ThefollowingsareveryimportantforthecorrectmanagementandeconomicuseofJACvehicles,andtheyshallberead carefullybeforeuseandmaintenance.

Nameplate

ThenameplateislocatedneartheVIN,onwhichitmarkedwithinformation aboutthevehicle,suchasitsvehiclemodel,enginemodel,ex-worksdate, etc.

Chassisnumber

Thechassisnumber,thatisVINcodenumber,isstampedontheoutersideof therightlongeronendoftheframe.

Overload

Overloadingwillshortenvehicle'sservicelife,butalsobringaboutpotential risktosafedriving. Theloadingmassmustbelimitedtothespecifiedrangeofthemax.totalmass forvehicle,andtheloaddistributionsonthefrontandrearshaftsshallnotbe morethanthecarryingcapacityofthevehicleshafts.Pleaserefertothetechni鄄 calspecificationsheetfortheratedtotalmassvalueandshaftloadingcapacity.

Operatethevehicleatmoderatespeedsduringthefirst1,000km(600miles)tobreakitin.Makecertainthatthefollow鄄 ingpointsinparticulararestrictlyobserved.

Allowtheenginetowarmupfullyuntilthecoolanttemperaturereachesabout60益(140℉).

Avoidracingtheengine,abruptstart,accelerationandbraking.

Avoidoverloadingthevehicle,asthiswillresultinashorterlife.

Avoidhighspeedoperationasfaraspossible.Duringbreak-inoperation,makesurethattheenginespeeddoesnot exceed1,500rpm. Makesurethatyourvehicledoesnotmissthefirst1,000km(600miles)and5,000km(2,500miles)inspections. Afterthefirst1,000km(600miles)and5,000km(2,500miles)ordriving,takeyourvehicletoyournearestserviceshop forinspectionsbasedonthe'MaintenanceRequirements'.

Youcanreleasethekeybypressingtheknobwhenthekeyisin'LOCK"posi鄄 tion.

DOORLOCKS

1.Lockingusingthekey

Lockthedoorbyturningthekeytowardtherearofthecarandunlockitby turningittowardthefront.

CAUTION:

Becarefulnottolockthedoorwiththeignitionkeyleftinthevehicle.

2.Lockingfrominside

TolockyourJACfrominside,simplyclosethedoorandpushthelockbutton down. Whenthisisdone,thedoorcannotbeopenedusingeithertheinsideorthe outsidedoorhandle.

Thedoorscanbelockedwithoutakey. Firstpushthelockknobdown,thenclosethedoorwhiledepressingthepush buttonforward.

WINDOWGLASS

Toraiseorlowerthewindow,turnthewindow,regulatorhandleclockwiseor counterclockwise.

WARNING:

Whenopeningorclosingthewindows,makesureyourpassenger'sarmsand handsaresafelyoutoftheway.

CENTRALDOORLOCKS(Ifinstalled)

Thecentraldoorlockingsystemislocatedonthedriver'sdoorlockbutton.Itisoperatedbydepressingthedoorlock button.Ifthefrontdoorisopenwhenthebuttonisdepressed,thedoorwilllockwhenclosed.

NOTE:

Whenthefrontdoorlockbuttonisdepressed,thefrontdoorswilllock.When thefrontdoorlockbuttonIspulledup,thefrontdoorswillunlock.

POWERWINDOWS(Ifinstalled)

Thepowerwindowsoperatewhentheignitionkeyisinthe'ON'position.The mainswitchesarelocatedonthedriver'sdoorsideandcontrolthepassen鄄 ger'sside.Thewindowsmaybeopenedbydepressingtheappropriatewin鄄 dowswitchandclosedbypullingupontheswitch.Toopenthewindowonthe driver'sside,presstheswitch(1)halfwaydown.Thewindowsmovesaslong astheswitchisoperated.Tofullyopenthedriver'swindowautomatically, presstheswitchfullydown.Inautomaticoperation,thewindowwillfullyopen evenifyouletgooftheswitch.Tostopatthedesiredopening,pulluponand releasetheswitch.Inordertopreventoperationofthewindowbypassenger, awindowlockswitch(2)isprovidedonthedriver'sdoor.Therearetwotypes ofthepowerwindowswitch.Oneoperatesfor30secondsaftertheignition keyisturnedto"ACC'or'LOCK',butthepowerwindowglassdoesn'tmove whendoorsopen.

