Unpacking
Open shipping cont ainer and check f or shipping
damage. Report any damage immediately to
your distributor and shipping agent. Do not
discard any shi pping material until t he Trunnion
Retrofit Assembly has been installed on the
band saw and is working properly.
Compare the cont ent s of y our cont ainer wit h the
parts list on page 4 to make sure all parts are
intact. Mi ssing parts, if any, should be reported
to your distri butor.
Assembly
Tools required for assembly (not provided):
1/2” and 9/16” wrenches
cross point (Phillips) screwdriver
set of hex wrenches
The JWBS-TR T runnion Bracket is designed to
be retro-fi tted t o an 18” or 2 0” J ET band saw. No
drilling will be necessary. Some f asteners used
on the old trunnion bracket will be re-used on
the new trunnion brack et. Proceed as follows:

1. Disconnect band saw from power sou rce.
2. Remove any accessories from the band saw
table such as fence and rails, miter gauge,
etc.
3. Remove the insert and t he pin from the band
saw table.
4. Remove the blade.
5. Unscrew and remove the two lock knobs
below the trunnions, and remove the table
from the band saw. NOTE: You may need
an assistant to help remove the table.
6. Remove the old trunni ons from the table by
unscrewing the six hex c ap screws.
7. Remove the four hex cap screws and lock
washers holding t he old trunnion bracket to
the band saw, and remov e the old trunnion
bracket.
(NOTE: It is not necessary to remove the
blade guides – the se it em s are not shown in
the Figures for purpose s of c larity.)
8. Set the new trunnion bracket into place on
the band saw, and insert four 5/16 x 1-1/2
hex cap screws wit h four 5/16 lock washers
(Figure 1). Tight en the screws.

9. Remove the 90-degree stop scre w with hex
nut and lock washer (Figure 2) f rom t he old
trunnion bracket, and install them on the
new trunnion bracket .
10. Remove the pointer and screw (Figure 2)
from the old trunnion bracket and install
them on the new trunni on br ac k et.
11. The trunni on clamp shoe and hex cap scr ew
that were used prev iously, should be placed
inside the new trunnions (Figure 3).
12. Mount the t wo trunnions to t he bott om of t he
table, using t hree M6 x 16 socket head cap
screws, M6 lock washers, and M6 flat
washers, in each t r unnion. See Figure 3.
13. Mount the table to the trunnion bracket,
making sure the screws in t he trunnions are
inserted through the holes in the bracket
(Figure 4).
14. Install t he two lock knobs (Fi gure 4) onto the
two trunnion screws, and tighten the lock
knobs.
15. Install the blade.

16. Install the insert and pin on the table.
17. Plac e a square on the t able and agai nst the
back edge of the blade (Figure 5). If the
table is not 90 degrees to t he back edge of
the blade, use one of t he set scre ws (Fi gure
6) to adjust the l evel of the tr unni on bracket .
Loosen the two hex cap screws nearest the
set screw that need s adjusti ng, and tur n the
set screw with a hex wrench as needed.
18. When the table is square with the back edge
of the bl ade, tighten the hex cap scre ws in
the trunnion bracket.
19. A djust the 90-degree stop screw as needed
(see your band saw manual for instructions).
Install any accessori es on the table such as
fence and rails, mi ter gauge, etc.
NOTE: Bef ore using the band saw with t he new
trunnion bracket, you should be thoroughly
familiar with the operating and safety
instructions found in your band saw manual.
