1.IMPORTANTINFORMATION
ThefollowingsareveryimportantforthecorrectmanagementandeconomicuseofJACvehicles,andtheyshallberead carefullybeforeuseandmaintenance.
Nameplate
ThenameplateislocatedneartheVIN,onwhichitmarkedwithinformation aboutthevehicle,suchasitsvehiclemodel,enginemodel,ex-worksdate, etc.
Chassisnumber
Thechassisnumber,thatisVINcodenumber,isstampedontheoutersideof therightlongeronendoftheframe.
Overload
Overloadingwillshortenvehicle'sservicelife,butalsobringaboutpotential risktosafedriving. Theloadingmassmustbelimitedtothespecifiedrangeofthemax.totalmass forvehicle,andtheloaddistributionsonthefrontandrearshaftsshallnotbe morethanthecarryingcapacityofthevehicleshafts.Pleaserefertothetechni calspecificationsheetfortheratedtotalmassvalueandshaftloadingcapacity.

2.BEFOREDRIVINGYOURJAC
BREAKINGINYOURVEHICLE
Operatethevehicleatmoderatespeedsduringthefirst1,000km(600miles)tobreakitin.Makecertainthatthefollow ingpointsinparticulararestrictlyobserved.
Allowtheenginetowarmupfullyuntilthecoolanttemperaturereachesabout60(140℉).
Avoidracingtheengine,abruptstart,accelerationandbraking.
Avoidoverloadingthevehicle,asthiswillresultinashorterlife.
Avoidhighspeedoperationasfaraspossible.Duringbreak-inoperation,makesurethattheenginespeeddoesnot exceed1,500rpm. Makesurethatyourvehicledoesnotmissthefirst1,000km(600miles)and5,000km(2,500miles)inspections. Afterthefirst1,000km(600miles)and5,000km(2,500miles)ordriving,takeyourvehicletoyournearestserviceshop forinspectionsbasedonthe'MaintenanceRequirements'.
NOTE: MusthavetheengineofyourvehiclecheckedattheauthorizedJACservicestation.Ifyoudonotfollowthepre cautionitmaycauseaseriesdamagetotheengineandisnotcoveredbyJAC.

Forgreaterconvenience,yourJAChastwotypesofkeys.Themasterkeys(1) willfunctionintheignition,lockingorunlockingthedoorandfueltankcap fromoutside.Theelectrictiltingcapkeys(2)willbeusedforlockingorunlock ingtheelectrictiltingcapsystem (Ifinstalled).Carryingasparekeyisrecom mendedincaseyouaccidentallylockonekeyinsidethecar.
KEYLOCKS
Youcanreleasethekeybypressingtheknobwhenthekeyisin'LOCK"posi tion.
DOORLOCKS
1.Lockingusingthekey
Lockthedoorbyturningthekeytowardtherearofthecarandunlockitby turningittowardthefront.
CAUTION:
Becarefulnottolockthedoorwiththeignitionkeyleftinthevehicle.
2.Lockingfrominside
TolockyourJACfrominside,simplyclosethedoorandpushthelockbutton down. Whenthisisdone,thedoorcannotbeopenedusingeithertheinsideorthe outsidedoorhandle.

3.Lockingfromoutside
Thedoorscanbelockedwithoutakey. Firstpushthelockknobdown,thenclosethedoorwhiledepressingthepush buttonforward.
WINDOWGLASS
Toraiseorlowerthewindow,turnthewindow,regulatorhandleclockwiseor counterclockwise.
WARNING:
Whenopeningorclosingthewindows,makesureyourpassenger'sarmsand handsaresafelyoutoftheway.
CENTRALDOORLOCKS(Ifinstalled)
Thecentraldoorlockingsystemislocatedonthedriver'sdoorlockbutton.Itisoperatedbydepressingthedoorlock button.Ifthefrontdoorisopenwhenthebuttonisdepressed,thedoorwilllockwhenclosed.
NOTE:
Whenthefrontdoorlockbuttonisdepressed,thefrontdoorswilllock.When thefrontdoorlockbuttonIspulledup,thefrontdoorswillunlock.
POWERWINDOWS(Ifinstalled)
Thepowerwindowsoperatewhentheignitionkeyisinthe'ON'position.The mainswitchesarelocatedonthedriver'sdoorsideandcontrolthepassen ger'sside.Thewindowsmaybeopenedbydepressingtheappropriatewin dowswitchandclosedbypullingupontheswitch.Toopenthewindowonthe driver'sside,presstheswitch(1)halfwaydown.Thewindowsmovesaslong astheswitchisoperated.Tofullyopenthedriver'swindowautomatically, presstheswitchfullydown.Inautomaticoperation,thewindowwillfullyopen evenifyouletgooftheswitch.Tostopatthedesiredopening,pulluponand releasetheswitch.Inordertopreventoperationofthewindowbypassenger, awindowlockswitch(2)isprovidedonthedriver'sdoor.Therearetwotypes ofthepowerwindowswitch.Oneoperatesfor30secondsaftertheignition keyisturnedto"ACC'or'LOCK',butthepowerwindowglassdoesn'tmove whendoorsopen.