Tomovetheseattowardthefrontorrear,pullthelockreleaseleverupwards. Thisreleasestheseatonitstracksoyoucanmoveitforwardorrearwardto thedesiredposition.Whenyoufindthepositionyouwant,releasethelever andslidetheseatforwardorrearwardonitstrackuntilitlocksintoposition andcannotbemovedfurther.

SeatCushionHeightFixing(Driver'ssideonly)(Ifinstalled)

Tofixtheheightoftheseatcushion,fitthelockingknobtothelocker.Itwill holdyourseatpositionfromthevibration.

Thearmrestwillberaisedorloweredmanually. Toraisethearmrest,pullitup. Tolowerit,pressthearmrestdown.

AdjustingSeatbackAngle

Toreclinetheseatback,leanforwardtoyou'reyourweightoffit,thenpullup onthereclinercontrolleverattheoutsideedgeoftheseat.Nowleanbackun鄄 tilthedesiredseatbackangleisachieved.Tolocktheseatbackintoposition, releasethereclinercontrollever.

WARNING:

Tominimizeriskofpersonalinjuryineventofacollisionorsuddenstop,both thedriverandpassengerseatbacksshouldalwaysbeinanearlyuprightposi鄄 tionwhilethevehicleisinmotion.Theprotectionprovidedbytheseatbelts maybereducedsignificantlywhentheseatbackisreclined.Thereisgreater riskthatthepassengerwillslideunderthebeltresultinginseriousinjurywhen theseatbackisreclined. AdjustableHeadrests(Ifinstalled)

TheheadrestsinyourJACmayberaisedorloweredbyreleasingthelock buttonontheheadrestsupport.Toraisetheheadrest,pullitup.Tolowerit, presstheheadrestdown.Tomovetheheadrestforeward,pullonthetop.For maximumeffectivenessincaseofanaccidenttheheadrestshouldbeadjust鄄 edsothetopoftheheadrestisatthesameheightasthetopofoccupant's ears.Forthisreason,theuseofacushionthatholdsthebodyawayfromthe seatbackshouldnotbeused.

SEATBELTPIVOT

HEIGHTADJUSTMENT(Ifinstalled)

Thelocationoftheupperanchoragepointcanbeset(forgreaterbeltcomfort andsecurity)toanyoneoffourpresetpositions.Toadjusttheseatbeltpivot pushtheknobupwardordownwardtotherequiredsetting,ensuringthatit engagesoneofthepresetpositions (onreleasingtheknob).Theheightad鄄 justermustalwaysbelockedintopositionwhilethevehicleisstationary.Do notattempttoadjusttheheightoftheupperanchoragepointwhilethevehi鄄 cleismoving.Ifyouareanydoubtastothemethodofadjustmentortheopti鄄 mumheightpositionforyourfrontseatbeltalwayscontactyournearestJAC Dealer.

SEATBELTS(3-PointType)

ToFastenYourBelt

Tofastenyourseatbelt,pullitoutoftheretractorandinsertthemetaltabinto thebuckle.Therewillbeanaudible"click,,whenthetablocksintothebuckle. Theseatbeltautomaticallyadjuststotheproperlengthonlyafterthelapbelt isadjustedmanuallysothatitfitssnuglyaroundyourhips.Ifyouleanforward inaslow,easymotion,thebeltwillextendandletyoumovearound.Ifthereis asuddenstoporimpact,however,thebeltwilllockintoposition.Itwillalso lockifyoutrytoleanforwardtooquickly. Checktomakesurethebeltisproperlylockedandthatthebeltisnottwisted.

NOTE:

Ifthedriver'sseatbeltisnotfastenedwhentheignitionkeyIsinthe"ON"posi鄄 tion,theseatbeltwarninglightwillflash.

AdjustingYourSeatBelt

Youshouldplacethebeltaslowaspossibleonyourhips,notonyourwaist.If locatedtoohighonyourbody,thechancesofslidingoutfromunderitand sufferingseriousinjuryordeathareincreased.Botharmsshouldnotbeunder oroverthebelt.Rather,oneshouldbeoverandtheotherunder,asshownin theillustration.

ToReleasetheSeatBelt

Theseatbeltisreleasedbypressingthereleasebuttoninthelockingbuckle. Whenitisreleased,thebeltshouldautomaticallydrawbackintotheretractor. Ifthisdoesnothappen,checkthebelttobesureitisnottwisted,thentryita鄄 gain.

