Cleaning
Thesaturationof greasyresidueinthe blowerandfiltersmaycauseincreasedflammability.
Keepunitcleanandfreeof greaseandresiduebuild-upat alltimestopreventpossiblefires.
Filtersmustbecleanedperiodicallyandfreefromaccumulationof cookingresidue(seeclean-
inginstructionsinside).Oldandwornfiltersmustbereplacedimmediately.Donotoperateblow-
erswhen filtersareremoved.Neverdisassemblepartsto cleanwithoutproperinstructions.

CLEANING
SurfaceMaintenance:
Cleanperiodicallywith hotsoapywaterandcleancottoncloth.Donotusecorrosiveor abrasive
detergent,orsteelwool/scouringpadswhichwillscratchanddamagesurface.
Forheaviersoilusea liquiddegreasingcleaner.
Aftercleaning,youmayusenon-abrasivestainlesssteelpolish/cleaners,topolishandbuffoutthe
stainlesslusterandgrain.Alwaysscrublightly,withcleancottoncloth,andwith thegrain.Donot
useanyproductcontainingchlorinebleach.Donotuse"orange"cleaners.

Residueandgreasefromcookingwill collectintheresiduecuplocatedinsidetherangehood,
behindtheperforateddiffuserpanels.Periodically,cleanoutresidueincup.Cleanbyhandorin a
dishwasher.Spraydegreasingdetergentandleavetosoakif heavilysoiled.

SELFCLEANFEATURE
UsingSelfCleaning:
Models UXT5230AD*& UXT5236AD*hoods aredesigned with a self cleaning feature. Thecentrifugal
blower systemautomatically liquefies cooking residue accumulated in its internalhousing, and
deposits the residuein the cleaning cup. Nevertheless,grease from cooking can alsodry and adhere
in the internal housing.Running the self clean function periodically will flush out accumulated
residue in the range hood's internal housing.
CleaningFrequency:
Cleaningshouldbecompletedapproximatelyoncea monthundernormaluse.
Detergent:
Non-corrosive,non-abrasivegreasecuttingspraydetergentsarerecommended.
SelfClean:
Turnbloweron lowestspeedforcleaning.
With nozzleon 'spray',squirt the greasecutting
detergent through the safety grill,directly onto
blower blades 10-15 times.
Allowselfcleaningtocompletefor5 minutes,
turnbloweroff.
Removecleaningcup.Cleanw/mild detergent
or in dishwasherundernormalwashcycle.