Tomovetheseattowardthefrontorrear,pullthelockreleaseleverupwards. Thisreleasestheseatonitstracksoyoucanmoveitforwardorrearwardto thedesiredposition.Whenyoufindthepositionyouwant,releasethelever andslidetheseatforwardorrearwardonitstrackuntilitlocksintoposition andcannotbemovedfurther.
SeatCushionHeightFixing(Driver'ssideonly)(Ifinstalled)
Tofixtheheightoftheseatcushion,fitthelockingknobtothelocker.Itwill holdyourseatpositionfromthevibration.

Thearmrestwillberaisedorloweredmanually. Toraisethearmrest,pullitup. Tolowerit,pressthearmrestdown.
AdjustingSeatbackAngle
Toreclinetheseatback,leanforwardtoyou'reyourweightoffit,thenpullup onthereclinercontrolleverattheoutsideedgeoftheseat.Nowleanbackun tilthedesiredseatbackangleisachieved.Tolocktheseatbackintoposition, releasethereclinercontrollever.
WARNING:
Tominimizeriskofpersonalinjuryineventofacollisionorsuddenstop,both thedriverandpassengerseatbacksshouldalwaysbeinanearlyuprightposi tionwhilethevehicleisinmotion.Theprotectionprovidedbytheseatbelts maybereducedsignificantlywhentheseatbackisreclined.Thereisgreater riskthatthepassengerwillslideunderthebeltresultinginseriousinjurywhen theseatbackisreclined. AdjustableHeadrests(Ifinstalled)
TheheadrestsinyourJACmayberaisedorloweredbyreleasingthelock buttonontheheadrestsupport.Toraisetheheadrest,pullitup.Tolowerit, presstheheadrestdown.Tomovetheheadrestforeward,pullonthetop.For maximumeffectivenessincaseofanaccidenttheheadrestshouldbeadjust edsothetopoftheheadrestisatthesameheightasthetopofoccupant's ears.Forthisreason,theuseofacushionthatholdsthebodyawayfromthe seatbackshouldnotbeused.

Thelocationoftheupperanchoragepointcanbeset(forgreaterbeltcomfort andsecurity)toanyoneoffourpresetpositions.Toadjusttheseatbeltpivot pushtheknobupwardordownwardtotherequiredsetting,ensuringthatit engagesoneofthepresetpositions (onreleasingtheknob).Theheightad justermustalwaysbelockedintopositionwhilethevehicleisstationary.Do notattempttoadjusttheheightoftheupperanchoragepointwhilethevehi cleismoving.Ifyouareanydoubtastothemethodofadjustmentortheopti mumheightpositionforyourfrontseatbeltalwayscontactyournearestJAC Dealer.