Depresstheswitchtolockthedifferentialandchecktoseethat theDifferentiallockindicatorlightison.Depresstheswitchagain toreleasethedifferential. Lockthedifferentialbeforedrivingonroughroad.Aftergetting outoftheroughroad,besuretoreleasethedifferential.Ifithas becomeimpossibletomovethevehicleandthedifferentialisnot locked,stoptherearwheelsandlockthedifferentialimmediately.

FUELGAUGE

Thefuelgaugewillindicatetheapproximatefuellevelinthetank,whentheig鄄 nitionisinthe"ON"position. Thepositionofthepointerwillvaryslightlywhenaccelerating,braking,or whenthevehicleisgoingupordownhill.Socheckyourfuelsupplywhenthe vehicleismoreorlessspecifiedlevel,whetherstandingstillormoving.

WATERTEMPERATUREGAUGE

Whentheignitionswitchis"ON",thisgaugeindicatesthetemperatureofthe coolant.Undermostdrivingconditions,theneedlewillremainatapproximately thehalfwaypoint.Stopandgodriving,drivingathighspeedsduringwarm weatherordrivingupasteepgradientmaycausethepointertomovetoward theredsector.Ifyourvehicleoverheats,waterlampcomesandtheindicator goesup.Howeverwhenthequantityofcoolantisbelowofthespecification, thewarningbuzzerwillsound. Atthistime,stopyourvehicleimmediately.

VOLTAGEGAUGE

Thevoltmeterindicatesthebatterystateofcharge.Checkwhiletheengineis running.Thepointershouldalwaysindicatebetween20and30volts. Ifthepointerreadsabove30voltsorbelow20volts,contactyournearestau鄄 thorizedJACdealer.

Thegaugeindicatestheengineoilpressurewhiletheengineisrunning. Ifthegaugeindicatesbelow0.5kg/cm2,oilwarninglampcomesonand buzzerwillsoundatthesametime. Atthistimestoptheengineimmediatelyandcheckthelubricatingsystem.

NOTE:

AMandFMradiosignalsarebroadcastfromtransmittertowerslocated aroundyourcity.Theyareinterceptedbyethradioantennaonyourcar.This signalisthenreceivedbytheradioandsenttoyourcarspeakers. Whenastrongradiosignalhasreachedyourvehicle,thepreciseengineering ofyouraudiosystemensureshighqualityreproduction.However,insome casesthesignalcomingtoyourvehicleisnotstrongandclear.Thiscanbe duetofactorssuchasthedistancefromtheradiostation,closenessofother strongradiostationsorthepresenceofbuildings,bridgesorotherlargeob鄄 structionsinthearea.

AMsignalreceptionisusuallybetterthanFMreception.ThisisbecauseAM radiowavesaretransmittedatlowfrequency.Theselong,lowfrequencyradio wavescanfollowthecurvatureoftheearthratherthantravellingstraightoutin鄄 totheinosphere.Inaddition,theycurvearoundobstructionssothattheycan providebettersignalcoverage.Becauseofthis,clearAMbroadcastscanbe receivedatgreaterdistancesthanFMbroadcasts.

FMbroadcastsaretransmittedathighfrequencyanddonotbendtofollowthe earth'ssurface.Becauseofthis,FMbroadcastsgenerallybegintofadeat shortdistancesfromthestation.Also,FMsignalsareeasilyaffectedbybuild鄄 ings,mountains,orotherobstructions.Thesecanresultincertainlistening conditionswhichmightleadyoutobelieveaproblemexistswithyourradio. Thefollowingconditionsarenormalanddonotindicateradiotrouble:

Fading-Asyourcarmovesawayfromtheradiostation,thesignalwill weakenandsoundwillbegintofade.Whenthisoccurs,wesuggestthatyou selectanotherstrongerstation.

