) for its base and within a maximum load of 30 kg.

1. Place the unit in the position where you want to place your TV.
2. Ensure all audio connections of the unit are connected before connecting to the mains power socket (refer to the section “Connections” for details).
3. Place your TV on the center of the unit.
4. Connect the mains cable to the mains socket.
• Do not try to set up this unit alone. It may need at least 2 persons to lift your TV. Otherwise it may result in a personal injury and / or property damages.
• Do not place the other objects except a TV or a monitor on the unit.
• The unit must be set up on a stable and horizontal surface.
• Do not put any other object between the unit and the supporting furniture when you set up the unit.

Connections
This section involves various methods of connecting the product to other external components. Ensure all audio connections of the unit are connected before connecting to the mains power socket.
Using the OPTICAL Connection
Use an optical cable (not included) to connect the TV’s OPTICAL OUT socket to the unit’s OPTICAL 1 or OPTICAL 2 socket.

If there is no sound output and the OPTICAL indicator ashes, ensure the audio setting of the input source (e.g. TV, game console, DVD player, etc.) is set to PCM mode with optical input.
Using the COAXIAL Connection
Use an coaxial cable (not included) to connect the external analogue component’s COAXIAL sockets to the unit’s COAXIAL socket.

Using the AUX Connection
Use an RCA stereo audio cable (not included) to connect the external analogue component’s AUDIO OUT sockets to the unit’s AUX IN 1 or AUX IN 2 sockets.

Connecting the DAB / FM Aerial
Connect one end of the aerial (included) to the ANT. socket at the rear of the unit. Then position the aerial to obtain optimum reception.

Connecting to the Mains Supply
The unit is designed to operate with the supplied mains cables. Unwind the mains cable to its full length. Connect the other end of the mains cable to the AC IN socket at the rear of the unit then connect the mains plug to the mains socket.

• Ensure all audio connections of the unit are connected before connecting to the mains power socket.
• Make sure the mains plug is rmly inserted into the mains socket.
• To switch the unit o completely, remove the mains plug from the mains socket.

Turning the Radio On for the First Time
When the rst time you switch on, the unit will automatically search and store all the available stations. You should conduct an additional Full Scan to ensure all stations are picked up and stored.
1. Connect the mains plug to a mains socket. Make sure the mains plug is fully inserted into the mains socket.
2. Press STANDBY/ON on the unit or
3. The unit will automatically enter into DAB mode and perform the auto scan function. During the scan, the display will show “Scanning …” together with a slide bar that indicates the progress of the scan and the amount of stations that have been found so far.

Basic Operation
This instruction manual explains the basic instructions for operating this unit. Unless otherwise stated, all operations described are based on remote control use.
Switching ON/OFF
When you rst connect the unit to the mains socket, the unit will be in STANDBY mode.
Press STANDBY/ON on the unit or ON and STANDBY modes. The display will show the last used mode.

The unit automatically turns to STANDBY mode after 10 minutes if the TV or the external unit is disconnected, switched o or the volume is too close to mute in Bluetooth®, AUX IN 1 Input, AUX IN 2 Input, Optical 1 Input, Optical 2 Input and Coaxial Input mode.
• Always disconnect the unit from the mains socket when not in use for a long period of time.
• Remove the mains plug from the mains socket if you want to switch the unit o completely.

While the unit is on, press SOURCE on the unit or on the remote control repeatedly to switch between DAB, FM, Bluetooth®, AUX IN 1 Input, AUX IN 2 Input, Optical 1 Input, Optical 2 Input and Coaxial Input modes.