SEATBELTS(3-PointType)
ToFastenYourBelt
Tofastenyourseatbelt,pullitoutoftheretractorandinsertthemetaltabinto thebuckle.Therewillbeanaudible"click,,whenthetablocksintothebuckle. Theseatbeltautomaticallyadjuststotheproperlengthonlyafterthelapbelt isadjustedmanuallysothatitfitssnuglyaroundyourhips.Ifyouleanforward inaslow,easymotion,thebeltwillextendandletyoumovearound.Ifthereis asuddenstoporimpact,however,thebeltwilllockintoposition.Itwillalso lockifyoutrytoleanforwardtooquickly. Checktomakesurethebeltisproperlylockedandthatthebeltisnottwisted.
NOTE:
Ifthedriver'sseatbeltisnotfastenedwhentheignitionkeyIsinthe"ON"posi tion,theseatbeltwarninglightwillflash.
AdjustingYourSeatBelt
Youshouldplacethebeltaslowaspossibleonyourhips,notonyourwaist.If locatedtoohighonyourbody,thechancesofslidingoutfromunderitand sufferingseriousinjuryordeathareincreased.Botharmsshouldnotbeunder oroverthebelt.Rather,oneshouldbeoverandtheotherunder,asshownin theillustration.
ToReleasetheSeatBelt
Theseatbeltisreleasedbypressingthereleasebuttoninthelockingbuckle. Whenitisreleased,thebeltshouldautomaticallydrawbackintotheretractor. Ifthisdoesnothappen,checkthebelttobesureitisnottwisted,thentryita gain.

Depresstheswitchtolockthedifferentialandchecktoseethat theDifferentiallockindicatorlightison.Depresstheswitchagain toreleasethedifferential. Lockthedifferentialbeforedrivingonroughroad.Aftergetting outoftheroughroad,besuretoreleasethedifferential.Ifithas becomeimpossibletomovethevehicleandthedifferentialisnot locked,stoptherearwheelsandlockthedifferentialimmediately.

Whentheignitionswitchis"ON",thisgaugeindicatesthetemperatureofthe coolant.Undermostdrivingconditions,theneedlewillremainatapproximately thehalfwaypoint.Stopandgodriving,drivingathighspeedsduringwarm weatherordrivingupasteepgradientmaycausethepointertomovetoward theredsector.Ifyourvehicleoverheats,waterlampcomesandtheindicator goesup.Howeverwhenthequantityofcoolantisbelowofthespecification, thewarningbuzzerwillsound. Atthistime,stopyourvehicleimmediately.
VOLTAGEGAUGE
Thevoltmeterindicatesthebatterystateofcharge.Checkwhiletheengineis running.Thepointershouldalwaysindicatebetween20and30volts. Ifthepointerreadsabove30voltsorbelow20volts,contactyournearestau thorizedJACdealer.

THEHEATERMIRRORINDICATORLIGHT
Whentheheatermirrorswitchison,theoutsiderearviewmirrorglassisheatedandtheheatmirrorindicatorlightcomes onatthesametime.
PARKINGBRAKE
Thislightwillbeilluminatedwhentheparkingbrakeisappliedandtheignitionon,andshouldbeextinguishedwhenthe parkingbrakeisreleased.Thevehicleshouldnotbedrivenuntiltheparkingbrakehasbeenreleasedandthelightex tinguished.
HIGHBEAMINDICATORLIGHT
Thehighbeamindicatorlightcomesonwhenevertheheadlightsareswitchedtohighbeam.
TURNSIGNALINDICATORLIGHTS
Theblinkinggreenarrowontheinstrumentpanelshowsthedirectionindicatedbytheturnsignals. Ifthearrowcomesonbutdoesnotblink,blinksmorerapidlythannormalordoesnotblinkatall,amalfunctioninthetum signalsystemischecked
SEATBELTREMINDERLIGHT
Whentheignitionswitchisturnedon,theseatbeltwarninglightblinksfor5secondstoremindthedrivertoweartheir seatbelt.Ifthedriverfastenstheseatbeltwithin5seconds,thewarninglightgoesout.Whentheignitionswitchis turnedto"ACC"or"LOCK"position,thewarninglightwillalsogoout.
OILPRESSUREWARNINGLAMP
Thislampilluminateswhentheignitionswitchissettothe"ON"positionandgoesoffaftertheenginehasstarted.Ifit lightsupwhiletheengineisrunning,theenginemustbestoppedatonce.ContactthenearestauthorizedJACdealer.
ENGINEOVERHEATWARNINGLIGHT
Ifthecoolanttemperatureistoohighthiswarninglightwillbeon,ifthecoolantlevelisbelowthanthedesignedquantity thebuzzerwillsoundatthesameti-me.Atthistimepulloverandstopthevehicleassoonaspossibleandturnoffthe engine.Thencheckthecoolantlevel.Ifnecessary,addcoolant.Sameratioascoolantintheradiatorshouldbeadded.
AIRHEATER/RELAYLIGHT
Inseverecoldseason,ifthelightisonwhenturningtheignitionkeytothe'ON'position,holditthereuntilthelightis off.Atthistimeturntheignitionkeytothe"START'position.
WORKINGLIGHTINDICATORLIGHT
Whentheworkinglightswitchisturnedonthelightcomeson.