Flutter/Static-WeakFMsignalsorlargeobstructionsbetweenthetransmitter andyourradiocandisturbthesignalcausirngstaticorflutteringnoisestooccur. Reducingthetreblelevelmaylessenthiseffectuntilthedisturbanceclears. StationSwapping-AsaFMsignalweakens,anothermorepowerfulsignal nearthesamefrequencymaybegintoplay.Thisisbecauseyourradioisde鄄 signedtolockontotheclearestsignal.Ifthisoccurs,selectanotherstation withastrongersignal. Multi-PathCancellation-Radiosignalsbeingreceivedfromseveraldirections cancause distortionorfluttering.Thiscanbecausedbyadirectandare鄄 flectedsignalfromthesamestation,orbysignalsfromtwostationswithclose frequencies.Ifthisoccurs,selectanotherstationuntiltheconditionhaspassed.

Abruptbraking

Intheeventofanemergency,depressthebrakepedalalltheway.Thebrakesareappliedtoallwheelsandthevehicle stopsabruptly.Becarefulofstrongshockproducedwhenthevehiclestops.

Ifthecoolanttemperatureremainsataround100~C (212~F),theengineis slightlyoverheated.Withthevehiclestationary,continuetoruntheengineto coolitorshiftintoalowerspeedgeartoreducetheengineload. Ifthepointerpassesbeyond110~C (230毅F)andenterstheredzone,theen鄄

gineisoverheated.Thewatertemperaturewarninglightwillalsolight.Stopthe vehicleandruntheengineataslightlyhigherspeedthantheidlespeedto cooltheengine. Donotstoptheengineimmediately.Asuddenriseincoolanttemperature couldcauseseizureoftheengine. Howtorelease

Whenthecompressedairpressurefellandtheemergencybrakeswereman鄄 uallyapplied,runtheengineuntiltheAIRpilotlampgoesout.Thereafter,push thepakingbrakeknobtoreleasetheemergencybrakes. Sincethepressuremightfalltemporarilyaftertherelease,besuretocheck thepressurebeforestartingthevehicle.

4.Starttheengineinthecarwiththeboosterbatteryandletitrunforafewminutes.Thisillhelptoassurethatthe boosterbatteryisullycharged.Duringthejumpingoperation,untheengineinthisvehicleatabout1000rpm.

5.Startyourengineusingthenormalstartingrocedure.Aftertheenginestarts,leavetheumpercablesconnectedand lettheenginerunatfastidleorabout1000rpmforseveralminutes.

6.Followingtheexactreverseorderoftheirbeingattached,carefullyremovethejumpercables.Removethenegative

IFTHEENGINEOVERHEATS

Afterinstallinganewfilter,runtheengineforseveralminutes,andcheckforleaksattheconnections.

Vacuumandcrankcaseventilationhoses

Inspectthesurfaceofhosesforevidenceofheatand/ormechanicaldamage.Hardandbrittlerubber,cracking,tears, cuts,abrasions,andexcessiveswellingindicatedeterioration.Particularattentionshouldbepaidtoexaminingthose hosesurfacesnearesttohighheatsources,suchastheexhaustmanifold. Inspectthehoseroutingtoassurethatthehosesdonotcomeincontactwithanyheatsource,sharpedgesormoving

Aircleanerfilter

AgenuineJACpartisrecommendedforreplacementoftheaircleanerfilter.

Drivebelts

Inspectalldrivebelts (waterpumpandalternator)forevidenceofcuts,cracks,excessivewearoroiliness,andreplace ifnecessary.Drivebeltsshouldbecheckedperiodicallyforpropertensionandadjustedasnecessary.

Checkforscoring,burning,leakingfluid,brokenparts,andexcessivewear. Brakepads,calipersandrotors Checkthepadsforexcessivewear,discsforrunoutandwear,andcalipersforleakingfluidleakage.

Parkingbrake

Inspecttheparkingbrakesystemsuchasparkingbrakelever,cables,andsoon.Fordetailedserviceprocedures,refer totheShopmanual.

Checkthewaterseparatoraboutonceaweek.Removethecondensatebefore thefloat1inthewaterseparatorreachesthepositionoftheredline2. Toremovethecondensateproceedasfollows:

1.Loosentheplug3todischargethecondensate.

2.Afterthefloathascomedown,tightentheplug.

3.Wipecleanthewaterseparatoranditsneighborhood.

4.Checkforfuelleaks.

BLEEDOFFUELFILTER

Iftheenginestopsbybeingusedupfuel,cleaningthefuelsystemorchang鄄 ingthefuelfiltertheenginedoesnotstartthroughfuelisreplenisheddueto becomeairintothefuelsystem. Airshouldberemovedfromthefuelsystemtomakeitstartyourengine.

