Product Introducti on
Please read this manual before installing, using or connecting the SL350 UPS. It has important information that should be followed to protect the
UPS and batteries and to provide for personal safety. If you experience a problem with this equipment, please refer to the Trou-
bleshooting section in this manual, look for additional information on the Juice Goose web site or contact Juice Goose directly
.
Product Overview
The SL-350 UPS uses advanced lithium battery technology to accomplis h a light weight and thin profile. That makes this UPS well suited for installation in small spaces previously impractical for ordinary UPS designs. In addition to battery power support, the SL-350 provides 312 Joul es of protection from AC power surges and spikes.
The SL-350 is designed to be used with a detachable power cord. A three foot cord with a right angle plug is provided with the unit. Should a different length or style of cord be needed for a particular installation or application one can be purchased at-large and installed into this UPS. That cord should have a NEMA 5-15P plug as well as a female IEC style connector to attach to the UPS.
This UPS has a power rating of 200 watts (350 VA). With that size electrical power load connected and with the UPS batteries fully charged, in the event of a utility power failure (“blackout”) the unit will provide continuou s electric power for approximately six minutes. The amount of time power is available increases as the connected load decreases.
Status of the SL-350 UPS can be monitore d using the provided software loaded on a PC or laptop connected to the UPS via a USB cable. The USB cable is not provided with this unit. Read further for additional details.
Installation and Startup
Before in stallation , inspect th e unit and pac kaging for dam age. Do not connect if damaged. Do not attempt to repair the unit.
Connecti ng a nd Charging
Before initial use of the UPS. Plug the UPS input cord (provided or purchased) into the UPS and into a wall outlet. Turn the UPS on using the power button on the chassis. To completely charge the batteries t he UPS should be charged for at least 8 hours before use. Th e UPS charges its batteries while it is connected to AC utility power and the power switch is on.
Connecting and Powering Loads
Plug equipment to be powered by the SL-350 into output receptacles on the UPS. That equipment will not receive power unless the UPS is turned on. To turn it on push the On / Off power button. When pushed again, that button will also turn off power to the outlets.

Indicators and Alarms
Condition Visual LED Audible Alarm
Utility Power Always Illuminated No Battery Power Every 10 Seconds Every 10 Seconds Low Battery Condition Every 1 Second Every 1 Second Fault Always Illuminated Continuous Over Temperature Every 0.5 Seconds No
UPS LED Does Not Display, No Power O utput - In this case make sure the UPS batteries are fully charged. Allow the unit to charge for eight hours without a load on the UPS. Make sure the power button has been pushed to turn on the unit. If neither step solves the problem contact Juice Goose.
Battery Run Time Is Short - The strength of the battery power supply can be tested by unplugging the unit from th e wall while a load of a k nown size is connected. The SL-350 should provide power for at least six minutes. If it does not, remove the connected equipment, plug the unit into wall power and charge the batteries for approximately eight hours. If that does not increase battery run time contact Juice Goose.
Alarm Sounds or LED Blinks - Under normal op erations the power LED on the unit should be on continuously and there s hould be no sound from th e UPS. If that is not the case, consult this manual for indications of probable causes. In the event of a blackout the LED and audible alarm will occ ur every ten seconds. Any other visible or audible alarm is an indication of a fault with either the batteries or the UPS. In that case
1. make note of the specific alarm indication
2. turn off the UPS and unplug it
3. contact Juice Goose.