ABSWARNINGLIGHT
Whenthekeyisturnedto'ON',ABSwarninglightwillbeonandthenoffinafewseconds. IfABSwarninglightremainsonwhiledriving,orremainsoffwhenthekeyisturnedto"ON",theremaybeaproblem aboutABS. Inthiscase,youshouldshowanauthorizedJACdealeryourvehicleandcheckitassoonaspossible. Thoughthereisaproblemaboutthevehicle,thenormalbrakesystemwillstilloperateexceptABS.
ANTI-SLIPREGULATOR
Whenthekeyisturnedto'ON"position'ASR"lampwillbeilluminated. Ifthebrakeisengaged,'ASR"lampgoesout.Butifitdoesn'tgoout,"ASR"doesn'twork.
Whenthereisanyproblemabout'ASR"system,"ABS"lampisilluminated. Duringnormaldriving,'ASR'lampisoff. When'ASR'works,'ASR'lampcomestoblink.
NOTE:
"ASR"lampisamber-coloredand"ABS"lampisred-colored.AmbermeansINDICATIONandredmeansWARNING.
CABTILTINGLIGHT
Thecabtiltinglightwillbeilluminatedwhenmain hookdidn'tfixforcablocking.

Thedoorajarwarninglightwarnsyouthatadoorisnotcompletelyclosed.
NOTE:
Closethedoorcompletely.
Beforedriving,checkthatthewarninglighthasgoneout.
CHARGEWARNINGLIGHT
Thechargewarninglightshouldcomeonwhentheignitionkeyisturnedon,thengooutwhentheengineisrunning.If thelightcomesonwhileyouaredriving,stopandturnofftheengineandcheckthetensionofthebelt.Ifthebeltis looseorfraying,adjustorreplacethebelt.
JAKEBRAKEOPERATIONINDICATOR(Ifinstalled)
Jakebrakeisakindoftheenginebrake.Whenitworks,thelampilluminatesbut,incaseofthevehicleequippedwith

BRAKEWARNINGLIGHT
Thebrakewarninglightwillbeilluminatedwhenoilleaksfromthebrakesystemorthebrakeperformancedroppeddue towearingbrakeshoe. Ifpossible,stopimmediatelyandcontactyourauthorizeddealer.
AIRPRESSUREWARNINGLIGHT
Whentheairpressureintheairreservoirdropped (below4.8-5.2kg/cm2)andtheengineisontheairpressurewarninglightcomesonandthebuzzersoundsatthe sametime.Thenstopdrivingyourvehicleimmediatelyandruntheengineatidle.Waituntiltheairpressuregetsback andthiswarninglightwillgoout.
CAUTION:
Ifthevehicleisdriveninconditionthatairpressurewarninglightcomeson,thisisverydangerous.Ifapressurerising timehasalonginterval,havetheairsystemcheckedandrepairedbyanauthorizeddealer.
CHECKENGINEWARNINGLIGHT(Ifinstalled)
Ifthemainkeyswitchisturnedoninnormalcondition,'CHECKENGINE'lampwillilluminateandthenextinguishafter twoseconds.Ifitilluminatescontinuously,youcansuspectanyprobleminitsohavetocheckorrepairintheauthorized JACdealer.
INDICATORLIGHTSINSPECTIONKNOB
Toconfirmashortofthebulb,presstheknob. Incaseofashortofthebulb,thebulbshouldbeexchangedassoonaspos sible.
TRUNSIGNALSWITCH
Pullingtheleverback(awayfromyou)causestheturnsignalstheleftsideof thevehicletoblink.Pushingtheleverforward(towardyou)causestheturn signalsontherightsideofthevehicletoblink.Astheturniscompleted,the leverwillautomaticallyreturntothecenterpositionandturnofftheturnsignals atthesametime.Ifeitherturnsignalindicatorlightblinksmorerapidlythan usual,goesonbutdoesnotblink,ordoesnotgoonatail,thereisamalfunc tioninthesystem.Checkforaburned-outfuseorbulboryou'reyourautho rizedJACdealer.