Bleedairbythefollowingprocedure

1.Loosentheairbentcockonthetopofthefuelfilter.

2.Turntheprimingpumpcouterclckwisewith pressingdownandthenthe pumppistonispushedoutbyaspring.

3.Operatetheprimingpumpuntilthefuelwithoutairbubbleflowout.

4.Tightentheairbentcockandfixthepumppistonbyturningclockwisewith pressingdown.

5.Starttheengineandcheckforfuelleaks.

CHECKRADIATORANDRADIATORHOSE

Checktheradiator2,radiatorhose3,etc.forwaterleaks. Checkforthetracesofwaterleaksonthegroundwherethevehiclehasbeen parked.Iftherearewaterleaksinthecoolingsystem,takethevehicletothe nearestserviceshopforservice.

Thisisthebrakepedalfreeplay.Thefreeplayshouldbewithinthelimitsspec鄄 ifiedintheillustrationbelow.Ifitisnot,haveitinspectedbyyourJACdealer andadjustedorrepairedifnecessary.

CLUTCHPEDALPLAY

Theclutchpedalplaywilldecreaseasthediscwears.Ifitisnotadjusted,the clutchwillslip,makingitimpossibletooperatethevehicle.Whentheclutch pedalplayhasdecreasedtolessthan8.3in. (210mm),adjustmentisre鄄 quired. Checkthepedalplaybydepressingthepedalwithfinger.Depressingthe pedalwillmakeyoufeelresistanceintwostages.Thepedalplayisthestroke madebythepedaluntilitreachesthesecondstageandis0.24to0.31in.(6 to8mm)standard.Theplayinthefirststageisthemastercylinderplay.Inthe secondstage,itistheclutchboosterpushrodplay.Theplayiseasierto checkwhenthecompressedairpressureislower.Ifitisoutofspecification, haveitinspectedandadjustedorrepairedifnecessary.

Adjusttheclutchmastercylinderplay,whichisthemovementofthepedalup tothefirstresistanceencounteredwhenthepedalisdepressedwithyourfin鄄 ger.Adjustthisplaytoabout6mm (0.24in.)byturningthecenterbeltofthe mastercylinderpushrod. Afteradjusting,firmlytightenthenutonthecenter beltwhileholdingthebeltinpositionwithacorench.

NOTE:

BLEEDINGOFCLUTCHPIPING

Ifthereisairinthepiping,theclutchwillbehardtodisengage. Whenthefluidreservoirtankhasbeenemptied,besurethattheclutchpiping isbled.Haveanassistantinbleedingthepipingandproceedasfollows:

1.Filltheclutchfluidreservoirtankwithbrake fluiduptothe"MAX"level. Sincethelevelfallsduringthebleedingoperation,addbrakefluidtoprevent emptyingthetank.

2.Removetherubbercapfromtheairbleederoftheclutchbooster,mount oneendofatransparentvinylhose,andputtheotherendinabowlcontain鄄 ingbrakefluid.

3.Depresstheclutchpedalseveraltimes.Afterthestrokehassettled,keep thepedaldepressed. Lettheassistantloosentheairbleederto dischargetheairalongwiththe brakefluid.Lethimtightentheairbleederimmediatelyafterairhasbeendis鄄 charged.

NOTE:

Ifthebrakefluidisdischargedfromtheairbleeder,thestrokeofthepedalwill change.Tightentheairbleederimmediatelyafterthepedalhastouchedthe stopper.

4.Aftertheairbleederhasbeentightened,releasethepedal.

5.Repeatsteps3and4untiltherearenomoreairbubblesinthebrakefluid thatrunsoutfromtheairbleeder.Asafinalstep,tightentheairbleerfirmly andinstalltherubbercap.

6.Checkthefluidlevelinthefluidreservoirtankandaddbrakefluiduptothe "H"level.Depresstheclutchpedaltocheckforfluidleaks.

CHECKINGTHEBRAKES CAUTION:

Becausebrakesareessentialtothesafeoperationofthecar,itissuggested thattheybecheckedandinspectedbyyourJACdealer.Thebrakesshould becheckedandinspectedforwearatthoseintervalsspecifiedinthevehicle maintenancescheduleinSection6-3. CheckingtheBrakeFluidLevel

Engineoverheatingiscausedbythelowcoolantlevelorrustandscaleaccumulationsinthecoolingsystem.Iftheradi鄄 atorclogsverybadlyorcoolantisverydirty,performcleaningandcoolantreplacementasdescribedbelow.Ifthe coolantlevelislow,addcoolantasnecessary.

