 To prevent fireorshock hazard, do not exposethis appliance to rain or moisture.  To avoid condensation to be formed inside, allow the unit to adapt to the surrounding temperatures when

bringing it into a warm room after transport. Condense sometimes prevents the unit from working at full performance or may even cause damages.

 This unit is for indoor use only.  Don’t place metal objects or spill liquid inside the unit. No objects filled with liquids, such as vases,shall be

placed on this appliance. Electric shock or malfunction may result. If a foreign object enters the unit, immediately disconnect the mainspower.

 No naked flame sources, such as lighted candles, should be placedon the appliance.  Don’t cover any ventilation openings as this mayresult in overheating.  Preventuse in dusty environmentsand clean the unit regularly.  Keep the unit away from children.  Inexperienced persons should not operatethis device.  Maximumsave ambient temperatureis 40°C. Don’t use this unit at higher ambient temperatures.  Alwaysunplug theunit when it is not used for a longer timeorbeforeyou startservicing.  The electrical installation should be carried out by qualified personal only, according to the regulations for

electricaland mechanicalsafety in your country.

 Check that the availablevoltageis not higher than the one stated on the rear panel of the unit.  The socket inlet shall remain operablefor disconnection from the mains.  The power cord should always be in perfect condition. Switch the unit immediately off when thepower cord

is squashed or damaged. It must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.

 Never let the power-cord come into contact with other cables!  When the powerswitch is in OFFposition, this unitis not completely disconnected fromthe mains!  This appliancemust be earthed to in order comply withsafety regulations.  In order to prevent electric shock, do not open the cover. Apart from the mains fuse there are no user

serviceablepartsinside.

CONNECTIONS

Use good quality audiocables toprevent bad audio quality. For more information on connections,please refer to the next chapter. Be sure to turn off the unit before you makechanges to the different connections. In this manual we talk about “line inputs”. This is a global name for inputs with a level between 750mV and 2V.This includes tuners, videos, CD-players, etc.

FUNCTIONS

The AM-50 active monitor set is composed of an active (stereo amplifier inside) and a passive cabinet. Belowonly thedifferent partsof the activecabinet are described.

1. POWERindicator: This logo is lit whenthe unit is switchedon.

2. INPUT GAIN: Used to set the output volume of the speakers

3. BASS REFLEXOPENING: used toincrease the bass response, never put objects in this opening!

4. AUDIO OUTPUT:line leveloutput (RCA connector), used to connect extraaudioequipment.

5. AUDIO INPUT: line level input (3,5mm² stereo JACK connector). Optional RCA to 3,5mm² stereo JACK

cables are available from JB Systems®(ordercode = MJC-1M5)

6. SPEAKER OUTPUT: use the included speaker cable to connect the passive cabinet to the amplifier inside the activecabinet. Make sure that the wiring on both cabinets is identical, otherwise the music will lack low frequencies:

 COPPER colored wire of the speakercable on both sides connected tothe RED connection terminal.  SILVERcolored wire of the speakercable on both sides connected to the BLACK connection terminal.

7. POWERswitch: Used to switch the amplifiers on/off

8. VOLTAGEselector: used to select the desired mains voltage. ForEurope you shoulduse220V~240V.

9. MAINS input: IEC mains socketwith integrated fuse holder, connect the supplied mains cablehere.
