IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
Follow the basic safety precautions
When using electrical appliances, basic safety
precautions should always be followed, to
reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, and/or injury to persons, including the following:
Z Read all instructions.Z To protect against fire, electric shock and
injury to persons, do not immerse cord,
plugs, or body of machine in water or other
liquid.
Z Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or
knobs.
Z Close supervision is necessary when any
appliance is used by or near children.
Z Unplug from outlet when not in use and
before cleaning. Allow to cool before
putting on or taking off parts.
Z Do not operate any appliance with a
damaged cord or plug or after the appliance
malfunctions, or has been damaged in any
manner. Return appliance to the nearest
authorized service facility for examination,
repair or adjustment.
Z The use of accessory attachement not
recommended by the appliance
manufacturer may result in fire,
electric shock, or injury to persons.
Z Do not use outdoors.Z Do not let the cord hang over the edge of a
table or counter, or touch hot surfaces.
Z Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric
burner, or in a heated oven.
Z Always attach plug to appliance first,
then plug cord into the wall outlet. To
disconnect, turn any control to »off«,
then remove plug from wall outlet.
Z Do not use appliance for other than
intended use.
Z For household use only.
Special cord set instructions
a. A short power supply cord is provided to
reduce the risk resulting from becoming
entangled in or tripping over a long cord.
b. Longer extension cords are available and
may be used if care is exercised in their use.
c. If an extension cord is used,
1. the marked electrical rating of the
extension cord should be at least as
great as the electrical rating of the
appliance, and
2. if the appliance is of the grounded
type, the extension cord should be a
grounding type 3-wire cord, and
3. the longer cord shall be arranged so
that it will not drape over the counter
top or tabletop where it can be pulled
on by children of tripped over.
Warning
To reduce the risk of fire or electric shock, do
not remove any service covers. No user
serviceable parts inside. Repair should be done
by authorized personnel only.

Caution
This appliance is for household use only.
Any servicing other than cleaning and user
maintenance should be performed by an
authorized service representative:
Z Do not immerse base in water or try to
disassemble.
Z To reduce the risk of fire or electric shock,
do not remove the base. No user serviceable

Z Keep the cord away from hot parts of the
appliance during operation.

The machine should be used solely
to warm cups and glasses. Use for
any other purpose will be deemed

cannot accept any responsibility for
the consequences of improper use.
Before using the machine, read
these instructions for use thoroughly and completely and comply
with the instructions they contain.
Keep the instructions for use close
to the machine and pass them on
to the next user if applicable.
For your safety
Please carefully read and observe
the important safety information
set out below. To avoid danger of
potentially fatal electric shock:
ZUse only the original mains cable
supplied by JURA.
ZNever use a machine which is
damaged or has a defective
mains cable.
ZNever start the machine with wet
hands.
ZBefore starting the machine,
ensure that the mains cable is
dry.
ZOnly use the mains cable sup-
plied as standard to connect the
machine to the alternating
current grid.
ZIn the event of signs of damage,
for example if there is a smell of
burning, unplug the machine
immediately from the power
supply and contact JURA service.
ZMake sure that the machine and
the mains cable are not located
close to hot surfaces or naked
flames.
ZBe careful to ensure that the
mains cable is not trapped and
does not rub against sharp
edges.
ZNever open and repair the
machine yourself. Do not modify
the machine in any way that is
not described in the instructions
for use. The machine contains
live parts.
A damaged machine is not safe and
could cause injury or fire. To avoid
damage and any associated risk of
injury or fire:
ZNever allow the mains cable to
loosely hang down. The mains
cable could pose a tripping
hazard or become damaged.
ZProtect the machine from envi-
ronmental influences such as
rain, frost and direct sunlight.
ZDo not use the machine to store
and warm beverages or other
types of food.

ZDo not put any moist or wet
cups in the cup warmer.
ZDo not immerse the machine,
mains cable or connections in
water.
ZDo not put the machine or any
individual parts in the dishwasher.
ZSwitch the machine off before
cleaning work and disconnect
the mains plug. Always wipe the
machine with a damp cloth
rather than a wet one, and
protect it from prolonged exposure to water splash. Do not
clean the inner side walls.
ZOnly connect the machine to the
mains voltage in accordance
with the information on the
rating plate. The rating plate is
located on the underside of the
machine. Further technical data
is given in Chapter 5 ‘Technical
data’.
ZSwitch the machine off if you are
going to be absent for a longer
period of time and disconnect
the mains plug.
ZOnly operate the machine when
supervised.
ZChildren may not clean or ser-
vice the machine unless supervised by a responsible person.
ZDo not allow children to play
with the machine.
ZKeep children under the age of
eight away from the machine, or
supervise them constantly.
ZChildren aged eight and over
may only operate the machine
without supervision if they have
been instructed in how to use it
safely. Children must be able to
recognise and understand the
potential dangers arising from
incorrect use.
People, including children, who
Zdo not have the physical, sensory
or mental capabilities to use the
machine safely or
Zare inexperienced or lack
knowledge
must be supervised by a responsible
person when using it, or must be
instructed in how to use it correctly.
1 Setting up and connecting
When setting up your cup warmer, please note the
following:
ZSet the machine down on a horizontal surface.ZChoose a spot for the machine which is
protected against overheating.
J WARNING
If the machine is operated with a defective mains
cable, there is a danger of potentially fatal electric
shock.
T Never use a machine which has a defective
mains cable.
T Connect the mains cable to the machine.T Insert the mains plug into a power socket.

2 Warming cups/glasses
T Remove the cover.T Put the cups and/or glasses in the cup
warmer.
T Put the cover on the cup warmer.T Switch the machine on using the On/Off
switch.
The machine begins to warm the cups.
E To switch the machine off, set the On/Off
switch to the ‘ä’ position.
3 Maintenance
E Do not use any harsh or abrasive cleaning
agents or hard objects for maintenance.
This may damage the machine.
T Before cleaning the machine, remove the
mains plug from the power socket.
T Clean the outside of the machine with a
soft, damp cloth (e.g. microfibre cloth).
E You can purchase JURA microfibre cloths
from your specialised dealer.
4 Environmentally friendly disposal
Please dispose of old machines in an environmentally friendly way.
Appropriate disposal of this product:

This symbol indicates that this product must not
be disposed of with normal household waste
within the entire EU. Recycle the machine in a
responsible manner to avoid potential damage to
the environment or the health of people due to
inappropriate waste disposal and to promote the
sustainable recycling of material resources. Please
use the return and collection system to return your
used machine or get in touch with the specialised
dealer from whom you purchased the product.
They will be able to submit the product for
environmentally friendly recycling.