Replacementofcoolant

Iftheradiatorclogsbadlyorcoolantbecomesdirty,replacecoolantimmediatelyregardlessofthespecifiedreplace鄄 mentintervals.Inmakingthiskindofreplacement,besuretocleanthecoolingsystembytheprocedureshownin 'Cleaningmethod".

Cleaningmethod

Runtheengineatidletoheatthecoolantto90益orhigher.Thencleanbythefollowingprocedure.

1.Opentheradiatorandenginedraincocksto drainthecoolant.

2.Aftercompletedraining,closeeachdraincockandfillthesystemwithcitywater.

3.Closethedraincocksandfillthesystemwithcitywater.Runtheengineforawhileanddrainthesystem.

4.Filltheradiatorwithcitywatercontaininggenuineanti-rust'RADIPET9'orgenuineanti-freezeataspecifiedcon鄄 centration.Runtheengineuntilthecoolantisheatedtothetemperature(90益)atwhichthethermostatopens,andbleed airthoroughlyfromthecoolingsystem.

5.Stoptheengineandmakesurethatthecoolantisattheproperlevel.Ifthecoolantlevelislow,addcitywater.

CAUTION:

Whenthecoolingsystemiscleaned,thecoolantorcleaningsolutionisdrainedatelevatedtemperature.Therefore,be carefulnottogetscalded.

Additionofcoolant

Ifthewarninglamplightswhenthestarterswitchissetto"ON',thecoolantlevelislow.Notethattheprocedurefor addingcoolantvariesaccordingtothetypeoftheenginecoolingsystemonvehicle.Usecitywaterascoolantandadd anti-rustoranti-freezetohaveaspecifiedconcentrationforpreventionofengineorcoolingsystemcorrosion. Donotusehardwaterfromwellriveretc.

Antifreeze

Selectproperconcentrationbetween30and53%byreferencetothetableshownbelow.

CAUTION:

Besuretouseanti-freezeattheconcentrationmostappropriatefortheatmospherictemperaturewithinarangefrom 30to53%.Iftheconcentrationisbelow 30%,theanti-corrosionpropertywillbeadverselyaffected.Iftheconcentration isabove53%,theanti-freezepropertywilldecreaseandengineoverheatingwillalsobecaused.Useanti-freezeatthe specifiedconcentration.

Ifthebrakeliningsarewornandtheclearancebetweenthebrakedrumandlinings(brakeshoeclearance)increases,it canbedangerousbecausethebrakeperformancedeteriorates. IftheBRAKEpilotlamplights,adjustandbleedthesystemimmediately. LeakageofbrakefluidalsocausestheBRAKEpilotlamptolight.Checkforfluidleaks,too.

1.Applychockstothetiresbeforethewheeltobeadjustedisjackedup.

2.Stronglypushtheoutsideperipheryoftirewithbothhandstocheckforwheellooseness.Ifthewheelisloose,itcan鄄 notbecorrectlyadjusted.Takethevehicletoyournearestserviceshopforcorrection.

3.Removethedustplugfromtheshoeclearanceadjustinghole.

NOTE:

Besurenottohurtyourself.

4.Turntheadjustingcaminthedirectionofthearrowuntilitisblocked. Slightlybackitoff.

5.Inserta0.4mm (0.016in.)thicknessgaugeovertheentirewidthoflining throughtheadjustingholeandturntheadjustingcamtoadjusttheclearance totheextentthatthethicknessgaugecanbepulledoutwithsomeresistance.

6.Eachwheelhastwoadjustingholesatthefrontandrear.Besuretoadjust bothbythesamemethod.

8.Turnthewheelintheforwarddirectionanddepressthebrakepedaltostoprotationofthewheel.Thereafter,turnthe wheeltocheckfordragging.Withslightfootpressureonthebrakepedal,turneachwheelbyhand,ensurethatthefront wheelsareslightlylightertoturnthattherearwheelsorthereisnogeardifference,andthattherightandleftwheelsare aboutequal.

Thebrakeshoeclearanceshouldbedeterminedonthebasisofthestrokeofthebrakechamberpushrod.Ifthe pushrodstrokeexceeds40mm(1.57in.)onthefrontwheelsor50mm (1.97in.)ontherearwheelswhenthebrake pedalisdepressedalltheway,adjusttheclearance.