HEADLIGHTSWITCH
Tooperatetheheadlights,turnthebarrelontheendofthemultifunction switch.Thefirstpositionturnsontheparkinglights,sidelights,taillightsand instrumentpanellights.Thesecondpositionturnsontheheadlights.
High-beamandLow-beam
Toturnontheheadlighthighbeams,pushtheleverupward.Forlowbeams, pulltheleverdown.Theappropriateheadlightbeamindicatorlightwillcome onatthesametime.
NOTE:
Thisfunctionisoperatedwhentheheadlightswitchisinthe"ON"position.
PASSINGSWITCH
Theheadlightswillbeflashedwhentheleverispushedupwardandrelease automatically.Theheadlightscanbeflashedeventhoughtheheadlightswitch isinthe"OFF'position.
WINDSHIELDWIPER
Thewindshieldwiperswitchhasthreepositions: INT:Intermittentwiperoperation LO:Low-speedoperation HI:High-speedoperation
NOTE:
Topreventdamagetothewipersystem,donotattempttowipeawayheavy accumulationsofsnoworice. Accumulatedsnowandiceshouldberemovedmanually,Ifthereisonlyalight layerofsnoworice,operatetheheaterinthedefrostmodetomeltthesnowor icebeforeusingthewiper.

WINDSHIELDWASHEROPERATION
Tousethewindshieldwasher,pressinonthebuttonontheendofthewiper/ washerlever.Whenthewasherbuttonispressed,thewipersautomatically maketwopassesacrossthewindshield,Andthewindshieldwiperisoperated 2to3timesatthesametime,Thewashercontinuestooperateaslongasthe buttonisdepressed.
CAUTION:
Donotusethewiperwhenthewindshieldisdry.
Thewasherbuttonshouldnotbepressedifthewasherreservoirisempty. Thiscandamagethewasherfluidpump.Donotoperatethewasherformore than15secondsatatime.
EXHAUSTBRAKESWITCH
Tousetheexhaustbrake,putthe"ON'position.Theexhaustbrakeoperates whenyouremoveyourfootfromtheacceleratorpedalandtheclutchpedal. Theexhaustbrakewillnotoperateautomaticallyifyouoperatetheaccelerator pedalortheclutchpedal. Useexhaustbrakewhengoingdownaslope.
HAZARDWARNING
Thehazardwarninglampshouldbeusedwheneveryoufinditnecessaryto stopthecarinahazardouslocation.Whenyoumustmakesuchanemergen cystop,alwayspullofftheroadasfaraspossible. Thehazardwarninglightsareturnedonbypushinginonthehazardswitch. Thiscausesallturnsignallightstoblink.Thehazardwarninglightswilloper ateeventhoughthekeyisnotintheignition. 1.Movetheselectingswitchtotherightorlefttoactivatetheadjustablemechanismforthecorrespondingdoormirror. Now,adjustmirroranglebydepressingtheappropriateperimeterswitchasillustrated.

ReadingLight
Thereadinglighthasabuttonofthreepositions. Thethreepositionsare:
DR(荫) Inthemiddleposition (荫),theinteriorcourtesylightcomesonwhenanydoor isopenedregardlessoftheignitionkeyposition.Thelightgoesoutwhenthe doorisclosed.
ON Inthe'ON'position,thelightstaysonatalltimes.

YourJACisequippedwithtwosunvisorstogivethedriverandpassengerei therfrontalorsidewardshade.Thesunvisorsarefittedonbothsideson standardmodels.Toreduceglareortoshutoutdirectraysofthesun,turnthe sunvisordowntoblocktheannoyance. Somevehiclesareequippedwiththefrontandsidesunvisorsforthedriver, andthefrontsunvisorforthepassenger.

2.AirIntakeControl. Thisallowsyoutoselectfreshoutsideairortocirculateinsideair.
3.TemperatureControl. Thisisusedtoselectthedegreeofheatingdesired.
4.FanSpeedControl. Thisisusedtoturnthefanonandselectthefanspeed.