Adjust the Speaker Level Settings
Adjusting the Volume
• Press + / – on the unit or VOL + / – on the remote control to adjust the volume.
• If you wish to turn the sound o, press MUTE on the remote control. Press MUTE again,
or press + / – on the unit or VOL + / – on the remote control to resume normal listening.
Selecting Equaliser (EQ) Eect
Press EQ to switch between preset equalisers to suit individual preference. Cycle through the preset equalisers to select the preferred sound ambience. Standard settings are Pop,
Default, Live, Movie, Jazz and Rock.
Automatically Setting the Clock
The clock can be set and updated automatically if you can receive DAB / FM signals in your location. In order for the clock to synchronise to the current local time you must leave it on one DAB / FM station for a short period of time.
AUX IN / OPTICAL / COAXIAL Operation
There are AUX IN 1 / AUX IN 2 / OPTICAL 1 / OPTICAL 2 / COAXIAL sockets located at the rear of the unit. The audio sound signals from other sources can be connected to the unit through these sockets.
1. Before connecting to the mains socket, ensure all the connections are completed.

Bluetooth® Operation
Pairing the unit with a Bluetooth® device to listen to music:
1. During ON mode, press SOURCE on the unit or on the remote control repeatedly to select Bluetooth® mode. The display will show “BT Ready”.
2. Activate your Bluetooth on your Bluetooth® device list.
3. Select “TH-WT301B” and enter “0000” for the password if necessary. The display will show “Device Connected”.

NFC (Near Field Communication) Operation
Pair your NFC-enabled mobile device directly with this unit by just a single tap.
1. Activate NFC on your mobile device.
2. While the unit is on, press SOURCE on the unit or on the remote control repeatedly to select Bluetooth® mode. “BT Ready” will be displayed on the window.
3. Tap the mobile device on the pops up. Your device’s Bluetooth® will be activated.

1. Ensure the unit is turned ON (not in STANDBY mode), press MENU on the unit or on the remote control to display the menu.
2. Press options and then press SELECT on the unit or on the remote control to conrm.
3. Press MENU on the unit or on the remote control to return to the previous menu.

This function allows you to programme the unit to switch to standby mode by itself after a set sleep time.

Set 12/24 Hour 12 or 24 hour format.
Set Date Format Select DD-MM-YYYY or MM-DD-YYYY date format.

In Backlight screen, press on the unit or on the remote control to scroll through the options then press SELECT on the unit or on the remote control to conrm.

Factory Reset
In the Factory Reset screen, press on the unit or on the remote control to select Ye s or No then press SELECT to conrm.
After factory reset, all tuned stations, preset stations will be erased and the unit will return to standby mode.

Software Upgrade
This function is only for servicing purposes. If selected accidently, press on the unit or
on the remote control to select No then press SELECT to exit.
Software Version
In the SW version screen, the software version will show on the display.
DAB Operation
1. Press SOURCE on the unit or on the remote control repeatedly to select DAB radio.
The unit will automatically perform auto scan function while the unit is connected to the mains power and switched on from standby for the rst time. If it’s not function, press SELECT on the unit or on the remote control to start auto scan in Station list menu. Alternatively, press on the unit or on the remote control, and then press SELECT on the unit or on the remote control to start auto scan in Full scan menu.
2. Once the scan has nished, the unit will display a list of the found stations. Explore the found stations by pressing TUNE, then on the unit or on the remote control. And then press SELECT on the unit or on the remote control to conrm selected station. All stations that have been found will be automatically stored.
In DAB mode, press MENU on the unit or the remote control to display the DAB menu. Press press SELECT on the unit or on the remote control to conrm.

The auto scan will search for the entire DAB Band III channels. After the scan has nished, the rst alphanumerically found station will be automatically selected.
1. Press MENU to enter the DAB menu, then press control to select “Full Scan”. Press SELECT to conrm. The display will show “Scanning ...” that indicates the progress of the scan and the amount of stations that have been found so far.

2. Once the scan has nished, the unit will display the total number of stations have been found and a list of the found stations. All stations that have been found will be automatically stored.

Full auto scan will not replace the DAB stations in memory. If you want to remove all the previously scanned stations, system reset is required.
Secondary Services
You may see a “>>” symbol after the name of the station, this indicates that there are secondary services available to that station. These secondary services contain extra services that are related to the primary station. e.g. a sports station may want to add extra commentaries. The secondary services are inserted directly after the primary station in the station list.