1.Applychockstothetiresbeforethewheeltobeadjustedisjackedup.

2.Stronglypushtheouterperipheryoftiretocheckforwheellooseness.Ifthewheelisloose,itcannotbecorrectlyad鄄 justed.Takethevehicletoyournearestserviceshopforcorrection.

3.Starttheenginetoincreasethecompressedairpressuretomorethan6.4 kgf/cm2(625kPa).Leavetheenginerunningatidle.

4.Pushtheknobofthecabcontrolvalvetoreleasetheemergencybrakes.

5.Removethedustcapfromthewheelbrakeinspectionholeandcheckthe liningthickness.Iftheliningisworndowntothenotchshowninillustration,it iswornbeyondtheservicelimit.Haveyournearestserviceshopreplacethe linings.Makesurethatthedustcapisreinstalledafterinspection.

6.Turnthewormshaftoftheslackadjusterinthedirectionthatthepushrod extendsuntilthewormshafttouchesthestopper.

7.Backoffthewormshaft3or4notchesonthefrontwheelsor4or5notches ontherearwheels. Thenotchesareindicatedbytheclocksthewormshaftmakeswhenturned.

8.Measurethestrokemadebythepushredofthebrakechamberwhenthe brakepedalisdepressedalltheway.Verifythatthestrokeisuptospecifica鄄 tionsgiveninthefollowingtableifitisoutofspecification,adjustwiththe wormshaft.

Standardstrokeofbrakechamberpushrod

9.Turnthewheelintheforwarddirectionby handanddepressthebrake pedaltostoprotationofthewheel.Turnthewheeltocheckfordragging.With slightfootpressureonthebrakepedal,turneachwheelbyhandtocheckthat thefrontwheelsareslightlylightertoturnthantherearwheelsorthereisnot greatdifferenceandthatrightandleftwheelsareaboutequal.

10.Asafinalstep,installthedustplug.Operatethevehicleataslowspeed andperformbraketeststocheckforbrakeperformance,unevenbrakingand othertroubles.

ENGINEOILLEVEL

Positionthevehicleonalevelsurface.Thebesttimetochecktheoillevelis beforeoperatingtheengineorabout30minutesafterstopofengine. Thecheckingprocedureisasfollows:

TURBOCHARGER

Principleofturbochargeroperation

Turboengineisadevicethatproducesmorepowerbysupplyingsufficientair intothecombustionchamberbyusingtheenergyofexhaustgasisusually wastedinthegeneralengine. Theexhaustgasesareacceleratedintheturbinehousinganddirectedonto theturbinewheeltoturnit. Thisspinsthecompressorwheel,whichresultsintheintakeairbeingforced intotheenginecylinders. Astheintercoolerisinstalledthatimprovesthefueleconomyandpowerofthe engine,whilereducingharmfulexhaustgasestoaminimum.

Intercooler

Theintakeaircompressedbytheturbochargerincreasesto170~Candasa result,poweroftheengineislimitedbyengineoverheated.Theintercooler coolstheheat.Thisimprovesthecombustionefficiencyandasaresult,itin鄄 creasesthatthefueleconomyandpoweroftheengine,whilereducingharm鄄 fulexhaust.

1.Checktheoillevelandoilpressure Beforestartingtheengine,measurethecrankcaseoillevel.Assoonasthe enginestarts,checkoilpressureindicatorfornormalrise.

4.Ifthelamplights,thefuseisgood. Theheadlampcircuitshouldbecheckedwiththeheadlightswitchatlighting position.

5.Replacethedefectivefuse.

1.Agitatingtank

Agitatingtankbodyisthemainpartoftheconcretetransportationtruck,itconsiststhetankbody,guidetank,vaneand assistantvane.Thefunneledguidetankassuresthefeedingproperly,thecurvevanehelpstooutputperformanceof lowerlandslidelevelconcrete,thereareholesonthevane,whichreducestheadheringoftheconcrete.Theassistant vanewiththeagitatingabilityhelpstoimprovethepre-agitatingconcretequality.Thewholeagitatingtankismounted abovethebracket;therearetwosupportingrollersintherear.Thecheckingholeontheagitatingtankisforeasyrepair.

2.Transmissionsystem