SELECT on the unit or on the remote control to select it.
When the secondary service ends, the unit will automatically switch back to the primary station.
Saving Preset Stations
You can store up to 10 of your favourite stations to the memory. This will enable you to access your favourite stations quickly and easily.
1. To store a preset, you must rst be listening to the station that you would like to save.
2. Press and hold you target preset button (1-10) on the remote control till the unit shows “Preset Stored”.

DAB Display Modes
Every time you press INFO on the remote control, the display will cycle through the following display modes.
The information is displayed on the lower segment of the display.
DLS (Dynamic Label Segment)
Dynamic label segment is a scrolling message that the broadcaster may include with their transmissions. The message usually includes information, such as
program details etc.
Signal Strength
The display will show a slide bar to indicate the signal strength, the stronger the signal, the longer the bar will be from left to right.
Programme Type
This describes the style of the programme that is being broadcast.
Ensemble/Multiplex Name
A multiplex is a collection of radio stations that are bundled and transmitted on one frequency. There are national and local multiplexes. Local ones contain stations that are specic to that area.

The frequency of the present station will be displayed.
DAB – unlike normal radio, groups together several radio stations and transmits them on one frequency.
Signal Error
The error is shown as a number. If the number is 0, it means the signal received is error free and the signal strength is strong. If the error rate is high, it is recommended to reposition the radio aerial or reposition the unit.
Audio Bit Rate
The display will show the digital audio bit rate being received with additional information about the audio codec and channel conguration.

This displays the current date provided automatically by the broadcaster.

FM Operation
1. Press SOURCE on the unit or on the remote control repeatedly to select FM radio.
2. Press MENU on the unit or the remote control to display the FM menu. Press unit or the unit or on the remote control to conrm.

Manual Tune
To tune FM frequency manually, press TUNE and then on the unit or on the remote control until your desired frequency is reached.
With FM radio it may be necessary to ne tune each station by pressing . Each turn will adjust the frequency by 0.05MHz. If reception is still poor, adjust the position of the aerial or try moving the radio to another location.

Presetting Stations
You can store up to 10 of your favourite stations to the memory. This will enable you to access your favourite stations quickly and easily.

Problem Solution
No power. • Ensure the mains plug is connected.
• Make sure that you select the ON mode.
The remote control is not function.
Loud hum or noise is heard.
No sound from the unit. Please try either one of the solutions below:
The unit does not respond when pressing any buttons.
• Use the remote control near the unit.
• Point the remote control at the remote sensor on the unit.
• Replace the battery in the remote control with a new one.
• Remove any obstacles between the remote control and
the unit.
• The plugs and sockets are dirty. Wipe them with a cloth slightly moistened with alcohol.
• Press STANDBY on the unit or switch the unit to standby mode. Then press the button again to switch the unit on.
• Unplug the unit from the mains socket, then plug it again. Switch on the unit.
• Ensure the audio setting of the input source (e.g. TV, game console, DVD player, etc.) is set to PCM mode with optical input.
• The unit may freeze up during use. Switch the unit o and then on again at the mains socket to reset the unit.

• Perform a system reset and then a DAB full scan.
Bluetooth®
Problem Solution
I cannot nd “TH-WT301B” on my Bluetooth® device.
• Ensure the Bluetooth® function is activated on your Bluetooth® device.
• Ensure you have paired your unit with the Bluetooth® device.
Some NFC-enabled mobile devices cannot pair directly with the unit.
• Download and install NFC reader apps into your NFC­enabled mobile device. Please refer to your mobile device’s guidebook for more details.
• Pair the NFC-enabled mobile device via Bluetooth®, and then tap the
icon.
• Pair your mobile device with the unit via Bluetooth®.
If any functional abnormality is encountered, unplug the unit from the mains socket and reconnect it again.
